(Flashback)

Soma is now a Junior High Grade 2 Age, and he is sitting at the Headmaster's office as Senzaemon has something to talk to him about. Soma asks, "Headmaster Senzaemon, why did you call me here?"

Senzaemon says, "I want to talk to you about the winner of the Autumn Election Festival: His name is Tsukasa Eishi."

"Tsukasa Eishi, huh...What about him?" Soma asks. "I mean, are you asking my opinion to let him join the Elite 10 Council?"

"That's one of them, the other one is that he is a Perfectionist, he has been persisting teachers to constantly check and advise him on his dishes despite them already being of superb quality. He has a nickname known as the Teacher Crusher." Senzaemon says.

"I see." Soma sighs. "So you want me to use Angel's Eyes to see if he is fit to be a part of the Elite 10? I'll go do that."

After that, Soma goes back into his Phantom disguise as he leaves the office. As he is walking on the hallways, a lot of students are watching in fear of the Phantom who is walking. Soma doesn't pay attention to others until he hears a voice.

"Geez, Tsukasa. You really defeat that senpai with ease." It is a girl's voice, and Soma notices that Tsukasa Eishi is walking with a girl who has red hair. Soma recognizes it as the second place of the Autumn Elections, Kobayashi Rindo, who is also known for using rare ingredients to make delicious meals.

"Are you the Phantom?" Soma hears Tsukasa Eishi talking to him, as he turns around. Rindo says, "Eh? So you are the mysterious Phantom? The one who manages to beat every one of the Elite 10 members to get into the 0th seat, huh."

"I see you two know me." Soma sighs. "The headmaster has asked me to find you, Tsukasa Eishi."

He throws a paper and Eishi takes it, he notices the words, "Tonight at Moon Banquet Hall."

"What's the meaning of this?" Eishi asks.

"You'll know eventually." Soma says as he leaves, much to their confusion.

That night, Soma is still in his Phantom outfit with Tadokoro Yu by his side. He asks, "Are you sure you're going to do this? Phantom?"

"I am sure." Soma replies. "You're going to graduate very soon, and I have a feeling that those two are going to become the next members of the Elite 10."

Yu sighs, "If you say so."

After a while, both Tsukasa Eishi and Kobayashi Rindo arrive, but just as they see both the 0th seat and the 1st seat, they are quite surprised.

"The Phantom and Yu-senpai?" Both of them are surprised, and the Phantom says, "Hello, Tsukasa Eishi and Kobayashi Rindo. I see you manage to come here with my message."

"What is the meaning of this?" Rindo asks. "Why did you ask us to be here?"

Soma says, "It is simple, I will be challenging you to a Shokugeki, Tsukasa Eishi."

"What? Me against you?" Eishi gasps in surprise. "What if...what if I got beaten by you? I can't accept this..."

Suddenly, Eishi goes into panic mode, and Yu turns to Phantom, "So that is his real self?"

"I guess so...I never knew that Tsukasa is a person who is very worried..." Soma sighs.

Eishi says, "But, it will be great if I get to see what's under the mask, right?"

"Oh, now he's back to normal." Rindo says.

"You bet." Soma says. "But if I win, let's say that I get to keep the identity. After all, you just became the winner of the Autumn Elections, it will be very painful for taking something away from you."

"Then I want to join in the battle." Rindo says.

"But..." Yu is interrupted by Rindo as she continues, "I want to do it."

Soma sighs, "Fine, you can have a 2-1 against me. We'll have a course set battle, an appetizer and a main dish. Is that fine for you?"

Eishi says, "I have no objections."

"Then I'll go with the appetizer while you go with the main dish, Tsukasa." Rindo says.

"Of course." Eishi smiles at the girl as they start to work. As for Soma, he starts to cook his own meal as well.

Yu is watching from the stands as he notices how Rindo is using lizards as she is frying them, as for Tsukasa Eishi, he is focusing on the Lobster as he is focusing on it. As for the Phantom, he is doing the Salad and the main dish at the same time, by using the crab for the appetizer while using duck for the main course.

After an hour of making food, they are now finished as Rindo presents her dish first. "This is the Fried Lizard Caesar Salad." Rindo says.

Yu is not the one who likes eating reptiles, but just after he tastes it, he can't help but feel delicious about the meal. The chewiness of the lizard goes well with the salad, and he can't believe that the sauce on the salad is made of fresh berries that go well with it.

But Soma goes with the Crab Cakes, the crab's flavor is spreading throughout the dish as Yu immediately fish it without him noticing. The sauce for this is also made with Tart tart and some onions that go well with the cakes.

Next is the judging for the Main Course, Eishi goes with the Lobster Thermidor, as he manages to extend the flavor of the lobster and even the cheese on top. Surprisingly, each of the flavors isn't fighting against each other and Yu realizes that it is a very good dish.

Soma, on the other hand, goes for the Duck Confit, which is another food from French Cuisine, and he uses Curry and honey to make it better to eat, and after Tsukasa Eishi and Kobayashi Rindo taste his food, they feel like they are in another world of cooking.

"How...how did you make these..." Eishi gasps in shock. "They are very perfect..."

Soma says, "I have years of experience. And if you don't know, some ingredients may be inferior, but if you use the right cooking methods, they can still be great food."

Yu says, "The winner is no other than the Phantom, who manages to continue his identity."

Soma tastes Eishi's dish, and he says, "Your dish is very great, but I think there is something that you lacked."

"Lack?" Eishi asks. "What do you mean? My meal is very perfect..."

"Yes, your dish is perfect because you decide to focus on the ingredients instead of yourself." Soma says. "But it is also why it is imperfect as well. You take a huge risk to leave yourself out of the food, but it seems that you're not into that higher level yet."

Eishi frowns, and Rindo asks, "What about my appetizer? Did I win?"

"Sadly, you just try to focus on the aspect of the rare food, but you focus too much on it that the normal food behind it is just nothing but the plain old salad that even elementary students can make." Yu says. "Phantom's dish, on the other hand, manages to show the flavor of the crabs, and even though, without it, it is still a good appetizer."

"So I guess we both lost..." Eishi sighs.

Soma says, "Don't worry about your loss. After seeing your performance, I know that both of you can reach better heights if you continue working on your specialties. This is just a test to see if you are fit to be a member of the Elite 10 once our 88th generation graduates."

This causes both of them to be delighted, and Rindo asks, "Tsukasa, did you hear that? We're going to be a part of the Elite 10."

"You're right." Eishi sighs, "We can finally fulfill our promise."

Tsukasa Eishi is now sitting in his room with Kobayashi Rindo by his side, Rindo asks, "Tsukasa, are you thinking about Yukihira again?"

"It was thanks to Yukihira and Takoro-senpai that we manage to get into the Elite 10, but now we are enemies because we become members of the Central..." Eishi frowns a little.

"I know what you mean, every one of us has a deep relationship with the Phantom himself, but because of headmaster Azami, we are forced to become enemies with them."

"By the way, Rindo, I want to know, the fact that you let Takumi Aldini and Tadokoro Megumi pass the third exam, I never get to know why you do it." Eishi says.

"I somehow have a feeling that Yukihira is capable of defeating Central, but it will be tough for him to continuously beat all of us at the same time. So I just think that I'll be helping them out by passing those two."

"I see." Eishi sighs. "If it was me, I would try to let Tadokoro Megumi pass as well. After all, she is Yu's sister and Yukihira won't want anything to happen to her."

"Though I am curious about how they will training during the upcoming Regimental Shokugeki..." Rindo says, "I hope they were having fun."

And back at Soma's train, the others are hearing Soma's story, and Yu says, "It really brings back old memories. I mean, it was also actually the first time I tried deep-fried lizard."

"But to think you're capable of defeating Tsukasa-senpai and Rindo-senpai at the same time..." Megumi gasps.

"Yeah, somehow I have a feeling that I'll be facing them again in this Regimental de Cuisine." Soma says. "But then again, at that time, they weren't members of the Elite 10, and I know for sure that both of them right now are different from themselves in the past."

Erina says, "I agree. Being a part of the Elite 10 means that they get to have access to means to perfect themselves, and they must have heeded your advice so that they have become who they are right now."

Kuga says, "But to think that Yukihira-chin manages to beat Tsukasa! I can't believe it..."

"I think I know what you mean, senpai." Takumi adds.

Soma says, "And during the year when Tsukasa senpai and Rindo senpai were just Grade 2 students, we have been competing with each other. He never won against me when I was in the Phantom personality, and sometimes I have asked for some of his ingredients for my victory."

"So that's what you've been doing, but does that mean you managed to get a lot of rare ingredients from Rindo-senpai as well?" Megumi asks.

"You bet." Soma sighs, "I like to learn a lot of things through cooking, there are some things I wouldn't be able to learn from most of the chefs here and senpais. Such as the way to use those rare ingredients to make the best dishes."

Senzaemon sighs, "He really is your kid, Joichiro."

"I know, but even though I got those ingredients, sometimes I made some disgusting meals."

"Don't remind us about that...only Tamako would have that iron stomach to taste those." Fujiwara sighs.

And here is the first chapter of the flashbacks with the Elite 10 members, I want to write the past of how Soma manages to meet every one of the Elite 10 members, both new and old. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be Megishima, Akanegakubo, and Saito with both perspectives. As for the Shokugeki I wrote in the story, as I said, I am not a chef, so there are a lot of things I don't know how to explain it. I hope you all bear with it.
