¡Hola mis amigos! It's important to learn the days of the week and the months of the year in Spanish. Below are the months of the year-

January-
enero

February-
febrero

March-
marzo

April-
abril

May-
mayo

June-
junio

July-
julio

August-
agosto

September-
septiembre

October-
octubre

November-
noviembre

December-
deciembre

Now, below are the days of the week:

Monday-
lunes

Tuesday-
martes

Wednesday-
miércoles

Thursday-
jueves

Friday-
viernes

Saturday-
sábado

Sunday-
domingo

One way to remember the days of the week is by putting it with this song called 'Are You Sleeping?' (It might look familiar):

🎶"Are you sleeping, are you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong." 🎶

Or the French version:
🎶"Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?
Sonnez les matines, sonnez les matines
Ding ding dong, ding ding dong." 🎶

You can keep the rhythm of this song, and put it to the words:

🎶"Lunes martes, lunes martes,
Miércoles, miércoles,
Jueves viernes sábado, jueves viernes sábado,
domingo, domingo." 🎶

I hope that it helps!

*In Spanish, the letter 'j' is pronounced like the letter 'h'. Also, double l's (ll) like in llama, are pronounced like 'y'. (English examples- yellow, Montgomery, lynx.)

*The days of the week start with Monday on Spanish calenders, not Sunday.

*To ask for the date, one would say:
"¿Qué fecha(date) es hoy?"
What is the date?

To ask for the day you would say, "Qué día es hoy?" What day is today? And in response you would start off with the word Hoy(today). (Example- Hoy es jueves.)

To say what the date is, if it were Monday, the fourth of May, you would say, "Hoy es lunes, el cuatro de mayo." And if it was Friday, the tenth of june, one would say, "Hoy es viernes, el diez de junio." This pattern stays the same in every circumstance exept one: if it were the first of a month.

For example, let's say that it's Wednesday, the first of January. You would say, "Hoy es miércoles, el primero de enero."

Finally, the days of the week and the months of the year are not capitalized in Spanish, unless at the beginning of a sentence.
