waking up from the dream in an instant, hong bitna sighed as she felt sweat on her face. the dream felt so real, she thought to herself as she examined her current surroundings. she was now in her own bedroom.

bitna walked to her bathroom to splash her face with cold water, when she head her phone go off. quickly wiping her now cool face, she went back to her bed before grabbing her phone from the nightstand. looking at the time, she realized that it was only 4am in the morning.

a message from felix showed up on her lockscreen. it wasn't usual for felix to be up at this ungodly hour, considering the fact that he always needed his 'beauty sleep'. bitna unlocked her phone and looked at what felix had to say.

shutting off her phone bitna grabbed a random oversized sweater she had out and climbed out her window, wearing her slides and her fuzzy socks seeing as though it was winter.

it wasn't much, but bitna was pretty content.

arriving at the playground, bitna noticed felix rocking back and forth on the swings. by his posture and the look on his face, bitna could tell that something was really off about felix. the lee felix was never like this.

she walked up behind the shaking boy and placed a hand on his shoulder. on prompt, he jumped off the swing set startled, and turned around to see who was there. when felix saw bitna's cheeky little wave, he rolled his eyes and smiled at her.

"so... what brings you to this park at 4am felix? cat got your tongue?" bitna asked, plopping herself on the empty swing seat beside felix.

felix gently pushed himself on the swing, his lips firmly pressed against eachother as if he didn't have a response for bitna.

she noticed how tense felix was, and placed her hand on his shoulder to reassure him that he could tell her anything regardless of how good or bad it was.

"you know you can tell me anything, right?" bitna asked, trying to break the awkward silence that was enveloping the two.

felix puffed his cheeks and sighed. "yeah, i know that! it's just that i don't know how to explain it—"

"explain what?" bitna asked again, cutting off felix.

"i don't know how to explain that ᶦ ˡᵒᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘˀ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ᵗʰᵃⁿ ʲᵘˢᵗ ᵇᵉˢᵗ ᵇᵘᵈᵈᶦᵉˢˀ" he responded, almost muttering his confession.

bitna was taken aback by the response, as well as how shy felix was when confessing to him. she didn't really know how to respond.

"huh?" was all bitna said. felix looked in the opposite direction, his face turning bright red.

this wasn't how i wanted to begin my day off with. they both thought.

"look, felix, don't get me wrong but, i like you too! it's just that given these circumstances that we're currently in, it's just really awkward for me to process this..." she said, leaving her response hanging like a leaf about to fall off a tree.

felix rolled his eyes and made a snarky remark. "look at you, using big words on me at a time like this!"

"yeah well, it's not your fault that your dumbass made me go out here in the freezing cold at the crack of dawn!" bitna retorted.

"would you like my jacket?" felix asked, completely avoiding the situation.

bitna sighed, before stifling a yawn. "stop trying to divert the subject! look, let's just talk about it later. i'm feeling awfully tired now..."

felix nodded, before holding out his hand in front of bitna for her to hold. bitna held his hand, and the two proceeded to walk out of the park. the two didn't know where they were heading yet, until bitna propped open the question.

"felix, how come your not going back to your house?"

"well aha... my friend forgot to give me a spare set of keys to open the front door..." he laughed nervously, scratching the nape of his neck.

"you've been locked out of the house?" bitna asked quizzically, as she turned her body to look at felix.

"that's not what i said, but that's exactly what i meant."

"you're such a kid, i swear! come, let's get something to eat and we'll go to my place." felix nodded, and proceeded on to trailing behind bitna as she walked towards a 24 hour convenience store that was close to her apartment complex.

on the way there, bitna decided to take out her phone and text someone about her 'day' was going so far.
