~"I'm never going to dance again. The way I danced with you."~

~~~
"And now for the first dance."
Usually, the first dance when coming of age is; if you are an Ellon, it is with your Mother, and if you are an Elleth, you dance with your Father.
But, Legolas chose the next best Elleth to dance with.
A smile crossed my face as Legolas held Eleaíns' hand, walking into the center of the rooms floor.
I stood on the platform, along with the other musicians. The music started to play, the same time they started to dance, I then started to sing.
"I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.
And yet you fill to eat, but keep that hunger.
My you never take one single breath for granted.
-Valar forbid love ever leave you empty handed.
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
When ever one door closes I hope one more opens.
Promise me that you'll give faith the fighting chance.
And when give the choice, to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance. I hope you dance."
~~~~

"Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking.

Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth making.

Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter.

If you come close to selling out reconsider.

Give the heavens above, more than just a passing glance.

And when give the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance. I hope you dance."

~~~~
I did one last song, picking up the violin, I watched Legolas pick another Elleth. She had red hair, and green eyes, younger than him, maybe even younger than me.
~~~~

"You look lovely." I heard Legolas say coming up behind me, a glass of wine in hand.

(Three more years.)

He wore pale green and blue colored robes. They are the colors of Spring, in our culture.

"Thank you. I see you started dancing with a few 'Elleths.'"

"Yes, though I wish my second dance was with you."

"Forgive me. Someone had to play the  violin. Or there would have been no dance."

"I appreciate that. You play and sing very well."

"Thank you. Who was the redhead 'Elleth' you danced with?"

"Is this jealousy I hear?"

I smiled rolling my eyes.

"Yes, I would be jealous of drunk female elves, dancing with you."

"Just so you know she was not drunk. She's a year younger than me. Her name is Tauriel."

(I see. Off to a great start, Lìvia.)

"Forgive me, it was wrong to assume."

"You are forgiven."

"Though it looks like I got competition then."

"Competition for what?"

"A dance."

"So this is jealousy."

"Your ignorance is showing."

"But, you are jealous."

"Of what?"

He leaned and whispered in my right ear.

"You are jealous that I can drink before you."  He then moved back looking at me with a grin on his face.

I smiled.

"I should slap you. But since this is your celebration, - so not now."

"How thoughtful." He replied sarcastically.

"Let it be your present." I continued.

"Oh, what a wonderful gift." He continued begin sarcastic.

We both ended up laughing.

"Well, I better be moving, looks like you got some more dancing to do." I said, motioning my goblet, in the direction of the two elves.

Legolas followed, where the two Elleths, whispered to themselves then argued.

I started chuckling, knowing what they where saying.

"What are they saying, Lìvia?"

"They are arguing over who gets to dance with you first."

He sighed, and I smiled.

"Save me, please." He begged, but my smile grew.

"You find this awfully amusing, don't you?"

I nodded.

"Yes, very. I have never seen you so, -desperate for help." I said looking back at him, smiling.

This time he smiled. I noticed the two Elleths, making their way towards us.

"I believe this is where I take my leave."

Legolas nodded.

"Do not go far. After I dance with them, I wish for a dance with you."

I smiled.

"Of course, Prince Legolas."

"I told you not to call me that."

"I know." I sang walking away.

~~~
The festive music played, everyone clapping to the beat, and danced even if the floor was full. They sang to the songs at the top of their lungs even if it was not the words to them.
I watched Legolas dance with an ashy blonde hair elf. Whom surprisingly, I have never seen before.
I then got a tap on the shoulder, turning to see Eleaín, who smiled and I smiled back.
"Lady Lìvia, its go to see you again. My have you grown."
"Its good to see you as well, Eleaín."
"I heard there was to be a full moon tonight. Though it does not look like it." She said very sadly, taking a sip of her wine.
I looked up at the clouded sky, not a star or moon in sight.
"Yes, the clouds choose not to clear." I said quite relived.
I did not need to be the center of attention tonight. This is Legolas' night.
"I am surprised that the Prince has not asked for a dance with you yet."
"He has, after he dances with this Elleth and one other. He then wishes for a dance with me."
"Ah, yes, Silvia. Her father is Captain of the Guard."
"How was your dance with, Legolas?"
"Memorable."
I smiled.
"I am glad."
"You sang and played very lovely by the way."
'Hanna le.'
Just then the dance ended, we all clapped. I noticed Legolas looking my way. I smiled and he smiled back, though I caught the glare from Silvia, and I just looked the other way.
"They are just jealous of you, Lìvia. Do not let her get to you."
"Why, are they jealous of me?"
"Because, Legolas is interested in you, he talks to you. He has no intention to talk with anyone else.
"I know he had no intention of dancing with anyone."
I mean it is true, I have watched him all night, showing little interest in all the Elleths he danced with. Showed a few fake smiles, and laughs.
"Except you." She said facing me.
"And why is that? I am no different than any other 'Elleth' here."
"You do not care for his title, like the others do. You also have spent more time with him. In fact the only reason he is dancing with other 'Elleths' is at the Kings' request."
I nodded.
"Both of you have grown fond of one another, no?"
"He is my friend, Eleaín. Nothing more."
"Mm-hm. I have seen both of you grow, I have also healed your wounds from your few comings. Sometimes you even helped me heal the other elves wounds. Do you remember?" She asked smiling.
"Yes. I do recall those memories." I replied, smiling remembering them.
Eleaíns' smile faded a little.
"Oh, my."
"What is it Eleaín?"
"Silvia. She is walking over here."
I did not bother looking behind me.
"Do not go far, incase this gets out of hand."
She nodded, and walked away, hiding in the crowd.
"You." A voice I only assume is Silvia's.
I turned around facing Silvia.
"I have a name."
"I don't care."
"Fair enough." I said taking a sip form my goblet.
Silvia then walked-stumbled around me, studied me.
"I do not understand." She said in shock, finally stopping in front of me.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"What does the Prince see in you?" She asked, ignoring my statement. "There is nothing special about, simple dress, nothing to fancy, strange hair."
"High exceptions, are we?"
"And a big mouth." She slurred.
I smiled at the complement, Silvia, however did not look amused. She took a step forward, I could smell the wine as she spoke.
"Who is your, Father?"
"Excuse me?"
"If it is not your appearance, that pleases him, then it must be who your father is."
I felt my cheeks get warm.
"I mean truly, you do not even try to make yourself presentable to him."
Oh, I seamlessly forgot to mention that she is wearing every golden piece of jewelry she could possibly own on her, bracelet wise. Not to mention the six rings on both her ten fingers.
She reached over, flicking a strand of my hair back over my shoulder.
"Must I say anything about that?"
It was not the first time, certainly will not be the last that someone disliked my appearance so, but it has been a long time since I have been confronted about it.
I glanced down at my goblet, seeing the water begin to boil.
(Breath.)
I looked back up, hearing the dance end. Behind Silvia, a few elves have noticed her comments.
"I believe you have said enough." I said, as calmly as possible, my eyes looking back at her.
Silvia locked her eyes on me, a second later the goblet was knocked out of my hand, and onto the wooden floor.
I looked down at the floor, seeing the water stain beside the goblet.
(Now, that was just uncalled for.)
"Was that really necessary?" I asked, looking back at her. And her response was, - well let me put it like this, I was facing where my goblet was, at a ninety degree angel.
Yeah, that's right. She slapped me!
(Ouch! That'll sting for awhile. Those rings on her fingers didn't help.)
I heard the gasps of a few by standing elves.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Eleaíns' figure move further back, looking for my brothers if no one else.
~~~

Legolas' POV

I was glad the dance was over, I looked around for Lìvia, but I could not find her. I did however see, Elladan and Elrohir heading my way.

"Hello, Prince Legolas." They said with a dramatic bow.

I sighed.

"Have you two seen Lìvia?"

"Well, hello to you too, and I told you that would be the first thing he would say." Elrohir replied.

"And no, we have not seen her." Elladan finished.

"Why?" They asked.

"She agreed to a dance with me, but I can not find her."

"Hm, our sister ditching a dance with the Prince?" Elladan asked.

"Why, that does not sound like our sister at all." Elrohir finished.

I sighed again, they are such a big help. Just then Eleaín appeared breaking out through the crowd, panting.

"Eleaín, are you alright?" I asked, concerned.

She nodded coming closer.

"Thank the Valar I found you three."

"Lady Eleaín, what's wrong?" Elladan asked.

"Lady Lìvia, she-"

Eleaín was interrupted by a bright, white flash. From where I do not know, seemed it just appeared in front of my face.

"You freak!"

That shout belong to Silvia.

Elladan and Elrohir were the first to leave, heading in the direction of the commotion. Eleaín and I quickly followed.

As we continued to walk through the crowd, and the sound of a sword coming out of its sleeve could be heard. All elves gasped, backing away from a certain section of the area.

Once we made it to where all the commotion came from. We could see Lìvia, with a sword to her neck, held by Silvia. There also was a guard on the ground, unmoving.

~~~
Lìvias' POV
I looked back up at Silvia, with the same snarl on her face.
"Who is he?" She asked again.
I did not answer her, and she slapped me again.
"I will ask you again, who-"
"And you will get the same response."
Her hand came up again, ready to slap, but she had the chance, my right hand wrapped around her left wrist.
Silvia tried yanking her arm out of my grasp. But to no avail, her wrist was not leaving, until I threw down her hand, and backed away seeing a fainted color red around her wrist.
"You have nothing in common with him." She said, rubbing her wrist. "Nothing except that necklace." She then looked back up at me. "Give it to me!"
Silvia reached forward, trying to forcefully take it from my neck.
"No!"
Her hand barely touched my necklace, when something white flashed across my eyes.
I heard Silvia cry out in pain. When the light faded I saw the tips of her fingers scorched.
"You freak!"
A guard quickly came up behind Silvia, but only to be knocked to the ground, by her. At the same she knocked the guard down, she pulled out his sword from its sleeve and held it up to my neck.
"That was impressive."
Minus the fact that she almost tripped over her own feet. But she just looked at me with disgust.
(Well, that is what I get for being nice.)
As that thought crossed my brain, Elladans' voice called my name.
"Lìvia!?"
What ever emotionless face I had, it was gone. Mouth dropped, eyes widen, the whole act, saying, that's me! I know them! There know me!
Silvia glanced at my brothers, and I followed her seeing them and Legolas in the crowd, she then looked back to me. Still holding the sword at my neck, she shook her head.
"You have got to be kidding me." She slurred, inching the blade closer.
I heard the elves whisper back and forth to each other, confused glances as well.
"You might have to explain a little more. Some of us may not fully understand, what you are saying." I said, hoping to lighten the mood.
"Do you ever know when to shut your mouth?"
"Do you?"
"You're a Half-blood! You have no right to speak to me like that!" She spatted.
(So much for making it, Legolas' night.)
A few elves gasped, I looked in the direction of my brothers, watching them try to make their way here, but Legolas stopped them.
I will have to thank him later.
"I'm sorry was that an insult?" I asked looking back at her.
"You're-you're, not offended?" She asked, lowering the sword only a little.
"I have heard better insults from orcs. - And its Half-elven, if you're going to insult me do it correctly."
I heard a snicker from the crowd, no doubt it was my brothers or Legolas. It made me crack a smile as well.
"Why does he even like you?"
I could have said a thousand things just then, but bite my tongue, on those few chosen words.
"Maybe its because I actually know something about him. I mean do you even know anything about him? - Or maybe its because I'm not holding a sword to someone else's neck."
"ENOUGH!" Silvia shouted, slinging the sword forward, aiming to take my head off.
I ducked just in time as the sword went over my head, and watching Silvia stumble to the left.
She quickly got her footage back, swinging the sword at me again. Again I dodged her attack.
Then once again she swung the sword, this time I barely missed the blade. This both causes me and Silvia to fall on the ground.
I landed on my side, watching Silvia land with the crack.
"What is the meaning of all this?" King Thranduil asked.
The crowd parted, reviling the King and my Father.
"Lìvia, are you alright?" Ada asked, rushing over to me.
"Yes, I'm fine."
"You had a sword to your neck."
"It was deliberate, 'Ada.'" I said as he helped me up.
A guard came and offered his hand to Silvia, which she took. She held her wrist once she got to her feet, ironically it is the same one she slapped me with.
[Eleaín, we will need a healer after all.]
Eleaín made her way through the crowd, then examining Silvias' hand.
"Ah, yes. Broken wrist I'm afraid, come dear I'll patch you up, and we will get you something for them burn marks. What in Valars' name did you do?"
She didn't answer, but looked at me-in fear.
(Now I'm a bigger freak. Great.)
"Let us take a walk, Lìvian."
~~~

Legolas' POV

I watched my father and Lìvia head for the gardens.

The musicians started playing again and everyone started to dance, like nothing happened.

I noticed Lady Arwen, standing off to the side with her brothers.

(Might as well dance.)

"May I have this dance?" I asked, holding out my hand.

"Of course." She replied smiling, and taking my hand. Also handing her goblet to Elladan.

'Er gwathel se-ttë luume, Haryon Legolas.' The twins stated.

'One sister at a time, Prince Legolas.'

Arwen gave her brothers a look, making them hush real quick.

Walking to the dance floor, the music changed to a slow dance. I just happened to look in the direction of the twins, seeing them giving me a heavy stare.

"I am surprised that you asked me to a dance before my sister." She said as we danced.

"I did, but that got delayed."

~~~
The dance ended, we all bowed to each other, then clapped along with everyone else.
"Thank you for the dance Prince Legolas. The gate is open now, you better hurry before someone notices, your absents."
I nodded.
"Thank you, Arwen."
~~~

Lìvias' POV

The gardens somehow were always lite with light, even at night, lighting the path through the trees, and the flowers.

It reminded me of Lothlóríen.

"May I ask you something, Lìvian?"

"Of course King Thranduil."

"Why did you not fight back?"

I looked at him confused.

"I am afraid I do not understand."

"You have the skill and ability to hold your ground, yet you chose to listen and take it all. Why?" He asked, as we stopped in front of a fountain.

I looked up at the fountain. It was different than the other fountains, this one had a woman, a Queen. She pointed in the direction of the Grey Heavens, just like my mothers' fountain.

I turned back to the King, waiting for my answer.

"Because, I was not going to waste my energy on a drunken, 'Elleth.'"

"How could you have possibly known that she was drunk?"

"She slurred her words, stumbled when she walked, her breath reeked of wine, and for her father to be captain of the guard she held the sword poorly."

I could have sworn I heard something rustle in the bushes.

"Well, I believe we must get back to the celebration." King Thranduil said heading back out of the gardens.

I stayed by the fountain, still believing someone was here. He turned back seeing me in the same spot.

"Are you coming?"

"I will be there shortly." I assured him.

The King nodded and walked away. Once he was out of hearing range I spoke.

"You can come out now, Legolas."

At first there was silence, then the leaves from the bushes rustled. Legolas then appeared out from them.

~~~
Legolas' POV
When I appeared out of the bush, I was surprised that she knew I was here.
"How did-"
"Nothing much gets past my ears."
I smiled, walking towards her. She smiled back as well.
"Right, I forgot about your sensitive ears." I said, now beside Lìvia.
Right then she punched me in the arm.
"Ouch! What was that for?" I asked, rubbing my arm.
"Earlier."
I nodded, still rubbing my arm. But I stopped, seeing Lìvias' hair shine under the moon. I was speechless for a moment, Lìvia must have noticed, her smile faded.
"Legolas? Are you alright?"
I cleared my throat, then spoke.
"Yes. It is just-you still owe me a dance."
~~~

Lìvias' POV

I smiled.

"I suppose, I do."

"Well then. May I have this dance?"

"But, we do not have any music." I said playing with him.

"Who says we need music?" He asked, playing along.

"Then how are we going to dance?"

"We could always make up our own."

"And what do you prefer we do?"

Legolas thought for a moment and then spoke.

"Well, I thought my hand could go here." He said putting his left hand in my right, and raised it up in the air.

"And your other hand could go here." Legolas continued, placing my other hand on his shoulder.

"Then, I put my other hand here." He finished, placing his hand own my back.

"Now what?" I asked looking at him.

"Now, we dance."

Legolas took the first step, I followed after him. We moved in a circle, dancing around the Queens' fountain.

"Thank you." I said as we danced.

"For what, if I may ask?"

"For stopping my brothers getting into the, - disagreement."

"Oh, that was nothing, your are welcome."

We continued to dance, till I broke the silence.

"Why do you like me?"

"Let's not talk about that."

He knew why, I was asking. He heard Silvia's' comments too.

"Please, Legolas."

"Why do you care about what she said? It as never bothered you before."

"Silvia brought up valid points. I do not dress to impress you."

"You never had too, it what makes you, you."

"Oh, how comforting."

"I try."

(At least one of us is.)

"My hair-"

"What about your hair?"

'Mellon.' "Do not act like you were not surprised by it. Valar, all the elves have said something about it."

"Yes, but they were good things."

"Most of the time."

Instead of replying back, Legolas spun me.

"Now what was it, that you were saying?"  He asked, as we continued to dance around the fountain.

"About how-"

Again, Legolas just spun me.

"You were saying?"

"I forgot."

He smiled.

"I'm impressed by the way."

'Hanna le.'

~~~
We danced for what seemed like hours, but I still felt guilty.
"I'm sorry I ruined your big night. I'm sure two 'elleths' fighting was not on your list for tonight."
"Well, not on the top of the list."
I  laughed.
"You know how to make me laugh."
"You are not the only one, who knows about a certain other."
"A certain other? Is that what I am now?"
"You were always special to me."
"Now, we are back to the-"
Legolas spun me again.
"Is that your way of telling me to stop talking?"
"One of my ways."
"Oh, I almost forgot."
We stopped dancing, letting go of each other.
I pulled out a ring from my dress pocket, holding it up by its silver chain in the moon light. The band was also sliver, with three deep blue gems.
"What is this?"
"Your birthday present." I stated handing the ring to him.
"Lìvia."
"Did you really think I was not going to get you anything?"
"Its beautiful. Did you make it?"
"No, but I had my input."
Legolas stared at it in awe.
"Well, come on. Put it on."
He was still silent, looking at the small, object.
"What is the chain for?"
"I knew you probably did not want it on your finger, so I put it on a chain. That way you could wear it around your neck." I explained, as he placed it around his neck.
Now seeing both the ring and the promise we made to each other.
"It will also be closer to my heart."
