Max gasped out as he looked around. His vision still blurry as he could only make out shapes. He tried taking a step forward before being stopped by a rattling of chains.

He heard another person groan behind him. He tried turning his head, trying to move the chain around his neck. He struggled for a bit before looking around the dark room, "Hello?" He spoke out.

"Hnngh..." he heard behind him. His eyes widened, "Jerry?!" The voice groaned again before Jerry lifted his head up. "Huh? Max?" He squinted in the dark before turning his head to the side, "That you?" He slurred slightly. "Yes! Where are you?! What are you doing?! Where are we?!" Max whipped his head around, making the chain rattle. Jerry squeaked as he felt his chain move, "Max! Max please stop!" Max stilled at his voice. "I-I what?!" Jerry looked around, more awake. "I think we were drugged. I'm behind you, I think..." he trailed off before dipping his head down a bit.

Max felt his neck get pulled backwards. "What the-" Jerry cringed at his revelation, "I think we're connected to each other" Max's eyes grew wide before looking down. "W-where are we?"

"I don't-"

Suddenly, Lights flashed around them before Jerry could say anything else. Their eyes adjusted to the lights before realizing they were standing on two platforms. Two levers stood by their sides, at least a couple of feet away from them. Jerry peered a bit over the edge, finding no end in sight, or maybe it was an illusion.

"Hello, Jerry, Max. You wanna play a game?"

Max stilled as the booming voice loomed over them, seemingly coming from every angle. "Let's test your faith in one another, shall we?" Jerry pulled at his chain around his neck, he screamed, "What do you want?!"

"Now, Now. Let me explain the rules of the game. I'm sure you noticed those levers next to you. One of you will have to pull it"

Max looked at the lever, he took a step forward right towards it. Jerry yelled out as he was pulled back against their backboard. "Max!" He shouted, making him stop and press his back against the backboard, "I'm sorry! Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. Jerry felt his chain slack before nodding, "y-yeah"

"How fun. So you've noticed the chains are connected. Here's the fun part, if one of you doesn't pull the chain-" a button click was heard throughout the room as two table saws shot out of the backboards, making Jerry and Max instantly jump back. The both of them choking as the chains pulled on their neck.

"To make the table saws stop. You must pull on the lever. Only one of you has to pull the lever. But be warned, if neither of you pull it in 3 minutes, the chain will instantly retract and both of you will be killed"

Jerry stared at the table saw in horror. Max felt like puking, the blood was still visible on the spinning piece of metal. "Max.. Max" he heard Jerry whimper. "Pull the lever"

"No. You-you can't be serious" he responded. "Max. You heard him... we're both going to die if we don't do something" Max took a deep breathe before taking a step forward. Jerry moved a bit as big red numbers showed up on the wall. Max's eyes focused on the timer being shown.

2:44

"Max!!" Jerry shouted, "focus! The lever, Max! Pull the lever!! Max snapped out of his daze and started again towards the lever, pulling Jerry along with him. Jerry planted his feet on the ground as he started to get closer to the table saw. He gripped onto the chain collar, feeling himself start to hyperventilate. Max grunted as he was stopped, "J-jerry! I-I can't move"

The level was so close, just a few inches away. He tried reaching over, his fingertips barely touching the knob.

1:44

Jerry swallowed before planting his hands on either side of the table saw, trying to keep his head away from the spinning blade. "Max, please!" Max grunted again as he tried taking another step forward. Jerry screamed as the saw nicked his nose, blood dribbled from the tip. Max gasped as he tried turning behind him. The move jostled Jerry's chain into turning his head as well, "Max! Please!! I don't want to die!!" Max turned back towards the level, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he started mumbling as he reached over again. Trying to keep his head still as his arm reached out again, he took a tiny step forward.

Jerry screamed as his face was merely inches away, his head ducking as so his nose doesn't get pierced again. His eyes focused on the blade.

0:46

"There's only 46 seconds left!! Max!! Do something!!" Jerry screamed at him as he started panicking. Max felt himself panic, he was gonna get Jerry killed if he took another step, but his arms weren't long enough! "Babe. Babe, I can't reach! Is there any way you can-" Jerry shook his head, rattling the chains. "No. No! There's no time! You need to think of something of we're both gonna die tonight" he started crying, "oh my beautiful babies. My baby Amelio. What's he gonna think? What's he gonna do if we die here tonight?"

Jerry sobbed as Max tried thinking of another way to grab onto the lever.

0:30

The timer was going down fast now. Max grabbed at his hair feeling frustrated. They were both gonna die, he didn't wanna die! He shot his head down, hearing Jerry yelp, before tears welled up in his eyes. He felt all hope leave his soul before realizing.

0:20

His legs! His legs should be long enough to reach the lever! Max extended his leg out, Jerry mumbling multiple apologies as he stared down the running blade.

0:10

Max grunted as he looped his leg around the lever.

0:5

With one mighty pull he managed to pull the lever down.

The timer froze.

Instantly both table saws stopped and retracted. The chains around their necks instantly unlocking, sending both of them on the floor. The lights came on completely, showing a warehouse of some sort. A fog machine was surrounding their area, the ground disappearing was an illusion.

Jerry grasped at his neck as he took in deep gulps of air. Max sat up as he took deep breathes, he turned towards his lover, getting up slowly. Jerry kept gasping, he was only seconds away from getting killed, the saw could've easily cut through his face. Max, shaking, walked over to him, collapsing at his feet before pulling him into a hug. Jerry hugged back immediately, tightening his grip. They both jumped as they heard a creaking door open. Max lifted them both up from the ground and helped Jerry go through the exit door.

They both reached outside to find the night sky. "I don't even know where we are" Jerry mumbled and buried himself in Max's side. Max sighed softly, "I don't think we should go out anymore"
