Lord, help me not to be obsessed

with the things that don't matter,

Like shopping or gossip or idle chatter

Like dusting, or laundry or making a meal

When to you, Father it is not such a big deal

For you care about other things

Bigger than me,

like quietness, caring

Perhaps planting a tree

Like holding the hand of a child who is lost

Like giving and giving not counting the cost

And so much more, Lord that my mind can't take it in.

Here am I standing in colours of sin.

Lord, I'm so guilty, I rush through the day

Don't feel what I should, or say what I should say

Oh, help me to be what YOU want me to be.

Help me to be a much better me.

If I am distracted may it be by YOU

Help me to do what you want me to do.

Help me live every moment carefully,

Prayerfully,

Please may I find you in every day tasks.

Always be here with me, that's what I ask.

You are the potter and I am the clay

Help me to live for you, this blessed day.

Cleanse me and make me, free of this sin

Break open my soul and pour your spirit in.

I am not a fan of fanatical religion or fanatical anything.  

God is our Father and so that is a relationship, not an 

obsession.  I mean we must put Him first and then everything 

else falls nicely into place.
