Today's theme: Hanahaki

So for those of you who don't know what the hanahaki disease is (tho I believe most probably do), it's a make-believe disease that is spawned by unrequited love. So if you feel your crush doesn't love you back, you start throwing up flower petals and blood until eventually you die. It's kind of dark and I'm not even sure I'm getting all the key points of it, but I love the concept. I thought it was a real condition at first when I heard about it....
But anyway, as far as my knowledge, different people have different flower petals. For David I chose a lily because according to flowermeaning.com (I only know this website from art class don't judge me!) it symbolizes innocence and liveliness. Both qualities that normally would associate with David.
For Gwen I did a yellow flower. It was supposed to a daffodil, but I don't even know if yellow daffodils exist. Yellow flowers are a symbol of rejection, disappointment or even unrequited love itself. I feel like Gwen has more "issues" per say than David so she needed a more (I hate to say it like this but) depressing flower.
They are both holding handkerchiefs with blood on them. I tried to make it not too subtle but not like overboard....
Anyway, I think this came out alright. I used recolor to color it again, but the lines aren't as shaky as usually which was nice. Forgive me for messing up on Gwen's hair color tho 😬
