Stine drove us to town, where everyone was frozen. I smushed my face against the window, trying to get a better look. "Seems like the Body Squeezers got to have some fun," I chuckled. Stine and the others got out of the car, but Zac slammed the door in my face before I could exit.

I glared at him before laying back in my seat and crossing my arms. Then I got an idea. I then placed my hand against the car's front window, making it glow bright blue. I smiled, knowing I was now able to hear their conversation.

"What are we going to do?" Hannah asked. "Without those manuscripts, there's nothing I can do," Stine said. I grinned happily. "If... if you wrote the monsters off the page, then maybe there's a way you could write them back on," Zac suggested.

My grin went to a frown real quick. "Wait... Yeah, yeah, yeah!" Champ agreed. "Why don't you just do that?" "You have any idea how many stories I'd have to write to capture every monster I've created?" Stine said. "I already have carpal tunnel in both hands."

"Dad, just listen to him. It's a great idea," Hannah said. "Just one. One story to capture them all." "Hmm, simple. Just one, one story, with every monster I've ever created. Brilliant. Really good idea. He's a keeper," Stine said sarcastically.

"You have a better idea?" Zac asked. "Mm-hm, mm-hm. A much better idea." We looked at him for to say something, but he didn't. I raised an eyebrow that Stine couldn't see. "No, not now, I don't." I rolled my eyes.

Of course you don't. "Okay, then we gotta get you to a computer so you can start writing. There's... there's a computer store." Zac was about to run over to it, but Stine said, "No, no, no. I need my typewriter."

"What?" Zac asked. "Every story I've written was on that Smith Corona. It's not just me. That typewriter is special. It has a soul of its own. If I write on anything else, it won't work." "Where's the typewriter?" "Oh, don't worry. It's somewhere safe," Stine said.

Oh, how unlucky for Stine. Unlike my husband and friends, I knew where Stine stored his precious typewriter. Stine was right about the typewriter having a soul of its own. And my soul was connected to it.

The typewriter was at the high school. I needed to tell Slappy. So before they got back into the car, I closed my hands and let a bright blue glow engulf it. When I opened them, a blue monarch butterfly was sitting inside it.

It then turned around and looked up at me. "Hello, little one, I need you to tell Slappy Stine's plan. Alright?" I said. It nodded before flapping its wings and disappearing in a blue dust cloud.

Stine and the teens then got into the car and Stine drove us away from town. As we were driving, Zac was trying to use his phone. "I don't know what's going on with my phone. I can't get reception," He said.

"Slappy's taken out the cell-phone towers," Stine said. "That's what I'd do. He's cutting us off. Isolating us." "Oh, Slappy was always good at carrying out his plans," I said with a few giggles. Suddenly, we heard a thud.

"What was that?" Champ asked. Handprints then appeared on the car window, followed by giggles. "Ugh, it's the Invisible Boy. He's a menace." "No, he isn't. He's wonderful," I said. "Aw, thank you, Boss," Brent said.

Brent then slapped Champ across the face. "Ow!" I laughed out loud. "Good job, Brent!" "Thank you, Boss!" He then grabbed Champ by his tie and shoved him against the window. "Yes, Brent! Yes!" I cheered, pumping my fists into the air.

"Shove him out the window!" "Roll up the window!" "He's got his tie!" "Help, help!" "Hold on!" Stine then stepped on the brakes, making the car go faster. I heard someone tumble to the ground and Brent yelling, "Not cool!" "Hey! He could've gotten hurt!" I yelled.

"Good! He was trying to hurt the kid," Stine said. "Does it look like I care about that kid? You know, I only care about my husband and friends!" Stine huffed before turning to Champ and asked, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. For sure," Champ said. "Wait, look out!" Stine turned back to the road and was able to swerve through broken pieces of the cell towers. We then crashed into something. "Everyone okay?" Stine asked.

All of us nodded. "It came out of nowhere." We then heard... chirps? The thing we crashed into then lifted up, showing it was the leg of something. We looked up at the sunroof and saw the giant head of a praying mantis.

"Mantis!" I cheered. "Grayson?" Mantis chirped. I was the only one who understood Mantis and the other monsters that didn't speak English. "Yeah, it's me, Darling."

"Why aren't you with the boss?" "Blame Stine," I said, pointing at him. Speaking of Stine, he and the teens screamed at the sight of Mantis. "I don't remember writing about a giant praying mantis!" Stine yelled.

"Really? You don't remember Mantis?" I asked. "I'm honestly hurt for him." Mantis then spit on the car's window. "Right. Now, I remember." "Get us out of here!" Zac yelled. Stine then started to wipe his fucking windows.

"What are you doing, Stiney?" "I can't drive if I can't see," Stine said. "Just go!" So, Stine went into reverse and quickly drove us away from Mantis, who started to chase after us. We drove into town with Mantis slamming into a building.

"Oh, Darling, don't hurt yourself!" I called out to him. "I'll be fine, Gray!" Mantis yelled back. Everyone was freaking the hell out with Mantis roaring at us from behind. "Oh my god!" "Watch out!" "Turn left!" "Stop driving straight!" "He's catching up! Turn right!"

"Does someone else wanna drive? I'll pull over right now!" Stine yelled. He continued driving through town like a manic, avoiding Mantis's pincers. He then drove into the parking lot of a super market and crashed into a curb.

The car toppled onto its side, scratching and damaging it. Mantis then emerged out of the woods and spotted the car. He then picked it up with his pincers and used one to open it up.

He chirped in surprise when he saw we weren't it there. What he didn't know was that we had already escaped the car and were hiding in the super market. What we didn't know was that another one of Stine's creations was already lurking in the market...
