PAISLEY, MALIA, AND LUCAS WERE AT LYDIA'S PARTY, talking amongst themselves. "I think I'm going to do it." Paisley and Malia shared confused looks, staring at him. "Do what?"

"I'm going to have a full conversation with Lydia. We always say hi to each other in the hallways and exchange glances but I want to know her better." Malia wiped a fake tear from her eye, "He's all grown up. Can you believe it, Paze?"

"He's still a baby." Paisley teased, causing the boy to give her a look. "I'm not a baby! I'm literally taller than you."

"I'm 4 months older than you so you're a baby." The trio walked over to where Lydia was sitting, only to see a terrible sight. Lydia was kissing Andy. "Andy?" The two broke the kiss, turning around. "Lili, hi... how long were you standing there?"

"We just came over actually. Uh... can we talk?" Andy nodded his head, walking towards her. She dragged him away from her friends and Lydia, causing the boy to blush. "So you and Lydia, huh?"

"Yeah, it happened so fast. If you don't like it, I can just-"

"Andy, I'm happy for you, okay? Lydia is pretty sweet so I'm fine with you two dating. I feel bad for Lucas though." Andy furrowed his eyebrows, "Why do you feel bad for him?"

"You know how him and Lydia say hi in the halls and they always smile at each other?"

"Yeah. What about it?"

"Well, he likes her. He was going to talk to her when we saw you kissing her." Andy felt guilt wash over him as he looked back at Lucas. All this time he was jealous of the boy being around Paisley when the boy only saw her as a friend. He was falling for another girl just to have them stolen by Andy. "Shit, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done any of that with Lydia. I didn't even know."

"You should go up to him and talk to him yourself. I'm gonna look for Malia. Later, Andy." As Paisley left him, Andy walked over to Lucas. "Can we talk?"

"Who are you talking to?" Lucas asked, knitting his brows together. "I'm talking to you. It'll be quick."

AWKWARD SILENCE EMERGED BETWEEN THE TWO AS they walked next to each other. "I'm sorry for kissing Lydia. You really like her and I ruined your chance to be with her."

"It's not like I had one. You're Andy Goldfarb, dude. You think the girls in our grade like me? You're the one that they all want."

"Well, I don't really like them like that." Lucas stared at him in confusion, "What do you mean by that? Don't you like Lydia?"

"Well, I do... but-"

"But? Hold on, you like someone else?"

"No... No? No, no! I don't."

"You hesitated! Who is it?"

"I'm not telling you."

"I won't tell anyone. I promise." Andy sighed, rolling his eyes. "Fine. I like Paisley." he whispered, causing the boy to smirk. "Why are you looking like that?"

"Dude, it's very obvious that you do. Everyone can see that."

"Wait, really?"

"You're not good at being discreet."

"Fine, I do. But I figured that maybe I should move on since she'll never like me back.

"But... you still have feelings for her."

"Ugh, why is this so hard? I thought that if I date Lydia, it would go away. But it's still there!"

"Andy, calm down. I'm not mad that you're with her but just don't hurt her, okay? She's... she's really sweet."

"Okay, lover boy. I won't. So... we're cool?"

"Yeah, we're cool."

But promises are always hard to keep.
