Chapter 1: Loner for Longer

August 19th 1999

I died that day. The day when my heart stopped beating, when my eyes closed for the last time.

When I took my final breath.

I was alone in that room. Well, I felt alone. I couldn't actually be here, not one healthy face had looked my way.

I felt alone, even if there was a multitude of young cheery people, anxiously waiting to share the latest news.

Gossip.

I did not move. I was dead. My corpse waiting patiently for eternity in the shadows.

Alone.

The earth is a black sphere. Circling the world are tiny dots of color.

Red.

Each crimson drop of blood, is a person. Waiting like the rest. For hope.

For me, hope has never come. I'm gone. It's too late.

My sick and pale expression. My clammy hands clamped around my myself.

Holding onto what I hoped to always have, but could never keep.
