Her heart pounding in her chest, Gidget had no idea why she had moved to this position. She just wanted to lay next to Tiberius, not on top of him. But nope, her brain and heart teamed up together and were now making her look like a fool. Blushing bright red, she flattened her ears against her head, frightened that her friend would say something.

Luckily for Gidget, she had nothing to fear since Tiberius was having a hard time finding his tongue. He was completely frozen, unsure of what to do. His heart was beating so loud that he was afraid that Gidget would hear it. He was also trying to break eye contact but the old hawk was stuck staring into the Pomeranian's sky blue eyes. He found himself getting lost within their depths. At the same time, Gidget couldn't help but gaze at Tiberius's light brown ones, loving how they caught the sun's light.

About three minutes of absolute silence and one awkward staring contest later, it was Gidget who finally broke off from the staredown. She glanced away, feeling a little embarrassed. Tiberius felt a twinge of sadness when she looked away. Quietly laying his head back, the hawk could still picture her beautiful sky blue eyes staring at him, locked on to his own. He even saw his reflection in them. And he wanted them to look back.

Sighing, Gidget once again saw that her heart was proving to be a pain. Before she could stop herself, the fluffy white Pomeranian rested her head on Tiberius's chest. She could've sworn that the hawk's heart skipped a beat while she lay there listening to it. Hers felt like it did the exact same thing. Ignoring it though, she closed her eyes as she hugged the old hawk. She didn't even noticed that her one forepaw was gently stroking the hawk's soft feathers. Purring, Tiberius closed his own eyes and hugged Gidget back. The pair soon fell asleep like that, losing all track of time.
