Chapter 8: GIVE HIM HIS PHONE BACK

Mitch's POV (woah what)

“Hello?” the person asks. That's not Ty.

“Hi, I'm Mitch. W-Who is this?” I ask shakily.

“This is Quentin, you idiot. Calm down, you sound like you're talking to a murderer.” Oh. Quentin. Good, not a kidnapper.

At least, he wasn't the last time I checked.

“Why do you have Ty's phone?” I ask.

“Well, Jocelyn had it first. She was trying to text Sky something stupid to make her think Ty was breaking up with her.”

“I think they already broke it off somehow, considering Sky is cuddling up to Jason and he's comforting her.”

“What!? Oh, butts, I missed all the drama! Why do I always miss all the drama?” Quentin groans. Suddenly, there's a scuffling sound. “No! You crazy lady, just leave Ty and Sky alo-” He hands up on me.

A few seconds later, Sky's phone buzzes. She pulls it out and glances at the screen before sniffling and shoving the phone into Jason's hands. “Hey Sky, just wanna apologize for ever believing you were worth even a second of my time. You're an ugly, moronic, sorry excuse for a girlfriend, which is why I'm breaking up with you. Love, Ty,” Jason reads. Sky is crying again, and I can practically see the steam rising out of Jason's ears.

“Woah, calm down, guys,” I say quickly. “It's from Jocelyn. That was Quentin on the phone, and he said Jocelyn was trying to text Sky something to make Sky and Ty break up.”

Sky nods and closes her eyes. I'm not sure if she believes me or not. “I-It's okay. We already sort of broke up, anyways.”

I call Ty's number again. “Hello?” a girl answers.

“GIVE TY HIS PHONE BACK,” I demand.

She shrieks. “Ack! Calm down! Who even is this?”

“Mitch, Ty's close friend! And who are you!?”

“Jocelyn, Ty's girlfriend!”

“Uh-huh, since when?”

“Since a few seconds ago when he asked me out!” she replies. Oh, snap, now I'm kind of regretting putting this on speakerphone as soon as she first said 'hello.'

“He what?” Sky cries.

“Yeah, we're gonna go to Fazoli's tonight at eight!” Jocelyn cheers.

“I never agreed to that!” a boy's voice comes faintly through the phone. “Notch dang it, Jocelyn, give me my phone back!”

“Oops, gotta go, Mitch! Talk to you later!” Jocelyn squeals.

“What? No, give Ty his phone bac- Ugh,” I moan. She hung up.

Jason stands up, helping Sky to her feet as well. “Well, guys, Sky and I are gonna do something other than hug in my bedroom,” he says, leading her toward the stairs.

“What exactly are we going to do?” Sky asks.

“We're going to go.. uh... we're going to go ice skating.”

“Ice skating?”

“Yes. It'll be fun!”

Sky giggles quietly, but a few tears still drip down her face. “Okay. Let's do it!” They run down the stairs and out the door, and I can hear Jason's car starting up and pulling out of the drive way.

Jerome, Ian, and I stare after them. “Um... Well. This seems complicated,” Jerome comments.

I nod. “Definitely.”

“Maybe, instead of having Skymu vs Skylox fights, they should just make Skyloxuniverse happen.”

I shove Jerome lightly. “Dude, no. Jason and Ty are, like, enemies right now, anyways.”

He laughs. “I don't know, it could happen!”

Ian rolls his eyes. “Ty is not happy with Jason at the moment, and he certainly isn't in love with him.”

“At the moment,” Jerome adds. Ian facepalms.

“Ty was wanting me to help him make a budder cake for Sky. He wasn't doing anything for Jason. Anyways, he was buying ingredients for the cake when he stopped answering calls,” Ian says.

“Well, he seems kind of busy now,” I point out. “You know, with Jocelyn and Quentin and all that jazz.” (Shut up, I'm aware that Mitch never says this.)

“Yup. Should we maybe go find him and help him out, or..?”

“Nah, I'm sure he's fine.”

☼☼☼

I apologize for the short chapter. Darn it, me and my inconsistently updated, short filler chapters. I'm sorry. Next chapter will be from Ty's POV. Or Quentin's, idk, but I do know it'll show the scene where Jocelyn takes Ty's phone.

Okay, guys. Wow. Half of you want Skylox and think Skymu is poop, half of you want Skymu and think Skylox is overdone anyway, and half of you want Skyloxuniverse.

Shut up, math is not my strong point.

Anyways, I feel really stupid (and not just cause of the three halves thing). See, I knew what 'skyloxuniverse' meant when I made this book. And I knew I wasn't planning on actually making Jason, Ty, and Sky all get together. So why did I make “Skyloxuniverse Genderbend” the book's title?

Well, at the time, I was thinking, “Hey, it'll either be Skylox or Skymu, so I'll just call it Skyloxuniverse!” Uashghsfgk, I'm sorry. I really don't feel comfortable with making a three-way kind of thing. Then again, half a year ago I didn't feel comfortable with writing boyxboy stuff, and now I've got I Hate Skylox, Don't Judge the Love, and a whole bunch of jokey Skylox and Ssunkipz stuff in Remind Me.

For this book, though – and I'm really, really sorry for this – I will not be writing actual Skyloxuniverse.

Should I change the title? I don't want it to be misleading, and it sort of is right now...

Plus, Skyloxuniverse Genderbend is, like, the most un-creative name ever. Sure does tell readers a lot about my creativity. -.-
