In the darkness Snowsilver slips out of the warriors den. He traces the camp clearing, pushed against the dark, shadowy, wall. He pads towards the entrance.
When he gets to the entrance he pauses, wondering if he really should do this.
He begins walking again, walking straight past the guard.
"Where are you going?" The brown tom guarding the camp entrance asks.
Snowsilver stops and turns his head to face the tom, "Well Brackenfur, my real Family is out there somewhere, and I'm going find them."
His former mentor is speechless.
Snowsilver turns to the dirt place to wait for Goldsparrow.
He peers into the camp and watches the golden she-cat slip out of the warriors den.
She comes through the dirt place tunnel.
"So you're coming?" Snowsilver asks, not even looking at her.
"No," Goldsparrow mews, "I came to say sorry and to wish you luck," she pauses, "And to give you something."
"Give me what?" Snowsilver turns his head to face her and tilts his head.
Goldsparrow licks his cheek, "I'll never forget you," she whispers.
Snowsilver shakes his head, "I'll never forget you either," he turns and gets ready to leave, "a part of me will always love you Goldsparrow, I'm sure. Even if you're having someone else's kits."
He bounds off through the territory as a tear rolls down his cheek.
