Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them

Annika was sitting near the French window connected to her room. Her shoulders shaking with grief, tears were streaming down her already wet cheeks .She was hiding her face in the her folded knees.

A single tear rolled down her cheek. Stinging her tear stained face. Her eyes were now filling with tears glistening in the light, bouncing sadness through the atmosphere.

As much as she tried to hold it in, the pain came out like an uproar from her throat in the form of a silent scream. The beads of water started falling down one after another, without a sign of stopping. She hit the wall and tried to scream, but her voice was melted by the sound of the place.

"Why Shivaay? Why did you do it?" She thought.

"I loved you more than anything."

The muffled sobs wracked against her chest. The world turned into a blur, and so did all the sounds.

"You're always a thief from the very start. You took away my heart and I was like a willing victim let you do it. How foolish was I to trust on you?"

Her sobs turned into hysterical crying.

"Letting you seeing the parts of me which I had hid from this cruel world was my crime, but with a slight touch you healed them but only to broke them in pieces again."

She remembered the vague taste of chocolate on his perfect shaped lips and the goddamned addictive smell of his woody cologne.

EVERYTHING GODDAMN EVERYTHING was NOW gone.

The last painful emotion slammed against her before she lost the feeling of feeling. Everything darkened into nothingness as she passed into the oblivion of unconsciousness.

Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love

Shivaay was sleeping. He had a weary look on his face. It looks like he had slept late and didn't get any good amount of sleep. His hand went to the opposite side of the bed only to find it empty. He woke up from his sleep. He was tired as hell, weary with the burden of long-closed eyes; he could easily be pulled off being a walking zombie, dead on the inside but subconsciously awake.

Every night is a futile tussle of conflicting thoughts. He don't want to spent fourteen hours working and went to sleep with that futile tussle and not ready to wake in the morning to rinse and repeat the same.

Eyes that won't ever close on his wish. A heart that won't stop its beating for a minute. The dark space is endless in this space less prison. He wished to drift away into a never ending dream, but dreams are only a memory in this hell of reality. I simply wish to sleep.

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

He was sitting bleary-eyed and unshaven at the table, munching his way slowly through a mouthful of cereal. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, he stopped munching. His jaw went slack. Milk dribbled out of his mouth. His eyes glazed over blankly and his head nodded forward.
Next thing - whomp!- his head landed right smack in the bowl in front of him, which was inches away from him.

I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine

Taking out his phone, he scrolled through his phone gallery for finding some pics. He clicked on the file 'Meri Annika'. A photo of girl with sweetheart face and brown eyes came up. She has pure milky white skin. Long Dangling earrings and was clad in a boat neckline white chudidaar.

His shades clad eyes were masking his emotions. To the outerworld, he seemed to be a busy person but actually he is a person who was drowning in the pool of guilt because of his own mistake.

"I'm sorry Annika. I was a fool. I didn't saw the chandini in front of me but I choose to watch the flaws of her. I was such a unlucky bastard that mistook a diamond in rough for tainted gold." He thought in his mind.

"I'm Sorry Annika." He whispered.

(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah, but this is happenin')

Flashback
"Shivaay, please listen to me. Please" She pleaded him.

"No I won't. You had broken my belief on you Annika. You spent a night with Daksh." He said in a hurt tone.

Annika proceeded to slap him but he stopped her in the way.

"From today, you and I are over. Forgot me and don't try to remember if I ever existed in your life. Now we're strangers forever."She spoke in a fierce and left the place.

The flashbacks started playing in front of her eyes. She had loved him. His head was wild as always. Always jumps into conclusion without investigating properly. They had everything but he had chose to believe all the lies fed in his mind.

You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love

Memories were the soul torturer of the girl.

She couldn't escape them, or hide from them; they were the worst kind of monster.

She was scared of what her past held, all the memories that seemed to never escape her. They were pin point needles, piercing her skin. She couldn't scream or fight back, she had to just endure the pain as the picture of his face flashed through her mind.

She had experienced pain before.

But nothing amounted to this.

She could neither hide or run or fight them. Her memories were indeed her worst enemy and the thing that would most likely destroy her.

Shivaay, you turned every moment we spent together into painful memories. They are sharp, and cut right through me everytime I think about that time.

Even the sweet good moments we had are now turned into a knife that kills my already broken heart. You pierced my soul; you made me skeptical about people and love.

And I hate you. I fucking hate you for that. You turned me into this broken mess, and even if I won't see you again, your touch will be with me for years, or maybe for the rest of my life, who knows.

You fucked up my confidence, and I remember every single word you said, I remember how you made me feel like a waste of space. And now the voice that puts me down inside it's not mine anymore, but your voice telling me again how I will never be enough for nothing.

The daily rant of her heart was heart breaking and this heart break is what today made her successful.

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

5 years Later,

"Sir, Ms Annika Dixit is here." Mishra called his Sir for informing about the new arrival.

"Tell her to wait Khanna. I'm joining in few minutes."Shivaay replied to Mishra.

Wearing his white blazer over his black shirt, he went out to his cabin to the personal waiting room where the new company RiVya Enterprises will be signing a deal for future profit.

He opened the door.

"Sorry Ms Dixit for kept you waiting." He apologized the women before him.

The girl has a petite waist and height almost equal to his. Her hair was straightened and was held back by a black clutcher. She was wearing a white formal shirt with black pencil skirt and nude blazer accompanied by black pumps. Her back was facing Shivaay.

"Shivaay, I've been waiting for this 5 years since that meeting." She said in a swift voice.

Shivaay was shocked at hearing the voice.

That voice which was remedy to his sleepless nights. That voice which sooths his wild beating heart. After 5 years, long wait he was able to hear him.

Without waiting, he went to her and hugged her.

"Annika, where had you been for so many days?" Shivaay asked him while smothering down her hair.

"I was wrong. I misunderstood you. I should have never listened to Tia."

Annika jerked him of her.

"Now that pea brain of yours get big. You realized your mistake" She taunted him.

"Mr Oberoi. I'm here for business deal not any personal work."She spoke to him in an officially serious tone. Saying this she gave him a look which meant business. Without any further talk, they processed their deal further.

"Annika please have a talk with me before you go. I want to clear all the misunderstandings and bitterness among us." Shivaay asked her while stopping her from escaping by putting a firm grip on her wrist.

"What talk? What talk you want Shivaay?" Annika rebuked.

"5 years before, Thank you for breaking me. I never understood it before. It used to sound like permission to hurt someone. I get it now.

Only a lover can wound so deep, cut to the very core. That level of trauma has to be an inside job. You broke me and watched me bleed. You saw me fail to eat, fail to sleep, and you kept on the pressure with your lies and manipulations, increasing the level of cruelty as you went.

After all that, what can there be left underneath but the untouchable part of me, my soul, the girl you can never hurt. I can't be more raw than that, more exposed, more pure.

So thank you, because as Sinead had said 'Now I have a strong, strong heart, thank you, thank you for breaking my heart.' "

"Annika please give me a last chance. Please give me a last chance" Shivaay sanked down to his knees and asked for another chance.

Annika can't keep up her façade. She soon joined Shivaay on the floor, holding his hands in hers.

"I'm ready to give you another chance but just give me a reason..." Annika said in a firm tone.

Without hesitation, Shivaay kissed her in a impulse. He kissed her and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below her ear, his thumb caressing her cheek as their breaths mingled. She ran her fingers down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them and she could feel the beating of his heart against her chest.

Shivaay's kiss stole the words she didn't need to say. In that silence all of their secrets were laid bare, all of their passions and the spark of love that existed between them. In that moment, in his love, she was feeling strong. One kiss and she had the courage to do what had to be done.

She had know the courage to give him a chance again.

How's it?
Do you like it?
