She woke up and yawned, picking herself up. She stretched her aching legs and padded outside, she headed straight for the fresh-kill pile, and picked out a vole, and carried it over to her favorite eating place, right between the warriors den and the nursery. She loved to hear the exited mews if the oldest kits, the ones almost ready to become apprentices. They would carefully copy the apprentices battling moves while the younger kits would play moss-ball or warrior and mice. I miss those days, when all you had to worry about was when the next meal was or if it was warm enough to play outside. Skystar thought, but pushed the thought aside. She took a large bite out of her vole and swallowed. She took another bite and realized she dewfall was padding over, she swallowed and got up, just as dewfall reached her, " Could you leave with the border patrol? " Skystar nodded and pelted over to join them, doestripe was in the lead. She let them leap down and then spread her wings, she raced off and glided down to the rest of the patrol.

They were patrolling the Iceclan border when they saw a few cats padding along their side, Skystar slightly recognized Hairtail and feathermist, but she could not recognize the last one. They raced over, and Skystar padded to the front, " Why are you in our territory?! " She hissed, and Hairtail whipped around, " Why would we explain ourselves to a Magicclan cat?! " The small cat unsheathed their claws , but Feathermist hissed to them, " Sheathe your claws, Kinkpaw! " The apprentice did as told but still held their pose. Skystar spat in reply, " This is our territory, and you do not have any right to be here! " Kinkpaw spat at Skystar, " Your no leader! " And Skystar looked at the young apprentice, " I am, actually. I'm Skystar. " The small she-cat looked stunned, " Oh. I didn't know, I'm sorry. " Skystar nodded slightly and looked back at Hairtail, " Please, tell us why you are here. " Hairtail spat in reply but didn't say any words, he unsheathed his claws and leaped at Skystar.
