Finally, the day has come for this contest to make it's announcement! Before I get to the really meaty content of this chapter, let me explain what this challenge is about! Basically, I have designed 6 terrible ocs that you guys get to fix in your own unique ways! These designs are either too bright, too simple, or too cliqued. Or even all three! The 6 people who choose to do this can drop out at any point, but that also means the design you picked will either be given to someone else or just be thrown into the inferno that is hell.

Anyways-

Here are the rules!

1: Bases are allowed, but you must credit the original base maker. If me or my co-judge suspect you of using a base without crediting, we will only ask you one time to credit a base. Well, I will- Also! This does not mean tracing images is allowed. The only image I would expect you to trace is the original design's drawing (but I drew them rather horrendously so I would suggest drawing on your own or with a base.)

2: Please do not purposely go to someone's redesign and shit on what they did. That is a terrible thing. If you suspect someone of stealing a design or tracing, come to me and I will look into it with my co-judge.

3: For anyone that happens to realize they don't like the original design (or find it hard to redesign it) may ask to trade their design with someone else. However, if there is no one willing to trade, then you might get stuck with it (or I'll design a new one. I would rather not do that though).

4: For anyone that is curious, yes, you are allowed to change any and all things of the original design. You can change the species, add things, remove things, change the colors, ect. All I ask is you keep the original feeling of the oc!

5: There is no technical due date, as I want everyone to work at their own pace to create something that they're really proud of, however... I am a wee bit of an impatient bean sometimes, so I will place a date that I would like for everyone to be done. It is not the due date though, but it is the day where I'll be asking everyone how much longer they will be. Every week I already plan to ask how progress is coming along! (June 10th is the "due date")

6: There are 3 human based characters and 3 animal based characters. I figured this would be easiest for those who have different things the are good at. Again, look at rule 4!!

7: Just remember to be positive and have fun! I do not want someone to put oh, I'm so gonna loose. I do not like that attitude at all, and not to mention my co-judge might decide to be in a trolling mood and lower your score for that attitude.

What will I be judging for?

I will be judging for how creatively you redesigned the character. Basically, the questions I will be asking are:

"Does this looks aesthetically pleasing?"
"Does the character make any sense?"
"Is the pallet nice?"

I will also be on the look out for bio information about the oc! I don't want just the artists to have the best chance at winning! I want the writers to have a good shot as well. Basically, you can win on just having a good bio on an oc alone! This doesn't mean you can skip out on redesigning the oc though. You still have to do that.

What my co-judge will be judging for?

They will be judging for quality. Now, they do understand that not everyone draws, and heck, they don't draw themselves, so they do have a respect for people that do draw. However, they're going to be the more critical judge during this contest.

Just like me, they will also be looking at the bio. Since they specialize quite heavily with writing, they'll also be pretty critical of that.

For anyone who is nervous about having a more critical person judge their art, don't worry! By the end of the judging, we will come to a compromise on what places the winners will get. Their word alone will not determine the winner. It'll be the both of us!

And finally, the prizes! Every single time I do a contest I tend to give myself a bit too much to do, thus I start getting impatient with my art or I face art block and I just give my winners something that could've been better. For this time around, the prize will actually be something a bit easier on me to do!

Everyone will be allowed to decide whether to keep their redesigns as an oc or they can give it up for Eva's Adoption Cafe! If they choose the second option, they are allowed to talk to me about the pricing they want for their design. If someone wants to adopt their oc, I will of course come to the person who created the design and talk to them about what the buyer can draw for them (I will explain further for the winners-)

1st place: 1 full body, 2 busts.
2nd place: 1 full body, 2 busts.
3rd place: 1 bust, 2 headshot.
4th, 5th and 6th place: 1 headshot.
