You were still crying while Steven hugged you. Nurse Joy came out and you immediately sat up.

She said "Rowdy is responding to the treatment but he isn't out of the woods yet." With that she walked away.

Maxie said "I'm sorry kid..."

Gladion held out a hand to me and I took it. He pulled me into a tight hug and said "Everything will be ok. I promise."

*time skip to one day later brought to you by boring science classes everywhere*

Nurse joy brought out Rowdy who was awake.

She said "He is fine now just he won't be able to battle for a couple of months."

I jumped up and hugged the exhausted Pokémon. I whispered "Don't ever do this to me again, ok?"

*Time skip to several weeks later brought to you by Tornado drills*

I was sitting on my throne at the Pokémon league waiting for the next challenger. Everyone in Alola found out about my Mega evolving Decidueye. So now no one challenges me.

I heard footsteps and I jumped up excitedly. It was Steven and Gladion.

Steven said "You up for a double battle?"

I thought for a moment. I knew they both had six Pokémon so it would be twelve to six. But I was desperate for some action so I replied "Yeah sure!"

I threw out my new Blaziken and Rowdy.

Gladion sent out Silvally. While Steven sent out Metagross.

Steven said "Metagross respond to my voice and Mega Evolve!"

I said "Blaze hear my voice and respond to our bond. Together we will Mega Evolve!!!"

Gladion said "Silvally use the memory disc of Water!"

I said "Blaze use Flame kick on Metagross! And Rowdy use leafblade on Metagross as well!"

Steven said "Use Flashcannon and don't let them get close!"

I said "Rowdy switch your target to Silvally!"

Blaziken dodged the flashcannon barely but couldn't get to Metagross.

Rowdy was dodging Silvally who was on the attack. I couldn't let Rowdy get hurt. Why did I send him out in the first place. I said "Rowdy return! Go Lunala!"

Steven said "Your not allowed to switch Pokémon."

I replied "Because of what happened to Rowdy he is allowed to be switched."

I continued "Lunala Z-move NEVER ENDING NIGHTMARE! On Metagross." I started to use the motions for it. That's when my mind flooded to back to the incident. I started to shake a little bit but finished the moves thankfully.

I think Blaziken noticed my hesitation because he looked back at me and gave me a thumbs up.

I said "Use Flamethrower Blaziken on Metagross!"

Metagross was still hanging on but barely. I said "Lunala use shadow ball on Silvally! Blaziken use Thunder punch on him as well!"

Steven said "Metagross use giga impact on Blaziken." I smirked and said "Perfect. Blaziken!" I saw a small grin play on the pokemon's face. As his speed kept rising because of his ability. He kept dodging the Giga impact and then once Metagross was to tired, so blaze used the thunder punch.

Lunala was flying above Silvally waiting for directions. Metagross fainted.

I wasn't ever going to give up. This is what I loved. Being challenged and battles with no ends in sight.

It was now just Rowdy against Skarmony and Lucario. All of them were really tired. But I had no plans on losing. But I was scared about Rowdy. This is his first battle since the accident. I didn't want to lose him like I almost did.

I said "Rowdy use Leafblade!"

Steven said "Skarmony use steel wing!"

Gladion said "Lucario use Bone rush!"

Rowdy took on both attacks with his two blades. He pushed them back. Lucario slammed his Bone rush into Rowdy.

I screamed "Rowdy!" My key stone glowed bright and Rowdy's stone also glowed. Faster than I could stop it Rowdy was in his Mega evolved form.

Rowdy used leafblade on Lucario and it fainted.

Rowdy wasn't going to give up and neither was I. I said "Go up into the air and use leafage!"

While Skarmony dodged that attack I said "Now use bravebird and finish this. The attack landed and Skarmony fainted.

Rowdy lost its form and flew next to me. He was alright! I hugged him tightly and said "Good job bud!"

Steven said "I'm impressed you managed to defeat us."

Gladion said "Gosh I don't think then I'll ever beat you."

I said "Well you have to be strong to be a champion. That's why I'll always get stronger to."
