An orc struck my shield splintering it into pieces, my arm was broken. I grunted and tried to kick the creature back. I reached for a sword next to me, I prised the dead soldier's fingers off,  gripped its hilt in my hand, and struck the orcs head from its shoulders. I laid back on the grass panting heavily, the sound of horses, men, and orcs screaming in agony filled my ears. I hauled myself off the soiled ground and continued the fight.  Slicing orc after orc, I was smothered from head to toe in sticky black blood.

Dawn rose over the mountians and hills. The orcs screeched and screamed as the sun blinded them. We were victorious, I stood on the battlefield panting, watching the orcs retreat. The great hooves of my Clydesdale steed thudded behind me, he nudged me in the back. I turned and placed my sword into its scabbard. "I missed you too boy."

I gripped his reins and began my patrol of finding the injured which were few, I supported one lad and another rode atop my horse. We returned with what was left of the army. Many people muttered prayers as we returned to Theodon. A few of us collapsed at the top of the stairs. I cradled my arm as Eomer and our King emerged. Eomer rushed to my side. "Are you okay?" I nodded.

"The others need to be seen to," I said.

"And they will," he said walking me to the healers wing. The elder man approached me and took my arm in his hands, I bit back a whimper as Eomer cradled my head to his chest.

"Not alot of damage to it, just a broken elbow and bruised scapula," he said wrapping my arm in a sling. "But you need to rest."

"I'll make sure of that," Eomer said.

"Here, put two drops of this in a cup of water every night, it will make her sleep," he said handing him a bottle thinking I didn't notice. Eomer escorted me into the main hall, Aragorn, Gimly and Legolas had just arrived.

"Milady," Legolas greeted me.

"Lass," Gimly said and last but not least the ranger himself took my hand and kissed it softly.

"My dear Shieldmaiden." I giggled and offered them all a smile.

"It's good to see you all again," I said.

"It's good to see you, and I wanted to congratulate you on your victory," Aragorn said and smoked his pipe. "Elrond is very proud of his grand daughter, and I am sure your mother would be too."

"I'm sure she rode next to me in battle," I smiled sadly.

"I am very grateful to have her blade amongst my army," Theodon said.

"Enough, about me don't we have business to do with Gondor to discuss?" I reminded everyone.

"Of course always to business with her, never any pleasure," Theodon chuckled.

"Go entertain yourself Milady, you need not hear this," Legolas said.

"I am the sword of Rohan, I am always here for important meetings such as this," I said and leant against one of the many horse pillars. Listening to every word as it was discussed.
