Marinette knew she did not fit at the moment she was born. Her mother insisted someone else tended to her daughter's needs. Then, her brother came along, and her sister. She noticed as she grew up the affection they got from their parents.

      "Mom, Dad, did I do something wrong?" She asked.

    "Child, quiet now we do not wish to hear you talk!" Her father reminded her.

      Her mother agreed with her father's harsh criticism and never once hugged her. 

    She tried so hard to please them, but always felt hated. 

       Marinette's siblings, on the other hand, were a different story, it seemed no matter what they did or said her parents dodded on them.   As a result, she resented her folks, her sister, and her brother. 

    "It is not fair, Kenny gets to go to the fair, and so does Marvin!" Marinette whined.

     "Marinette, you are not going and that is final!" Her mother scoffed.

      Marinette laid in the corner, whimpered, and wept over the injustice brought upon her.  She knew them for sure it was true she was the outcast of the family.  She slept by herself without more than a thin blanket. She was beaten if she complained and if she told a soul she risked being thrown out into the cold.
