"Hey, dude, you know there's a festival going on outside?" A blue Purtle with thunder and lightning crackling though his mane asked a darker blue Purtle who was playing a video game in a dark cave.

"Hey, I don't even know you, so leave me alone, I'm playing Legends of Valour, and that's way more interesting than some stupid festival, and don't call me dude, my name's Navy." Navy flicked his ear and glanced in the thunder Purtle's direction.

"Yeah yeah, well Queen Elenor seems to want everyone outside, so I suggest you get out of this dark cave, ok? And hello Navy, my name's Ultimatum, must not have met you since you spend your life in a hole," Ultimatum replied, annoyed.

"And I seem to not want to be out there, but since it's the queen I'll come," Navy complained with a sigh, dragging his feet outside of the cave, as his fur hit the sunlight, the dark blue seemed to glow, and his eyes were put in better light, and Ultimatum could see why his name was Navy.

"Wow you're hot," Ultimatum said without thinking.

"Excuse me what? I think I have a hearing problem because I think I heard you call me hot." Navy looked at him, a skeptic expression on his face as he backed away into the cave nervously.

"Yeah, you're hot, who's your boyfriend beautiful?" Ultimatum smiled, he said what he thought, and didn't care what others got from that, so he stated the truth of what he thought of Navy.

"O-oh, um, please don't say things like that... it makes me uncomfortable, and I'm single, and happy to stay that way thank you," Navy's tail swished and his ears flicked nervously, he didn't like how loud and forward this Purtle was...

"Oh, that's weird, well I guess not many Purtles are dating anyway... but you're so hot... how do you not have a boyfriend?" Ultimatum shot Navy a confused look, flicking his ear as thunder crackled through his mane.

"Ahhhh, what's with your mane? It's weird, like there's a storm in it..." Navy desperately tried to change the topic, reaching out to touch it.

"No!" Ultimatum leaped back, leaving a surprised Navy with his paw raised. "You NEVER touch my mane unless you want to die!" he yelled, eyes huge.

"Well, never seen someone so protective of their mane," Navy said, backing up a little and beginning to suspect that he'd met a psychopath that had a crush on him.

"No... no it's not like that... if you touch it, it'll electrocute you and you'll literally die." Ultimatum sat down with a sigh, mane still crackling and deadly.

"Oh..." Navy said in awe, looking at the sad Purtle. "What about me, I want to die?" He was trying to make Ultimatum feel better, in vain.

"No... you don't want to die like that..." Ultimatums glare seemed to melt Navy, the happy-go-lucky Purtle that tried to get him out of the cave suddenly seemed dark, and that scared Navy. "Let's just go outside... that was the original objective." Ultimatum got up and stopped at the mouth of the cave, Navy trailing behind.

Ultimatum took a deep breath, and pasted on a fake smile, just like he did all the time, even when he bounded into the dark cave where Navy spent most of his time, but Navy could see how fake it was. Navy knew.

But he shook his head. It's not like I care...I don't care about anything but my cave, it's safe there, soon I'll go back and it'll be like none of this even happened, Navy thought, putting Ultimatum out of his mind as he stepped back into the sunlight, his fur glowing once more.

Ultimatum stayed by Navy the entire day, smiling for real when he saw Navy's beautiful eyes and shimmering coat. "Ok, just stop looking at me like that, it's really weird," Navy said, stepping to the side a bit as Ultimatum gazed at him.

"But your so preeeeeeeettyyyyyyy," Ultimatum whined, jumping up and down a little, after just a few hours, he was completely in love with Navy.

"No! Stop it! That's really weird and I don't like you! Just leave me alone!" Navy said, backing up a bit more, narrowing his eyes and shaking his head.

"Oh, of course, it's the mane isn't it? It must be, it drives away everyone, I'm sorry" Ultimatum felt his heart crack, it hurt so much that it could've been physical, of course Navy had been telling him to bug off all day, but those words...

I don't like you! Navy thought ferociously.

Ultimatum sighed and turned to walk away, tail trailing on the ground, he wasn't watching where he was going and bumped into Wisp.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying atten-"

Wisp stopped short. "Umi?" She used the nickname for her best friend, because Ultimatum was too long. (Ain't nobody got time for that) "What's wrong sweetie? Why are you so sad?" More pieces of Wisp's mane evaporated as she glanced worriedly at Ultimatum.

"N-nothing, I was just going to the forest, where's Sanctia?" Ultimatum said softly, trying to change the subject, to no avail.

"She's keeping the kids out of trouble, you know that's her job, so stop trying to distract me, what's wrong?"

"N-nothing, I swear." Ultimatum made the mistake of looking behind him back at Navy when he said this. Wisp followed his gaze speedily and narrowed her eyes at Navy, but focused on Ultimatum instead.

"Come on Umi, let's go," she said, resting her tail perfectly over his back just so that it hovered over his mane. It was dangerous, but Wisp didn't care.

Navy watched them walk away, surprised to find a twinge of jealousy, quickly pushing it down before it could grow. Why would I be jealous of Wisp? She has to deal with that annoying weirdo, and now I can go back to my cave and play Legends of Valour.

But I don't want to.

Navy was surprised by the thought, he wanted to stay out here, in the sun, the freaking sun. Navy hated the sun, he liked his dark cool cave where no one would bother him.

He sighed, dragging his paws away to sit under a tree and wait the day out.

"Why are you so sad? I thought you hated him, you broke his heart for the Gods' sake," a voice came from beside Navy, startling him out of his thoughts.

"Oh, it's you, where's your 'best friend'?" Navy said, shocked at the hint of hostility in his own voice.

Wisp was surprised too, she looked over at him and tilted her head to the side. "You're a strange Purtle Navy, you hate him when it counts and once he's gone, you're jealous," she said, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth, "and he's crying into a slice of pizza by the way."

"I am not jealous!" Navy said, jumping up, then sitting back down when he realized he'd attracted attention.

"You definitely are and there's no way you can deny it," Wisp said, the smirk taking over her face as the shy Purtle showed her true personality, sassy and awesome.

"S-so what if I am, it's just cause no one's had a crush on me before." Navy was blushing now, turning away from Wisp and wrapping his tail around his paws tightly.

"No, I think it's just that you've never had a crush on someone before. Admit it, Ultimatum's growing on you." Wisp walked around and sat back in front of him.

Meanwhile in the background, Sanctia chased after Nebula, Tyler, and Laeta. Nebula had Sanctia's feather earring in her mouth and Tyler and Laeta ran close behind, they were so close that their fur brushed and their tails were intertwined.

Wisp watched them run past, then looked back at Navy, who had been talking to a zoned out Wisp.

"Sorry what?" Wisp said, she had obviously not been paying attention.

"Bottom line! I like him as a friend! I barely like him at all!" Navy ignored Wisp and turned his head away in an aloof manner.

"Ha, you have fun with that untruth," Wisp giggled casually, getting a bit bored of the lengthy conversation. "You love him, bye!"

And with that Wisp leaped away into the din, Navy chased after her, surprised he even cared at this point, he slowed his pace, and then stopped, sitting down in a huge crowd, and they all just walked around him, not even caring that he was there.

A crack of thunder broke through the voices, making everyone jump, then they noticed that it was Ultimatum and moved on. Navy barely looked up.

"Hey Ultimatum," he said, not noticing the commotion rising behind him.

"Navy look out!" Ultimatum desperately tried to move, but it just made his mane more accessible as Nebula rammed into Navy, knocking him right onto Ultimatum's deadly electrical mane.
