"Daddy?" Esmeralda whimpered quietly, noticing her father making his way towards them while keeping an eye open for any signs of trouble. Following his older sister's gaze, Harrison wagged his fluffy tail as he began jumping around, yipping, "I told you guys we'd be rescued!" Reaching the cage, Tiberius quickly quieted his son. "You three have to be quiet, okay?" he whispered. All three puppies nodded their heads. Sighing with relief, the old hawk examined the lock on the cage.

Just then, an odd scent caught Tiberius's attention. It also smelled familiar but he couldn't put his talon on what it was. Lifting his head, he sniffed the air. The scent of gunpowder practically hit him in the face. Heart pounding, he froze stiff with fear as he began panicking. From where she was hiding in the bushes, Gidget noticed instantly that the old hawk was having a panic attack. "Please not now..." she mumbled. Gulping, she dared to step out of hiding.

All of the sudden, a loud bang went off. A second later, Tiberius let out a loud screech as a tranquilizer dart struck him in the shoulder. Stumbling around, he glanced over at Gidget. There was also a man coming out of hiding from amongst the trees. "Gidget, run!" the old hawk shrieked. Eyes rolling into the back of his head, he collapsed on the ground.

Frightened, Gidget at first couldn't move. Another man joined the first in walking towards the cages while a third headed towards her. Looking over at her husband and children one last time, the Pomeranian turned tail and ran as fast as she could. It wasn't long until she made it back to the others. "Woah Gidget, what's going on?" Max asked, stopping her before she could run into a tree.

Trembling all over, Gidget cried, "Someone's captured the others!"
