A/N I’m going to try and update this once a week from now on, for sure. I think it’ll probably be on Fridays, but it may be on different days, so it’ll depend on what I can do. I'll be sure to have another chapter up by next Friday, not this one, but the next.

Also, Happy Holidays, and Happy Birthday to a character in this story, the one and only Louis Tomlinson!

Here’s chapter 5, enjoy!

--------------------

Lizzie’s POV

When the girls were done getting pictures and autographs, I was relieved. Not only could we finally eat in peace, I had the chance to talk to Kelly again. I had noticed she seemed kind of down after the girls had come over.

Kelly was like a little sister to me, in a way. I mean, I had an older brother, Michael, who was overseas in the Air Force, and she had an older sister that she never talked about for personal reasons, but we were just close. She was almost the same age as me, and we had known each other the longest. We had moved to the neighborhood practically the same day. We’ve known each other longer than the others, so we were like family even more than the others.

The meal went by quickly, thank goodness, and we were able to pay for our meal. The boys refused to let us pay, again, even after the six of us had protested.

I so badly wish I had yelled out, “No, Jimmy protested!” but I hadn’t, to my utter disappointment. It had completely slipped my mind.

Anyway, they paid for the meal, and we all stood to leave. The rest of the group headed for the door, and Kelly was about to do the same when I stopped her, laying a hand on her shoulder. “Can I talk to you later, Kelly?” I asked her.

Kelly nodded. “Of course I’ll talk to you, Lizzie. How about after we get back to the hotel?” She suggested, her voice lacking the enthusiasm it usually held.

“That sounds great. I’ll talk to you later, then,” I said with a smile, and the two of us hurried to catch the rest of the group before they reached the van.

---------------------

After a quick ride in the van, we arrived back at the hotel. We all exited the van and the boys slipped on their shades. As we walked up to the building, I had a thought. What if those girls had a Twitter account? What if they tweeted about meeting the boys? Could there be paparazzi inside of the lodge?

Okay, I guess it was more like three thoughts, but you get the idea.

The boys took the lead as we walked through the sliding doors. Sure enough there were paparazzi inside. My thoughts had been correct. This was just great.

Flashes of lights on the cameras almost blinded me as we entered the lobby. Questions I couldn’t hear were being asked of the boys. Instead of answering, the five of them herded us over to the elevators and stepped inside behind us when the door opened.

After the elevator doors shut, all six of us girls were a bit nervous. None of us had ever experienced this kind of thing. We were just six normal girls from the suburbs of the Twin Cities, of all places. But, now that we were hanging out with One Direction, we were worthy of attention.

“That was…interesting…: Ana said quietly.

“Sorry about that. The paparazzi can be a little overwhelming at first,” Liam said.

Niall looked at Liam with a slight expression of surprise. “At first, they’re overwhelming? No, they can be overwhelming all the time…”

“You get what I mean, right?” Liam asked. Niall nodded, and Liam smiled.

“Don’t worry about it, you guys. We can get used to it over time,” Lucy assured them. When Niall wasn't looking, Lucy held up her fingers and pretended to take a picture. The rest of the boys all started to laugh, and Niall seemed confused. But he didn't see what Lucy did, and that made us laugh more.

We all smiled at each other as the doors slid open. I spoke up, and said, “Who wants to go to the waterpark?”

“I’d be up for it,” Louis responded, grinning.

“Okay, then let’s get our swimsuits on and we meet you out here in ten minutes?” Kelly asked.

“That’s fine by me. See you then,” Harry said, and we went our separate ways into our suites.

------------------

The girls and I had all changed clothes into our swimsuits and bathing suit cover ups. I was wearing a black and white polka dot tankini under my jean shorts and plain white t-shirt.

We all were on our way out the door to find the boys when I stopped Kelly in the doorway. The other four girls continued on into the hallway as I said, “Can I talk to you now, Kelly?”

Kelly nodded, and shut the door. I leaned against the wooden “log cabin” wall as she turned to me and leaned against the counter, her hands resting against her sides. She had on a plain violet one piece swimsuit, probably better for a water park, but whatever.

“What’s wrong Kelly?” I asked her. “You seemed down when we left the restaurant earlier today.”

Kelly sighed, and began to speak. “It’s nothing, Lizzie. Just a realization I should have already made.” She sighed again, and I noticed her enthusiasm was still missing.

“What do you mean?” I asked, not understanding what she was hinting at.

“You and the rest of the girls all thought I had a chance with Zayn. But I don’t. He said at the restaurant that we were just friends. It wasn’t even possible anyway. I’m just me, Kelly Emily Gonzalez, small town girl, and he’s Zayn Javaad Malik, the famous member of One Direction. It’s just not possible.”

Geez, our sweet Kelly was having some self-esteem issues. That wasn’t normal at all. Now I knew I had to help her. But I already had a response anyway. “Did it ever occur to you that he said that to protect us from the fans? Or that he is still deciding what he feels about you? Or, better yet, he just is too nervous to admit he likes you?” I responded.

“I didn’t think about that,” Kelly said quietly.

“That’s exactly what I mean, Kelly. We’ll see how this plays out,” I told her with a smile, opening the door and holding it open for my friend as the two of us left to find the rest of the group.

-----------------------

“Woo hoo!” I yelled as the inflatable tube I was riding slid through the tunnels of Whirly Bird Run and crashed into the Crooked Creek, the name of the lazy river here.

I was riding one of the waterslides here in a two person tube with Courtney. I was in the front of the tube, so I got the full blast of crashing into the water. We had mainly stayed out of sight of other tourists so the boys wouldn’t be able to be recognized. As far as I knew, it had worked.

“That was fun,” Courtney observed as we maneuvered the tube to the side of the river.

“Wasn’t it?” I responded as our tube hit the wall hard. We grabbed the top of the wall and were now able to get out. I pushed myself out of the tube with a smile and hit the pool deck, slightly scraping my knee. But pool decks were rough, so I expected it.

Courtney followed me out, and we pulled the tube out of the water behind us. “Should we go track down the rest of the group?” I asked her.

“Sounds good to me,” Courtney responded, and we quickly brought our tube to the pile of available ones near the side of the river. Then, the two of us strolled over towards Totem Towers and climbed the stairs to a loft-like area that was set up for people to stay in. Nobody else was over here except for the group of eleven of us.

Each of them was sitting on a deck chair, leaning back against the back of the chairs. Simone noticed us first. “You’re back! Was the slide fun?” She asked us curiously.

“Yeah, it was tons of fun!” You should know that, Simone. You’ve been here plenty of times, haven’t you?” Courtney said. Simone shrugged in response.

“Anyway, we should do something here as a group, don’t you think?” I asked them all.

“Okay, that sounds great. What can we go and do?” Liam asked.

“Well, there’s the Crooked Creek, which is the lazy river, Whirly Bird Run, Frog Bog Log Walk,” Lucy began, and continued on to list what they could do.

“What’s Frog Bog Log Walk?” Niall inquired.

“There’s this rope ladder kind of thing about five feet or so over a pool of water. Then there are a few waterproof leaves about two feet or so long that float on top of the water and are anchored down in the pool. You use the rope and the floating leaves to cross over the water,” Ana explained. “They’re pretty fun, at least to me.”

“Ah,” Zayn nodded, leaning back in the deck chair, pushing the back of the chair down farther towards the pool deck. “I get it now.”

“So what should we do?” Simone asked all of us.

“We could ride that waterslide over there,” Louis suggested, pointing at a huge waterslide. It was so high off the ground; it seemed to have hundreds of stairs leading to the top. “It seems like it could be fun,” he said.

“Yeah, it could be fun. But we have to go in groups. The most that can ride at a time is four,” I informed them.

“How about everyone chooses a partner, and whoever is left will be the third one on the last tube?” Liam suggested.

“Fine by me,” Simone said. “And I’ll be that odd one out,” she winked at the rest of the girls and I.

I rolled my eyes, and the rest of the girls began to partner up. Louis stood up and walked over to me. “Hey, Liz, want to be partners?” He asked me.

I smiled at him. “Sure, Louis,” I said in response. “I’d love that.” That was one group, and I was pretty sure who the rest of the girls would partner with.

I was right. The other girls had partnered with their favorite member of 1D. That was unexpected. Note the sarcasm, people!

Anyway, the groups had put themselves together like this: Louis and I were taking one tube with Harry and Ana; Zayn, Liam, Kelly, and Courtney were in the second tube, and Niall, Lucy, and Simone took the last tube.

We all walked over to the ride, which we found that its name was the Howlin’ Tornado, and began to climb the many flights of stairs to reach the top.

Harry asked, “Who actually has ridden this ride before?”

Nobody answered his question at first, then, finally, Kelly said, “I’ve been on it once. It’s a bit scary.”

“It can’t be as scary as Tower of Terror, or Dragon Challenge at Universal,” Ana observed, shuddering slightly. “Ugh. Inverted rollercoasters are not fun.”

Harry nodded. “Rollercoasters in general aren’t fun,” he agreed.

The two of them smiled at each other. Courtney quickly nudged Ana, and whispered something in her ear. Ana blushed, and said, “Courtney, go to the corner,” quietly.

Courtney rolled her eyes, and the boys looked confused, while the rest of us girls laughed a bit, understanding what Ana meant. She looked at all of them, and said, “It’s a very long and complicated story…”

“We’ve got time,” Niall laughed.

Ana opened her mouth to explain what she was going to say, but stopped. She seemed to be looking at two girls who were in front of us in line. One was blonde, her hair pulled into a high ponytail, and the other had darker skin, her dark hair pulled into a long braid.

Lucy tapped Ana on the shoulder. “What are you doing?” She asked her.

“Don’t those girls seem familiar to you?” Ana asked us in response.

“They look like those girls from school, Justine and Ariana,” Lizzie observed.

When the names were said, the two girls turned around and faced us. Yup, it was Ariana and Justine, all right. The darker haired one was Ariana, and the blonde was Justine.

“Yeah, that’s us,” Ariana said. She then recognized us “Hey, I haven’t seen you all since school ended!” She said with a smile.

“That was, like, four days ago,” Simone said quietly, so the rest of us could hear, but not Justine and Ariana.

Then Kelly spoke up again. “Guys, this is Justine and Ariana. Justine and Ariana, this is-.” she paused for just a second, looking at the boys. Her expression asked them if they wanted to be identified or not.

Harry answered her unspoken question with three words. “Hey, I’m Harry,” he said. He must have trusted them, probably because we seemed to.

“I’m Niall,” Niall told the two of them, a smile on his face.

“Nice to meet you two, I’m Liam,” Liam greeted them.

“Hi! I’m Louis!” Louis exclaimed, but quieter than normal, so the people behind us or in front of the two girls wouldn’t realize they were there.

“Hello, I’m Zayn,” Zayn told them with a smile.

Justine’s eyes widened. “Is that-.” She began.

The two of them finished the sentence together. “One Direction?” They asked.

Courtney smiled. “Yeah, that’s One Direction. You aren’t going to freak out and blow their cover, are you?”

Ariana laughed. “Me? No, of course I won’t tell. But Justine might freak out…” she grinned.

“Is Justin Bieber with you?” Justine asked excitedly, her eyes wide with anticipation and hope.

Here, let me explain this to you. Justine was probably one of the biggest Justin Bieber fans at our school. She had told everyone that her name would be, in the future, Justine Bieber. Go ahead and laugh, I know it’s funny. They would be Justin and Justine Bieber. Exactly.

Did I mention she was also known as a weird girl at our school? I guess not, but you’ll see soon enough, most likely.

We all shook our heads, telling her that Justin wasn’t with us. “Dang it…” Justine sighed as the line continued up the stairs toward the ride.

“So, why are you with One Direction right now?” Ariana asked curiously.

“Well, it’s kind of a long story…” Lucy began. “Then again, we do have time,” she laughed, and we all laughed along with her. “Anyway, you know how a while ago the six of us were fighting a lot?”

Justine nodded. “Yeah, of course I remember. I could see all the fights you had from my locker!” She exclaimed. “I think the last time you were fighting; I was putting a locker poster in my door!” Three guesses what the poster was of…

“Well, when we were just on the verge of ending our friendship, we discovered these guys right here!” Simone exclaimed, motioning to the boys.

“We wrote them a letter to thank them for what they had done…” Ana began.

“When we got it, we thought it was incredible that we could have done something like that for them, so we came to see what they meant,” Liam explained.

“And we saw that they were much better friends, and that they’re lovely girls,” Zayn said as the six of us girls blushed slightly. “So we decided to stay for the summer.”

Justine nodded in response, and then asked, “So there isn’t Justin Bieber, then?”

Ariana playfully slapped her friend’s shoulder. “Gosh kid! Are you obsessive much?” She asked with a smile. All of us started to laugh at what Ariana did, earning stares from the people behind us. When they looked at us, we went silent, and the boys turned so their faces wouldn’t be seen. We all continued to climb up the stairs.

As we climbed, all of us smiled at each other. Then Justine spoke up again. “So, you’re going to be with them the whole summer then?”

“Yeah, that’s what we’re planning on. Don’t tell anyone you saw us, though. We’re trying to keep a low profile, okay?” Louis asked.

“Of course we won’t tell. Just remember us, and give Justin my number next time you see him!” Justine grinned as she recited her cell phone number.

Ariana sighed. “Again, you are obsessed, Justine,” she told her as we all laughed.

Niall quietly memorized it, and said, “Alright, next time I see him, I’ll tell him.”

By that time, we had already reached the top of the stairs and the beginning of the slide. Ariana and Justine put their tube on the slide. They sat down on the tube, and with a quick wave to us, they were let go and slid down the slide. They were gone.

“Well, then I guess it’s our turn,” Harry observed as the first group of us carried our tube over to the slide. We set it down and settled down on it. I made eye contact with Louis, who was sitting on my left, and smiled at him.

He smiled back at me, and sooner than we thought, we were beginning to go down the slide. I saw Ana, who was across from me; hold on tightly to the tube handles. Oh, she must have been having memories of a backwards ride…I’ll tell you about that later, or leave that to Ana.

The tube slipped into the tornado section and it spun around and around before going down the center hole in it, kind of comparable to what happened to Veruca Salt in the Nut Room.

I finally made the decision to shut my eyes. I did so, and kept them squeezed shut as I gripped the handles of the tube.

I felt the tube continue down the tunnel. Finally, I heard a splash. The ride was over now. But then I heard another splash. I opened my eyes, and saw that Louis had hopped out of the tube and was pulling it to the end of the pool.

Ana looked over at me, and said, “Okay, I know that I was scared, but you looked terrified, Lizzie.”

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever. I just was…pretending I was falling toward the furnace like Veruca Salt!” I lied. “Yeah! I was pretending to be Veruca Salt!”

Ana saw through my ruse. “Don’t lie,” she said as she hopped out of the tube and pushed herself out of the pool.

Louis and Harry laughed at the two of us having our little debate. Harry and I both got out of the tube as well, and the three of us pushed ourselves out of the pool. We pulled the tube out of the pool and brought it over to the pile.

As we walked, Louis’s hand brushed against mine. We shared a look, and he smiled at me again. “Sorry,” he apologized.

“No, it’s fine, Lou,” I responded as we dropped the tube off.

Louis smiled, and then intertwined our fingers together, keeping the smile. I blushed just slightly, only turning my face slightly pink.

This wasn’t what I expected, but I was perfectly fine with it.

A/N Hey everyone! I hope you guys all liked this chapter! I finally got the waterpark into the story! Yay!

Video of the chapter: great wolf lodge going down the tornado

And, just so you know, I am typing the names of those videos exactly as they're written, so that's why the one above isn't capitalized. I would have if I could have, but I think it's just better for the creators of the videos. You get the point, right?

Picture of the chapter: Justin Bieber (be very happy, "Justine" because I know you'll see this).

Vote and comment! I love you!
