Hands together producing a noise for my claps as well as the sudden clearing of my throat, caused them to separate.  He looked intensely into my hazel eyes. "Well done," I said and walked out. That was it. I never wanted to set my eyes on him again.

School was almost about to begin again after a long-lasting but stressful vacation. Stressful, because of my daily routine of having some studies with a tempting young handsome and sexy teacher mum had hard for me all in the name of 'you have to be the best student in your school' .Dad was on a business trip the whole time of this vacation so I actually didn't see him at all but he called to check up on us from time to time. Now here I was, back on the compound of Grants college and my mind was made up. I was going to be a new person now. The all nice, friendly and caring Lisa was dead and buried on a day I saw him cheating on me.

I called myself on my bed as soon as I got the dormitory not wanting to talk to anyone. My other dormmates came in chatting happily about how their vacation went not even noticing my presence.

"Is she alright?" "who?" "Melissa"

I hope the friends individuals ask. Soon enough, Dora came to my bedside and stared into my eyes.
" Lisa what's wrong? did something happen at home?" she asked.

"leave me alone," I said I went under my blanket. Sleep took over me soon and I was finally at peace.

After packing my stuff I went into my locker. I felt how hungry I was but I still ignored and continuous sorting out my books. Dora came in and saw my expression. She immediately read that I was starving. "It will be better if you go and purchase food from the canteen," she said but I didn't mind.

"Have it," she offered me a bottle of water.
"I'm going to get you some food but drink this for the meantime," she said. I without waiting for my reply she left. Not bothering to hear her out, I continued with my packing so I felt sharp pains in my tummy everyone was in class since they're sitting positions and I really meant of their books into their lockers.

I walked in pain onto the compound hoping I'll see Dora but that was not the case. I felt dizzy and before I could hit the ground I felt a couple of arms grab me but I couldn't make the person out.

I was on my way to class to find out if Melissa was in. She ignored me all through the vacation and I wasn't at peace at all. I understood her but all the same it was my fault for not telling her about Winnie harassing me. As I walked worriedly, I saw her. I wanted to approach her but I wasn't ready to take what she will do. No matter the explanation I gave to her, I knew it was going to be difficult to convince her. It was then that I realised she wasn't she. There was something wrong with her but I managed to get hold to get near her before she could fall. I got two of the porters who were passing by to help me carry her to the infirmary.

The nurse told me she was going to be fine but time continued to be ticking and she was still not be waking up.

When I go to the dorm with the food I saw no lisa.
Where was she? I walked to class to find out but before I could get there, Whitney came to me and said," Tell Lisa to stay away from Duke because he's mine."

My mouth dropped and I starred at nothing in particular. "What was happening in the school?"

Before I could take another step, Tracy the school's gossip came to me.

"Have you heard?" she began as usual.

"What is it Tracy? Time isn't on my side."

"Oh now you don't have time. Well, I was just informing you about Lisa faking diziness when she saw Duke so that she will collapse and the he will catch her just like in the movies."

"What!"

But before any further questions, Tracy was already gone.

I found a group of guys gathered under a tree but I paid no attention to them.

"Duke! you can't continue to be like this because of a girl. If she doesn't want to see you just let her be," I heard Kevin say.

"Excuse me Duke, can I see you for a moment?" I asked and he got up to follow me.

"Have you seen Lisa around?"

"She's at the dispensary," he said.

"What's happening to her Dora?"

" I should be asking you. What's up with you and Whitney?"

He remained silent for a while.

"Speak up," I commanded.

"You would not understand Dora."

"Then explain to me because you can't be cheating on my friend. I won't allow that. Its either you end whatever you have with Whitney or forget about Lisa." I said and left.

I saw her starring in her bed when I got there and a minute after, the school nurse came to us. "Are you her close friend?"

"Yes."

"Take her to the head's office. She needs to go home for some check-ups."

I nodded and took Lisa to the dorm afterwards. Her parents had already been called and she would be going home tomorrow already. As we sat in the dorm, I saw that she hadn't touched her food at all.

You can confide in me lisa. Don't forget a problem shared is one solved. Before she could reply, our other dormmates  came in and Sonia said, "how could you stoop so low? Are you that thirsty for his attention? Does he really matter? Yeah, i agree he has the looks and cash but...

"Shut up all of you. Get the f*** out of here.

I stormed out of the room with Dora behind me. I needed space. I wanted to be left alone but as usual, Dora never gave up on me and i loved her for that. I sat on one of the 'monkey chairs' in the lawns and she cane to sit beside me.

Tears began to fall down my cheeks.
"You can hug me if you want," dora said and sadly i clung onto her and  brought all my tears out.

He is the reason why you are like this aint it?

Yeah I saw him having 'fun' with Whitney before we went home last   term.

Forget him! she said suddenly. He is not worth your time.

Its not as easy as you think Dora. Ive been trying hard.

"I know you can do it . Now smile forever,"she said and boosted up my zeal.

It was another day and i woke up determined to forget all about Duke and move on with the life.

"Melissa," he called out as i was walking towards the library.

"We need to talk."

"What about?" i asked him.

"About us," he replied.

"ok go on i am listening but please be quick." i said and he looked at me wierdly but still went on to talk.

"There is nothing going on between Whitney and i. What you saw last term was never my intention. She planned it all."

"Ok! Can i leave now? i asked.

He did not speak at all. He just continued to look at me.

Listen, i know i may have hurt you and...

Before he could complete his statement, i just turned and left him standing at the spot at which was spoke earlier.

It was over between us. I had moved on and i did not need him anymore.
