I have lived in HCM city since I was born. It is one of the biggest cities in VN with high dynamic attraction and good facilities. It also has enough convenience for everybody to enjoy. But while staying with my relative in a small town for the summer vacation every year, I find out a lot of things different. Although the small town is quiet and peaceful, It is so boring and less convenient and it lack facilities, universities, modern hospitals and perfect public transportation. So, I can’t image how I manage to live in a small town.

HCM city has a population of 8 millions. So the need for travelling always increases. Like other big cities, it has various means of transport such as buses, taxies, cars, Lorries and especially motorbikes. Each family often has more than one whiles the street and old and narrow. Some of them are being widen. This makes blockhouses and air pollution. Besides, people in here by and sell, illegally using the sidewalk. As a result, traffic jams usually happens.

In the centre, there are some high quality avenues, with a lot of luxury shops on the both sides. And the government has a plan to make them walking areas.

As a centre of commerce, economy and education, HCM has a lot of banks, companies, enterprises and high industrial zones including domestic and foreign. This mean that it has a big labour market and it is easy for people to come here for jobs. Also, the system of education is perfect because of many big famous universities and good teachers. Students can study from morning till evening and choose the best way of study.

In the other hand, many people come here for treatment in many large well-known hospitals like: Cho Ray hospital, Children’s Hospital 1 & 2, Tu Du hospital and the Institute of Heart.

Additionally, people can entertain all day and night in some cinemas, theatres, or amusement parks. On weekend, parents often take their children to the zoo or the museum, where they can have fun and watch animals.

Beside conveniences and perfect facilities, HCM also has several problems such as environmental pollution, overpopulation, noise, crime, violence and social ills. Of course the residents are easy to get stressed.

In contrast to the advantage of a big city, a small town often has some problems like lack of facilities and modern hospitals, perfect system of transport, good schools and there’s no choice of work.

I am a young person, so I prefer to live in a big city. I need a change to get promotion of work and schooling.
