Water flooded into my nightmares, roaring filled my ears and bubbles floated from my mouth to up above me. I struggled to swim to the bright surface of the water but never reached it and instead sunk down into the dark, endless pit of water. When all seemed lost, I opened my eyes. I was underwater, but not far under it. I swam upward with my tired legs and took in a deep breath as I reached the surface. I yowled for help and several Cave-guards came to my aid. When I reached the bank I flopped onto the ground, my legs collapsing under me. Someone had tried to drown me under the Waterfall's cold water. It was a sign, I don't know who or what drowned me, but it was a sign. I should have realized it sooner though.

More and more cats were almost drowning, or other terrible things, like close incounters with falling rocks or swooping hawks. More than normal. What stumped me though, was the fact that no kits, Kit-mothers or To-bes were having these close encounters and the Prey-hunters and Cave-guards who did have these experiences never got any injuries and there certainly no deaths.

It was a sign. We must leave or all who had these close encounters would die a horrible death. As soon as I told the tribe, everyone packed up and left, following the Sun Trail...
