A few minutes later, Jungkook walks out of the bathroom.

He has nothing but a towel tied around his waist– feet still slippery with water so he's trying his best not to slip on the wood floor– as he waddles his way to his room to get dressed.

With every step he silently curses himself for not realizing until after he'd stepped out of the shower that he'd forgotten to take a change of clothes into the restroom with him.

As soon as he gets to his partly open door, he pushes it open to see Yoongi standing in the center of the room with his back to him.

"Hyung?" Jungkook calls quietly as to not startle him in case he didn't hear Jungkook walk in.

When Yoongi turns around the first thing Jungkook sees is the white envelope in his hands.

The envelope that was meant to be given to Yoongi tomorrow...

"Shit," Jungkook curses, moving his eyes up to Yoongi's.

He's about to ask what he was doing in his room, feign to be more upset than he is that Yoongi ruined the surprise, but his words get caught in his throat as he sees the look of hurt in Yoongi's dark, turbulent eyes.

They stand staring at each other silently for what feels like an eternity.

Yoongi doesn't take his eyes away from Jungkook, so the younger sees quite clearly when he tears up at the same time his lip starts to wobble.

"Hyung," Jungkook begins nervously. He hates seeing Yoongi cry. "Just... Let me get dressed first, then we can-"

"You're moving out?" Yoongi finally voices, his words coming out barely loud enough for Jungkook to make out.

Yoongi's mind is spiraling. Had been for the last couple minutes.

He'd come to Jungkook's room to search through the shelves in his closet for the deck of Uno cards he was sure he'd last seen there.

During his search he'd knocked the envelope onto the floor. Recognizing the property management office's logo for an apartment complex Jungkook had mentioned vacancies being available at on the envelope, he let his curiosity get the best of him and he opened it.

Now, he wishes so badly that he hadn't. Wishes that he was still blissfully unaware of what Jungkook has been up to. What he's been working up to doing.

Yoongi was so stupid to miss the implications Jungkook had made.

The younger must have been hinting to Yoongi he was thinking about moving. Testing the waters to gauge Yoongi's reaction.

Stupid him for not realizing he may have been selling Jungkook on the idea of moving.

Yoongi had pointed out to his friend that the address was within walking distance of the rec center Jungkook likes to swim at, the one by Yoongi's work.

How it was quite a bit more spacious than their current apartment while not costing much more per month to rent.

That it would be much more convenient because it was closer to shops and downtown.

That it would be a few minutes closer to their University as well so a long bus ride wouldn't have to be accounted for as taking up so much time in the mornings when one could be getting more sleep instead.

He'd gushed about all of the pros of moving to the place, and now Jungkook was doing it.

Jungkook quickly denies with dismissive shakes of his head. "No! I'm not- That's not-"

"It's okay, Kookie," Yoongi says in the same deflated voice. "If you want to go-" he gulps, trying to steady his tone. "If that's what you want then I'm happy for you."

Jungkook blinks in surprise. Yoongi would so easily let him go? Just like that?

"Do... do you want me to move out?" Jungkook stammers quietly.

Yoongi's lip begins to trample even more, his frown deepening. "I don't want to stop you if you want to leave. I know you probably feel obligated to take care of me," Yoongi wraps his arms around himself before walking over to Jungkook's bed to take a seat. "I know I can be high maintenance. A burden sometimes."

Yoongi wipes his falling tears. "I don't want to be a burden to you, Kookie. I don't want you to feel like I'm holding you back. Keeping you from having time to make other friends... You're not the same freshman I met those years ago. You're handsome and funny and people love you. I don't want to hold you back in any possible way and if you feel like I am... If you feel like you need to move in order to progress, than I support you."

"Hyung," Jungkook sighs quietly, walking to his bed to sit next to Yoongi.

Yoongi slowly raises his head from where it had been hung as he stared at the ground between his feet.

Jungkook looks at him with complete fondness in his eyes, reaching for Yoongi's hands to hold them in his. "You have never and will never be a burden to me. You, Min Yoongi, are the most important person in my life."

Yoongi takes one of his hands out of Jungkook's, quickly wiping his tears. "But- Then why-"

Jungkook smiles, moving to sit next to Yoongi. "I do want to move, but it's not what you think. I- fuck, this was supposed to be for your birthday! I had it all planned out," he exhales, words sounding almost like a whine.

Yoongi's heart drops to his toes. "You were going to tell me you were moving out... on my birthday?"

"No! Absolutely not. No. I was going to tell you that I found us a new place, hyung. I want to move out and I want you to come with me. I want you to move there with me." He points to the envelope still in Yoongi's hands.

"You want to keep being roommates?" Yoongi's expression brightens a little as he turns more towards Jungkook.

Jungkook nods, bringing his hands up to cup both of Yoongi's cheeks. "Of course I do, hyung!"

Yoongi leans forward suddenly, throwing his arms around Jungkook's neck, pressing his nose against the side of his neck.

"That would make me so happy! I can't imagine not being with you anymore," he sniffles. "Thank you for wanting me to come with you. And I'm sorry for ruining my present."

"Baby, you don't have to apologize." Jungkook chuckles as he brings his hands around the older.

Yoongi blushes at the nickname so casually said again, and then even more when he realizes the skin under his hands is bare... because Jungkook is naked.

"I-I better go shower." He stammers, feeling flustered. "Before the pizza comes."

"Yes. And I better get dressed before the pizza comes." Jungkook grins, wrinkling his nose in amusement as he watches Yoongi noticeably avoiding looking at him as he shuffles out of his room.

When Jungkook hears the bathroom door shut he stands up from his bed, goes to his dresser to throw on some underwear, a pair joggers and a t-shirt before moving to pick up the papers and brochures to tuck them neatly away again.

He's going to make sure to bring it up again tomorrow in case Yoongi forgets because he forgets things quite easily when he's drunk enough, which Jungkook senses he is already or close to the memory loss stage.

Just as he gets the papers tucked away and the envelope closed he sets it on his desk– there's no sense in hiding it now– he hears knocking at their door.

He turns on his heal, padding quickly through the apartment to get to the door, expecting it's their food being delivered.

Once it's open, he freezes, brows crashing together in confusion as he looks between the two people standing in his doorway.

"Why- what are you doing here?!"
