Anna's last day of reshoots was finally over. She glanced around her small trailer with a sigh. She had just enough time to get home and change for the wrap party at a nearby restaurant that had been rented out for the occasion. She sat still as her assistant took off her makeup and brushed her hair while she waited for Namjoon to show up.

A few minutes later, there was a knock before the door swung open.

"Hey, there, beautiful!" Namjoon ducked into the trailer with a big, dimpled smile.

Anna turned to him. "Hey. I'm almost done. You can wait for me outside. Colette is just going to take off my costume and bag it up."

Namjoon's eyes widened. "Ooh. In that case I'll stay."

Colette giggled, and Anna shook her head with a smile. "No. You will wait outside."

He walked to her and leaned down, his lips at her ear. "I'll wait, as long as you don't make me wait too long." With a quick peck at her cheek, he left the trailer.

"You're so lucky," Colette cooed. "He loves you so much."

"Yes," Anna replied softly.

"Are you two official yet?"

Anna sighed. "Well, not officially official, just something close to it." He did love her, and even though she hadn't actually accepted him as her boyfriend, everyone seemed to think they were together. Now she had to decide how she would respond when he finally asked her the question everyone said he was going to ask her.

Later that evening at the wrap party, Anna and Namjoon sat at a corner table away from everyone else and all the noise. Namjoon was holding her hands in between his and every so often, he would bring her hand to his lips.

Anna smiled at him shyly, feeling nervous at his rapt attention. She had never been courted by someone so determined. His every glance at her was heavy with meaning and affection. While it was a little disconcerting, she had to admit that it was also very flattering and enjoyable. Namjoon's only objective this evening seemed to make sure that she was having fun and that she had everything she needed or wanted.

"We may have had a little too much bubbly," he said to her. "Let me go get you a plate. You wait right here and drink some water, okay, my love?"

Anna nodded with a smile, and he rushed toward the buffet table.

"My, my, my. What devotion." A voice startled Anna. She looked up to see the lead actress Myra Brecker staring after Namjoon. She turned to look down at her. Anna suddenly felt self-conscious of how plain she must look next to Myra, who was wearing a beaded gown in the flapper style. Her makeup made her look like a doll. She held a glass of champagne carelessly in her hand.

"You mean Namjoon?" Anna smiled shakily at her. "Yes, he's very kind."

Myra glanced toward the table where Namjoon was talking to one of the producers. "He certainly is. Everyone at my table was placing bets on whether he would propose to you tonight or not."

Anna's eyes widened. "What? Propose? Tonight?" She also glanced toward Namjoon. He was in conversation with the older man, but his eye met hers, and he winked at her.

Myra laughed. "Don't look so startled. Even a blind person can see that he adores you. He's crazy about you, and all the women are envious that they don't have someone as devoted to them as he is to you. Some might even be plotting to take him away from you. Be careful. You could do a lot worse than him."

Anna licked her dry lips but stayed silent. She wondered if Namjoon had told anybody that he wanted to propose. They had never discussed it.

Myra sat down in the vacant chair next to Anna. "Or maybe you think you could do better. I heard that you and Kim Seokjin had a fling on the set of Echoes of Youth, and that's why you were fired. Is that true? Was he as amazing as people say? Was Norma green with jealousy?"

"N-No." Anna gulped. "I mean, I was let go, but not because I had a...fling with Seokjin. Nothing like that happened. I don't know why people said that. Seokjin and I are just friends. We've been friends since we were kids. That's all."

"Oh." Myra looked pensive then took a drink of champagne. "I didn't know that. Friends. So, you grew up together. He's more like a brother to you then?"

Anna nodded slowly. "I guess."

"Then you wouldn't mind if I take a shot at him, would you?" The star's green eyes sparkled, and her red lips were turned up in a half-smile. "I know I'm a bit older, but he seems to like older women. He is one amazingly hot guy. And if he's kept Norma satisfied for this long, I can only imagine what his special qualities must be. But he and Norma are on the outs, and now that he's up for grabs, I might make a play for him." She stared at Anna."That is, if you don't mind."

'Why would I mind?" Anna asked, but inside she felt disappointment fall into her stomach like a rock. She had to stop feeling this way. "I'm with Namjoon, and Seokjin's just a friend."

Before Myra could say anything, Namjoon returned to the table.

"Here we are, my dear." He put a plate in front of her and looked at the older actress. "Hello, Miss Brecker. I'm glad that you're keeping Annelise company. Can I, uh, get you anything? More champagne?"

Myra rose to her feet. "Thank you, dear, but I'm fine. You just keep taking care of our little girl here. She reminds me of a lamb, and you know how the wolves circle lambs."

Namjoon's smile wavered. "Yes, I know. I will keep her safe."

"Good man." Myra smiled in Anna's direction. "I'll talk to you soon, dearie. By the way, you were fantastic in the role. You're gonna go far. Trust me. Ta-ta, you two." She sashayed to another table.

Namjoon sat in the seat she vacated. He pushed the loaded plate toward Anna. "She's right, you know. The wolves will always be circling, but I promise to protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you. I love you, Anna."

She looked at him fondly. He had never been anything but kind and supportive of her. He was the first one to compliment her on anything she did and was always the one to comfort her when things went awry. His touch was always tender and caring, but she knew that he wanted more. He often professed his love, and she loved him, too. But she wasn't sure if her love was the same as his. In his eyes she saw so much intensity, and she wondered if he realized that he did not see the same emotion in her eyes.

"I know, Joon." Her voice was soft.

He smiled and gathered her up in a warm hug, not caring that people around them were watching them with speculative smiles on their faces. Anna let herself go pliant in his arms, wanting to return his affection, but her mind brought up an image of the mesmerizingly handsome man who had broken her heart without even realizing it. She shut her eyes tightly, wanting to strike Seokjin's face from her thoughts once and for all.
