"He's so freaking hot, Sky. I don't think you understand. Like, I start sweating like a pig when he gets within three feet of me. He's so hot that I already know he's not single. He's hotter than David Beckham, Zac Efron, and Justin Bieber combined." Grace rambled.

Skylar just held the phone to her ear as listened to her sister-in-law gush about her crush of the week. Her fingers, however, were carefully stroking her son's hair. She was overfilled with love every time she laid eyes on him. He was perfection in every sense of the word.

"Are you guys coming to the family dinner on Sunday? Abby thinks that you guys don't like her anymore." Grace asked.

"Yeah, we should be there. Why does Abby think that?" Skylar frowned.

"Bennett doesn't come around as often, and you guys skipped the last two dinners."

"Pax was sick then Bennett got sick. You know, he's a bigger baby than the baby when he's sick." Skylar said.

"I do, but Abby doesn't. She doesn't know you did us a favor keeping him at home."

Skylar laughed, "Don't be mean."

"Whatevs." she said dismissively, "I'll tell her you guys are coming with presents."

"Wait, Grace, don't-"

"Bye!" Grace quickly hung up the phone.

Skylar couldn't help but to laugh. She pressed a kiss to Pax's hair then left the overly extravagant nursery. She remembered when Bennett first showed her it.

"Don't you think it's a bit much?" she asked holding her eight month belly.

"No." he said slightly offended, "This is my first born, my son."

"Okay, but why does the room need a crib and a bed? You do realize he's coming out as a baby not a 3 foot, 25 pound child, right?" she asked.

"We have to be prepared!" He defended.

"For what? A sudden growth spurt that will launch him into kindergarten ages?" she snapped.

The hurt look on her husband's face had her immediately regretting her hormonal rant. She took a breath, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be so rude. I love that you took the initiative to do this, but honestly, babe, this is too much right now. How about we start over and we do this together?"

"But what about all this stuff?" He whined.

"We can put the bed and the TV in a different room for now, and the other stuff can go to Grace's or my mom's."

"I already set up a nursery at Grace's." he scratched the back of his neck.

"You don't waste any time, huh?" she joked.

After a little while of moving the stuff around, Bennett spoke up, "To be honest, I do feel hella claustrophobic in here, but I was making a point."

A loud shatter pulled her out of her reverie. "Damnit!" she heard Bennett yell shortly after that. Skylar rushed into the bathroom. Large and small piece of glass covered the floor. Bennett was on floor. His hands pulling on his hair as he angrily muttering to himself. Glass crunched under Skylar's slippers. Bennett dropped his head so his eyes were trained on his lap. Skylar kneeled in front of Bennett. His head still in his hands.

"Bennett, are you okay? What's wrong?" she said softly as if she was talking to a frightened animal.

"Dammit, I don't know." he said then roughly rubbed his eyes with his forearm. His eyes still casted down at his lap, "I just feel tense and pressured like, fuck, I don't know."

"Just breathe, baby." She ran her hand through his hair.

He inhaled and exhaled forcefully. He pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes tightly. "I just feel like I don't have enough time."

Skylar's eyes widened at the words, "Wha-What do you mean 'not enough time'?"

"I just mean, I just mean that I feel like I'm always limited on time. Everything is moving too fast for me." Bennett said quietly.

Skylar pursed her lips as she slowly began to realize why he was suddenly in a mood.

"What triggered you?" she asked with her head slightly tilted.

His cheeks turned a dusty pink before he averted his eyes to the ceiling. "I don't know."

"Mhm," she said with a small smile, "that blush tells me otherwise."

"Skylar." he groaned.

"Okay, okay." she said with her hands up surrendering, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it you feel like you think Paxton is growing up too fast?"

The blush strengthened. Even after five years, Skylar could still read his mind and sum up his feelings easier than he ever could.

"Bennett, babies grow." she laughed softly.

"I know that. I feel like I'm missing out." he said, "You said he smiled at you today. Do you know the last time he smiled for me? Two hours and fourteen minutes after he was born and the nurse said it was just gas. Do you think I work too much and because I work too much he doesn't realize that I'm his father?"

She furrowed her eyebrows, "Of course not. When you come home, he's ready to knockout. He doesn't smile because he's waiting to be fed one last time."

"I know and that's the problem too!" he exclaimed.

"It's a problem because you can't breastfeed?" She teased.

"No, not that." a hint of a smile graced his face, "It's a problem because I don't get bonding time with him. He spent nine months in you and these past three months with you all the time, but I only see him before or after work. Both of the times he's barely awake."

"How about this?" she said, "Talk to Mr. Jeffers tomorrow about taking a small leave of absence and about the possibility of changing your schedule."

"He might not want to give me a leave of absence." He mumbled.

"Or he might. He knows you only used two week of your paternity leave, and he knows you've been working your ass off every since you got that promotion." She stroked his cheek.

They sat on the bathroom floor in silence. Bennett held his wife tightly, silently appreciating how understanding and loving she was to him. Skylar wrapped her arms around his body and pressed her head to his chest, silently appreciating the strength he had to continue to strive for his family. The sounds of a sudden cry made them jump apart.

"That's the cry of him needing his diaper change." she wrinkled her nose as she stood from the floor.

"I'll get it." Bennett jumped up.

"See, I would if I could, but I can't let you do that." she said, "You need to clean up this glass."

"I'm having a depressive episode about not seeing my son often enough and you're denying me the privilege of changing his diaper?" Bennett asked stunned, but amused.

"You broke it, you clean it." She walked out the bathroom, leaving him to stare after her in disbelief. She peeked her head back through the door. "And, if you miss some and I step in it, I can guilty you into buying me stuff." she wriggled her eyebrows.

"Go take care of my son, woman." he said laughing.

Sorry, this took so long! I have several drafts of epilogues and none of them felt quite right but last night, a conversation I was having with my mom which sparked this and I like it much better than the other ones I wrote.

Paxton is pictured as Tamera Mowry's son, Aden, so credit to her and her husband lmao

Pax means "Peace". Paxton is "peace town"

I have a 1k reads which is crazy to me. I didn't think this would spark anyone's interest because it was mostly based off of me and I had the thoughts that no one would find this believable.

As for a sequel, I'm not too sure? Like I said before I didn't think anyone would like this, so I didn't really plan ahead. If I were too do more, it probably wouldn't be a sequel, but more like a spinoff with either Grace or Abrielle. I feel like Bennett and Skylar's story is over.

One last final thing, please be considerate of people feelings and stand up for the quiet ones. I just saw a video of Paris Jackson being bombarded paparazzi and she had a panic attack in front of them and they had the nerve to say, "It's not even that serious." Don't be that person.

THANK YOU SOOOOO SO MUCH FOR FOLLOWING THIS STORY. I'M FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOUR GUYS READS, VOTES, AND COMMENTS.
