Here's the next chapter! Do NOT write in two devices (I had to rewrite this again!)

John's POV

John was out on the deck with Rusty, his Spirit Animal. They watched as the sun set on the horizon. John's thoughts were still back on the battle. He felt angry at Eilene.

I can't believe her, he thought, running towards a ferocious, mad lion and jumping off waterfalls! What was she thinking?

He didn't know why but a part of him felt worried about her. He shrugged the thought away and tried to think of something else but his mind always drifted back to the battle. He heard fast footsteps approaching and he turned around to see George.

"Eilene's awake," George told her.

John felt as if a ton of bricks left him. He followed George down the cabin, passing Zoron on the way. As he entered the room, Irene, Hope, and Zoey were there.

"I'm fine, really," Eilene was saying as he entered.

"You're fine?" John said, furiously, "You're fine when a mountain lion could've mauled you to death or you could've been killed by the Conquerors or by jumping off the waterfall? Look at you, you're injured and weak!"

"But I survived didn't I?" Eilene asked, "We got the Marble Swan, right?"

John didn't say anything.

"You can't change the past," she went on, "You can only improve it."

"Well, why don't you think first before you do?" John fired.

"I do think first before I do," Eilene muttered.

"Wow," George cut in, "I never thought that you would care, John."

"What?" John exclaimed.

"It's obvious you were worried about her," Zoey added.

"I wasn't worried," John insisted and before he could think, the words were pouring out of his mouth, "I don't even care about what happens to her. She could've lost the Marble Swan!"

As soon as he said that, he regretted it. He thought he saw hurt filled Eilene's eyes but it was gone almost too quickly.

"Excuse me," Eilene told them, "I need to find Ella."

"But you just woke up," Irene protested.

"Like I said, i'm fine," she insisted.

She got up and stood shakily for a second then walked out the room, not glancing at John. Zoey glared at John as she followed Eilene.

Hope shook her head, "I can't believe you just said that!"

George glared at him, "Can't you be nice for once?"

They walked out the room leaving John. John sighed feeling very guilty.

I'm so stupid, he thought.

Zoron's POV

Zoron was leaning on the railings of Tellun's Pride, the moon floating high in the night sky. He fed Lazu some bread. He heard fast footsteps and he turned around to see Hope walking towards him looking furious. Her Spirit Animal, Faith, walked behind her.

"I can't believe he said that," she exclaimed.

"Who?" Zoron asked.

"John," Hope answered, "Do you know what he told Eilene?"

Zoron and Lazu exchanged a glance, "What?"

"I'm not worried," she replied, trying to imitate John's voice, "I don't even care about her. I only care about myself!"

Faith snorted.

"Okay, maybe he didn't say that he cared about himself," Hope admitted, "but it sure looked like it!"

"I don't think he meant it," John told her.

"Oh really? Try saying that to Eilene," Hope exclaimed, "She almost cried!"

"I don't think she cried," John replied, "and I'm not sure if they even care about each other."

"Oh really?" Hope asked, "Haven't you seen John defend Eilene from a Conqueror? You should've been in the room. He was furious when she ran towards a mountain lion and jumped off the waterfall!"

"So you're saying that they like each other," he said.

"I don't even know," Hope sighed, "I don't understand how not all boys are the same. I mean you're much nicer than John."

"You think i'm...nicer?" Zoron asked.

Hope's eyes widened as if she just realized and blushed, "Um...well.."

"No it's okay," Zoron smiled, "I'm actually glad you...think that."

Hope gave him a shy smile and it was quiet. They stared at the horizon, the moon floating high above them. Zoron glanced at Hope and his heart skipped a beat. A gentle breeze slowly blew her hair, her eyes sparkling from the moonlight. Hope looked at him and raised her eyebrows.

"Sorry, it's just," Zoron hesitated, "You look..."

"Dusty and worn out?" Hope cut in, "Yeah, I know."

"I meant to say is," Zoron told her, "You look...beautiful."

Hope's eyes widened and she blushed, "R-really? Do you...do you mean it?"

"Yes, I do," Zoron smiled, "and I'm glad that I met you."

Ah, the sweetness! Thank you for reading and please vote and leave a comment of what you think. Stay tuned for the next chapters!
