•Kaila's POV•

It's been such a long time, since the last time I had something exciting happen. But my life had definitely changed in two years.

Kallen and Ellen had been married for a year and is already pregnant with their first child. Kaleb's widow, Margret and son, Jeremiah moved to Florida. Kambel got engaged, my nephew was turning two soon, and Kamden was eight. Hunter and I had been dating for two years, as had Alex and Amber.

Oh, and my third year at Fusion Bible Camp was just a week away!

It was the Wednesday night before camp, and everyone was at church.

I stepped into the youth room, I was practically glowing! I saw Amber in the corner talking with Asia and Amyra, the newbies. I walked over to them.

"Hey guys! You ready for camp?" I asked, excitedly.

"Um, totally!" Amber said, smiling.

"Yeah, but, I've never been before." Asia shrugged.

"Oh trust me. You're going to love it." Amber reassured.

I then felt hands on my shoulders and slowly moved, so a pair of arms were around my neck. I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, really? You could do better." I complained.

I heard a scoff, followed by a familiar voice. "Oh come on, you know you love it."

I rolled my eyes again and turned around. "I do? I hadn't really noticed." I turned around for a hug.

In the past couple years, Hunter had grown. Instead of being 5'9" he was now 6'3". The height the doctors said he would be.

I heard "aww's" behind me. I let go and turned to face the girls. They were all staring at us. I let go to look at the girls.

"You two are so cute!" Asia gushed. Amyra nodded agreeing.

"Oh, stop. One day you'll find yourself a nice boyfriend. Maybe not as bad as him." I smirked nudging him in the rib.

"Alright alright, that's enough of the sarcasm." Hunter replied.

"Who said it was sarcasm?" He laughed, and began playing with my hair. "Hunter, please stop playing with my hair. You know how much I don't like it." My hair has grown to be in the middle of my back. But the weird thing was, it grew back straight as a board, but still incredibly soft.

"Come on, your hair is a gift, a remembrance. That's why you don't want to cut it."

"Who said that? What if I want to cut it up to my shoulders." I replied, making a slashing motion with my hand by my shoulders.

Amber and Hunter gasped, leaving Asia and Amyra to wonder in curiosity.

"You wouldn't!" Amber said, clutching her chest.

I laughed. "You guys are too gullible."

"Alright guys. Time to get started." Pastor Jane said, shushing the youth group. I took a seat in between Hunter and Amber, like usual. "I know everyone is excited for camp coming next week. . ." Everyone cheered. Jane waited until we quieted down. "But for now, it's time to get ready for camp, and thank him for everyday we have. Alright let's pray."

After prayer, Pastor Jane continued. "So, tonight we are having Kaila talk. We are going to have her share her camp testimony." She smiled, that being the cue for me to go up.

I got up and stood in front of my youth group. "As most of you know, I'm almost eighteen years old and this will be my third year at camp. But today I will be sharing my first year at camp testimony." I smiled at Hunter who was grinning from ear to ear. "Before I went to camp, I struggled with forgiveness. My oldest sister abused Kallen and I when we were younger. She scarred me, I thought I'd never love her again." I took a deep breath and continued. "Along with that situation, during camp I met Hunter,"

"And me!" Amber interrupted. The room filled with laughter.

I laughed a bit. "And Amber. Hunter. . . and Amber, helped me so much with finding Christ, finding that I could forgive my sister. And I did. During that summer after camp I found out I had Leukemia. My sister came and visited me multiple times with my niece. I've forgiven her, and now, because of Jesus, we are now better friends, and sister then I'd ever imagined."

Everyone clapped.

"My life has definitely changed for the better. Jesus taught me many things that summer. I was healed during Fusion Fire, February of 2016, and I visited heaven three times, I think." I laughed to myself. "I have now been cancer free for over a year. Sixteen months to be exact. And my life couldn't be any better."

Everyone clapped as I sat down. "Alright. Is there anyone else that would be willing to share their testimony?"

Hunter shyly raised his hand. "I'll go."

"Wonderful! Go ahead Hunter."

He stood, and walked to the front of the room. "I don't know if a lot of you know this, but I had eight other siblings. All of us were driving somewhere, I forget where, but we then collided with four cars. One in the front, both sides, and the back. Not one of them survived, but I did. After that happened I was in major depression. I tried to kill myself about 17 times, but each time I was stopped. The most recent attempt was that summer Kaila had cancer. It was the second time she died that I lost control and overdosed. And something people don't know is that I went to heaven too.

"I saw all my siblings. They all greeted me, and I was so extremely happy to be with them again. I wanted to stay, but when I saw Jesus, he reminded me that my journey on earth wasn't over. And that I left Kaila, my parents and friends here." I smiled as he looked my way. "So, after I was returned home, I felt like a different person. God changed me. And I couldn't ask for anything more."

He smiled widely and sat back down next to me and I hugged him from the side.

After church, Hunter, Amber and I decided it would be fun to do something.

"Hey, can we go out to ice cream?" Amber asked. "Alex says he wants to see us before camp."

"That's cool with me. If someone can give me a ride, I'll just have to tell my mom." I replied.

"I'll give you a ride, as always." Hunter said putting an arm around me and kissing my head.

I then felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Asia.

"Hey Asia, what's up?"

"Oh, I just wanted to say that your testimony was really touching." She fiddled with a bracelet she was wearing.

I smiled. "Thank you. That means a lot to me."

"I, was also wondering if you could pray for Amyra? She's going through some things, and she really need some prayer."

"Yeah! Absolutely! Anything specifically?"

She shook her head. "No. Just, her." I noticed she looked like she was gonna cry. I opened up my arm and she fell into them, crying.

"Hey, do you think we could pray for Amyra now?"

She nodded, continuing to cry. Amber and Hunter put their hands on Asia and we prayed.

After we were done, Asia let go of me. "Thank you guys, for everything."

"It's no problem. See you Sunday?"

"Oh, no, i'm gonna be at my grandparents this weekend."

"Okay, we'll see you Tuesday then."

"Tuesday, okay." She smiled and walked away. "Thank you, again. So much."

I smiled. "Take care, Asia."

The thing about Asia and Amyra was that they were adopted into the same house hold. Both of them had rough pasts with different foster care parents, until they found the Reyles'. They were then reconnected with their biological grandparents and visited them very frequently.

They started coming here a couple months ago. I couldn't wait for them to go to camp this year, God was totally gonna rock their world.

~~
During our ice cream with Alex, Asia's prayer request was the only thing on my mind.

Sure, I had a great time with Alex, but I couldn't stop thinking about how upset she was.

When Hunter was driving me home, we stayed silent through the most of the ride home.

"What's up?" He asked.

"What do you mean?" I replied.

"You're so quiet, what's up?"

"Oh, I just keep thinking about Asia."

"What about Asia?"

"Her prayer request. Why would she be so worried about Amyra? Amyra seems to act fine." I sighed.

"I know you're worried, sweet, but don't let this run in your mind too much. If it's a God thing, it'll show itself again. Just pray and leave it be."

I sighed again, and took his words in. Maybe I should let it go, for now. He grabbed my hand and rubbed the back of it.

I looked out the window into the neighborhood with only the moon and a few streetlights.

Once Hunter reached my house he parked the car and turned to me. "I'm
serious about Amyra, Kaila. It'll become a bug in your brain if you don't let it go soon."

"Okay, I trust you."

He leaned in, giving me a kiss. He pulled away, grabbed my face, and looked directly into my eyes. "Goodnight, my sweet."

"Goodnight." I smiled, and stepped out of his car. I waved at him as he backed out of my driveway, and I walked inside. I smiled upon seeing my whole family. Kallen and Ellen, Kambel, Kamden, Kasey, and of course, Mom.

"Hello my lovely family." I said, smiling.

"Kaila!" Kamden screamed, rushing over to me and sticking to my legs.

I giggled. "Hi Kammy." I picked her up and put her on my hip. I walked over to where they were sitting and sat on the floor. I grabbed Kasey who was playing with a toy block on the carpet. I placed him in my lap.

"Okay Kaila, since Hunter's birthday is the day you come home, we're thinking about throwing him a little surprise party. How's that sound?" Mom suggested.

"That sounds amazing! Will a week give you enough time to plan something?"

"Oh definitely. We're going to be doing it at the church, so all you have to do is drag him into the church. We'll have everything set it and it will just be wonderful!" I had never seen mom so eager to do something for him.

"Thank you Mom!" I smiled widely. I yawned. "Well, I've had a pretty late night the last few nights, so I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight fam!"

"Goodnight Kaila!" They all said simultaneously.

I smiled and walked up the stairs to my room. I flopped on the bed and just thought about Amyra. I prayed as I got ready for bed.

I then laid down and before I knew it, I was asleep.
