Chase laid in bed, his eyes red due to his crying and guilt. He lost her... It was his fault. His phone rang, signaling he had a text as he picked it up. It was from Andrew.
Andrew and Serene had been worried since both him and and Bailey hadn't been to school but for different reasons. He set his phone back down and closed his eyes.

-----Flashback-----

Chase and Bailey had been together for over two years and have been on countless dates, met each other's parents and everything. Bailey's dad wasn't too pleased but dealt with Chase for his daughter's sake.

Chase was in his room late one night, his dad gone for the night as he watched TV. His phone rang and he picked for up, not bothering looking at the number
"Hel-" he was cut off when he heard crying. He stood up "Bailey? What's wrong?"
Bailey was crying as her voice came shakily through the phone
"Daddy please don't! It wasn't his fault! He means so much to me! Daddy please don't, we're gonna get married! Just you wait and see!" Chase heard faint yelling as Baoley pleaded to her father and turned her attention to the phone, her voice filled with panic and sadness.
"Chase... I need you to do a big favor... S-Stay away from my house. My dad I just had a huge fight and he stormed out the door! I've never seen him act this way... He's going crazy!" She hiccuped slightly as her voice became strained
"He's said he's gonna make you pay for what we've done... He's got a gun!" She cried right before the call disconnected. He looked at the phone before dropping it and running out the door and to Bailey's house.

Once he reached her house he saw her run out and hug tightly "why are you here?! I told you to stay away!" She looked up at him, her face bruised and beaten. Chase gently put a hand on her cheek.
"What has he done to you...?" She looked past him and her eyes widened
"Watch out! He's got a gun!" Chase turned around, coming face to face with her dad. He had a gun, hammer pulled back, aimed at Chase
"Son of a bitch... This'll teach you to get my daughter pregnant!" He yelled and shot the gun.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Bailey ran in front of Chase, taking the shot as she fell to the ground. Chase caught her and sat beside her. He looked down at her, his hands blood-soaked. His eyes watered slightly as Bailey smiled weakly and closed her eyes, using her last breath
"Daddy please don't, it wasn't his fault... He means so much to me... Daddy please don't... We're...gonna... get.... mar-ried..." Her eyes went dull and vacant and Chase looked at her father, seeing him loading another bullet. His eyes widened as he ran to the police station.
'Not even with him locked up... I don't know how I can live with myself knowing she did that for me...'

I used the song Run, Joey, Run for inspiration as I wrote this.. The song is a little old but still amazing. It's so sad!
