Valars' Light

T.A.2500

Greenwood

3rd POV

It happened all so fast. Everything was fine and in a split second it crumbled. Lìvia ran off, with Legolas running after her.

Celebrían was about to go after them, but Elrond stopped her.

"No, let them work it out themselves."

"Someone needs to follow them." She protested.

That is when Elladan and Elrohir walked up to them. Arwen was trying to calm down the other elves down.

"Elrohir, go see if you can find them." Elrond said

Elrohir nodded and left.

"What's the damage, Elladan?"

"One elf fainted, others are saying she's "Valars' light.""

"Well, that went better than in Rivendell. We had three elves faint." Celebrían stated.

"What was all that? Why did her hair glow?" Thranduil asked.

"Were you not listening? She's Valars' light." Regeína exclaimed.

"Ada? What's "Valars' light?"" Elladan asked.

"Its an old story, a myth to others." Elrond explained. "In the First Age, it said one from the Valar, an Elleth had the gift to show people the light, even in the darkest places. Give them hope when there was none. She had white hair, and when the moon was full her hair would glow."

"Later, they say she became a star. And to this day she still guides people out from darkness. When the moon is full, they say she is the brightest star of them all." Regeína finished.

"How did she become a star?" Elladan asked.

"I can not recall, that story has been pasted down for centuries."

Lìvias' POV

To be honest, I have no clue where Im running to. Finding answers? I don't know. I've heard it somewhere, I've read it somewhere, but where?

I headed for the library, there is bound to have something on it.

I could hear footsteps behind me. I it was Legolas, he was following me.

Once I made it to the library, I started pulling out books. As I flipped through the pages trying to find, something, anything really about Valars' light.

I was getting frustrated, nothing so far. As I continued to look, I heard a familiar voice.

"What are you doing?"

I looked up and saw Legolas, at the doorway. I sighed and kept looking.

"Have you ever considered the fact that I wanted to be alone?" I asked, still looking.

"I don't consider much."

I smiled.

"You know," He said coming closer, as a still looked. "if people want to be alone, they usually go to their room, or hide somewhere, but not in the library."

Still grabbing books, I replied.

"Of course you do. No, on comes to the library."

"True. But, really what are you doing?"

"Dancing. What does it look like I'm doing?"

"Sorry, I asked."

"No, I'm sorry. I'm trying to find answers."

"Answers to what?"

"To why, everyone was calling me, Valars' light." I replied tossing the book into a pile, and grabbed another book off the shelf.

"Why didn't you just say so?"

"You were the one, who did not believe me." I said flipping through the pages.

"I never said that."

"Well, you sure did act like it. - A haha!" I exclaiming, placing the book down.

"Find it?" Legolas asked coming beside me.

"I think so."

""VALARS' LIGHT

Long ago, long before the first age. Middle-earth was blessed by the Valar, who sent one of their own, to show them back to the light. An Elleth, she was, with long white hair, that almost touched the ground, and brown/golden eyes.

Her name was Láyla, they say.

When the moon turned full, her white hair would glow. Saying she was the light even in the darkest place. Could give you hope when there was none.

Her time in Middle-earth, she friended not only elves, but all the people of Middle-earth. But could not love, it was her price of staying. For if she loved, she would leave and suffer.

One day, Láyla came upon an Elven warrior. One who won many battles, but never boasted of them. When their eyes fell on one another, it was love.

But she could not love, it could not be. She told him she could help him find the light of another. Though he did not want another, he wanted her.

Filled with sadness and grief, the great warrior killed himself. The Elleth begged the Valar to spare him, bring him back.

They questioned her way, she told them she loved him.

For loving someone, they told her she would leave and suffer. She thought she could see the warrior again. And suffer she did, taking the form of a star, never seeing her true love.

Her job, then was to bring lovers together, under the same star. To this day, when the moon is full, she is the brightest star of them all. Still bringing people out of the dark.""

"That it?"

"Yea. But it does not explain why elves were calling me Valars' light." I said closing the book.

"Wish I could help. Why don't I help you put the books up?"

I smiled.

Elrohirs' POV

Who knew t was so hard to find your sister and a Prince?

I knew Legolas followed Lìvia, so she did not head to her room, or ours'. I headed for the kitchen, next to Elladan and me she eats a lot.

It felt like I checked everywhere, except for the one place, that I should of checked first.

The library.

(Now, how do I get there?)

~~~
Lìvia's POV
It didn't take long, but we put all the books, back on the shelf, except for one.
"Lìvia? Why do you have that one out?"
"Because, I still want answers." I told him, looking up at him.
"Answers to what?"
We turned to the voice seeing Elrohir standing at the doorway, out of breath. I swear I say Legolas go pale.
"Elrohir, how did you find us?" I asked..
"Well, it wasn't easy. I looked everywhere, but here."
I looked at Legolas.
"Told you."
"Alright, library, I'll make a note."
"What's this?" Elrohir asked, walking over to me, and taking the book.
"It's a book Elrohir. You know when someone wants to know about something or someone, they get a book about it, and you know where they get books? The library." I stated, smiling.
Legolas chuckled, but Elrohir rolled his eyes.
"Alright, miss Sassy. Really what's this book about?" He asked again, this time looking at the book. "Valars' Light? Why do you want to know about this?"
"Because, that's what all the elves were calling me."
"Speaking of which, we are missing the festival. Now, let's put this behind us, just for tonight, and let's go to the festival. Okay?"
I nodded, putting the book back. Leaving the library, we headed back to the celebration.
