Palm was shook. She knew that Thorn, her adopted daughter after her parents, had a boyfriend and had an egg, but a dragon named Dune betrayed her and stole her egg. After that, Thorn had become the leader of the Outclaws and the ruler of the Scorpion Den. She had put up wanted posters of Stonemover and Dune. A few years after that, ditzy Blaze stumbled into the Scorpion Den. Blaze dropped out of the war because she couldn't even fight. Only one day, what Blaze told Onyx was not about how to look prettier. "You know Onyx, you are actually an heir to the throne. My mother and sisters will be too busy killing each other to notice that someone else took the throne." Onyx just shrugged her off. Her thoughts were on the dragonet Thorn said was her daughter. Apparently Stonemover didn't abandon her. He was an animus and a dragon named Morrowseer ended his relationship with Thorn. He then ran away from the Nightwing tribe and fleed to Jade Mountain to turn the animus curse onto his scale, turning his scales into stone instead of losing a piece of his sanity. Every once in awhile, she would visit him. Then one night, Thorn came up to Onyx. "Sunny used a dreamvisitor to visit me. She told me that she wanted to visit you," she said plainly. Onyx was shocked. Why would one of the Dragonets of Destiny want to talk to her, a lowly guard of Thorn, the ruler of the Scorpion Den, full of assassins and refugees? On a cold starless night, Sunny and Onyx meet up in a small tent with the rest of the Dragonets of Destiny. "Hello?" Onyx asked, "why did you want to see me? You know I'm not an assassin, I'm not killing the two candidates for the queen you're not choosing. I am over-qualified though." The Rainwing chimed in "We already have an assassin. Sunny told us you are an heir to the throne." Onyx snorted, "Seriously? That's what ditzy Blaze told me. Do you actually think I want to be queen?" "Hey, Onyx! You don't have to rude! Glory is almost exactly like you but she can rule TWO tribes just fine. She's also much younger than you," Sunny snapped. Onyx rolled her eyes but was impressed. A seven-year-old dragonet was in charge of two tribes. "Listen Ms. Grouchy Sandsnorter. We just need a queen that isn't cruel or evil. You're our best bet. Deal?" the Seawing asked. "Deal," Onyx sighed.
