"I'm going now, love you mom!"

   The two-tailed fox said goodbye to his mother, Rosemary, closed the front door, and left the house. His best friend Sonic had already waited for him outside. Tails smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

   "Hey Sonic!"

   "Hi Tails! How are you doing?" – The hedgehog grinned, he rushed to Tails and pulled him into a warm hug.

   "Good as always! And you don't have to wait for me every time, you know. We can meet each other at school."

   "I just wanna spend more time with my buddy is all, can't I do that?" – Sonic pretended to wipe his tears, although there weren't any.

   Tails laughed at his actions. They began walking to school. The weather in the morning was a little bit chilly, and the air was fresh. It made Tails feel comfortable. He took a deep breath and looked at his surroundings.

   The breeze rippled through Tails' fur, tickling him. Silence filled the air. Only a few people were out at this hour.

   Sonic and Tails looked at the trees with a sense of wonder. They have walked on this road many times before, but this time it was... different. The trees... they looked so mysterious when they were covered in the fog.

   "Beautiful, isn't it?" – Tails whispered, his tails began to wag and his eyes sparkled. Sonic just nodded. He was hypnotized by the scenery and the person in front of him. The scenery was already beautiful, but Tails was even more beautiful...

   They just stared at the trees, until Sonic began looking at his watch and started to panic.

   "Oh shoot! Tails, it's quarter past seven already! We should get hurry!"

   Tails raised his eyebrows.

   "Sonic, you can just use your speed to carry me there, you know."

   "Oops! Sorry, guess I forgot I can run fast. Hehe..." – Sonic slowly rubbed his back. A thought popped into his head.
