If someone had asked Shiva Pandya what his favourite colour was a couple of weeks ago, he would have most probably said that it was black, but now he wasn't that sure anymore. He seemed to like brown, everywhere he went he saw brown, different shades of brown, his favourite was honey brown, the exact shade of Raavi's eyes. Everywhere he went he was reminded of the doe-eyed beauty, he didn't know what to call her anymore, they weren't frenemies any longer, not with the way they both behaved with each other. They weren't together as well, but he knew they were supposed to be.

Their day wouldn't start from a text or call from the other, and it wouldn't end unless they saw each other, Shiva didn't understand what triggered the change in their relationship, she came crying to him one day, her eyes desolate and devoid of their spark, his good for nothing Maami had threatened Raavi, who hadn't done well in her mid-terms, of marrying a guy of her choice. The anger that had taken over Shiva had overwhelmed him, but that was only until Raavi had latched onto him, her arms tight around his waist and he head buried into his chest, she had fit perfectly against his body. Anchoring her to him made him feel needed, wanted, and he wanted more of that feeling, he needed more of the feeling, having her lean onto him, having her trust him to solve his problems. Ever since that day, Raavi and him would meet everyday talking, bickering, laughing away the hours of the day.

She would come to the store after college, brining notes and assignments for Shiva, instead of just dropping them and leaving Raavi would sit by him until he wrapped up the accounting works and they would go to the store room where Shiva had a study desk, and they would work today, Shiva guiding her through chapters and concepts she wouldn't understand. Soon enough Shiva would take notice of her eyes, they way they brightened and widened as she got a hold of one of the topics that had been bothering her, when he would get her a snack, her eyes would soften as he called her Raavi, well he had taken to calling her "Bunny" and used that much more often nowadays, it was a shocking transition, but him? He was absolutely besotted, her eyes her sparkling, twinkling eyes that brightened his day with just a simple glance.

Soon enough sitting next to each other on the floor transitioned to leaning on each other, Raavi began sleeping on his shoulders and Shiva couldn't help but stare down at her face, her long lashes sweeping the tops of her cheeks and fluttering about beautifully, a stray lash landing on her cheek, he would resist the urge to brush it off, choosing instead to pull her closer to his body. There were days when he would rest his head on her lap to forget about the stress of life, her little palms would thread through his tresses, scratching lightly at his scalp, and he would forget everything except her, she had began cuddling against him as she rested, her back would rest against his chest and he would force himself to keep his hands at her waist and not wander, no matter how sinfully tempting she was, as she would wake up she would look up at him with drowsy eyes, her mouth would curl up into a little smile and she would burrow deeper into his embrace, calling his name out softly, ever since he had taken to calling her bunny she had begun calling him "Shiv" her eyes would twinkle with mirth and mischief as she called out to him so, and his heart would skip a few beats.

Raavi was one of the brightest lights of his life, a constant star that shined, his north star, His Dhruva-Taara, she guided him, kept him grounded, reminded him to take life slow, one day at a time, live life to the fullest, she was the one who emphasised more on memories and moments. The star in his life that didn't know how brightly she sparkled. He shook his head when he thought of how she would begin worrying her lips at the slightest hints of trouble, the way her eyebrows would crease and her eyes would squint a little, her mouth would form a petulant pout and she would look up at him with wide honey brown irises, and he would loose himself there, only to find himself in the smile she would throw his way.

His Raavi was brown, much like the soil, raised around impurities and toxicity, yet she would continue to shine bright with innocence and joy and nurture everyone with love, nothing in this world could taint her, nor would he allow anyone to taint her. Shiva smiled as he thought of her, her warm eyes, his safe haven, they never judged him at all, all they reflected was love and understanding.

"Shiv"

He smiled as he heard her call out to him, readying himself for her hug, and soon enough she came barrelling into the store room, throwing away whatever was in her hands and holding into him with them, her face tucked into his shoulder, she took a deep breath and looked up at him, as he looked down at her, her lips stretched into a wide smile, her eyes crinkling at the corners and the honey brown iris's swept him away in a sea of warmth. Yeah Shiva Pandya's favourite colour was brown. It would be brown for the rest of his life, he knew. Warm honey brown.

With every glimpse at her brown eyes, a part of me sprung right back to life
