  Shooting. Things exploding. Ezra dead.

Kallus shot up from his bed gasping. He gripped his sheet and slowly breathed to calm down.

Kallus groaned and fell back on his pillows. He heard knocking at his door and raised an eyebrow.

He slipped his hand into a drawer under his bed and held the blaster hidden there.

"Come in." Kallus said and quickly readied himself. The door opened and revealed a shaky Ezra.

Kallus sighed and closed the drawer. "Ezra, what are you doing up so late?" Kallus asked concerned.

Ezra seemed hesitant. "I. . . Had a nightmare, and I was wondering if I could stay with you?" He asked, shyly.

Kallus blinked, confused. "Why me? I thought Kanan was your father and you'd go to him." Kallus asked.

Ezra had his mask off so his eyes were staring at the wall near Kallus's head.

"Yeah but he's busy. Trying to find your father and other things. Too busy for me, I guess." He muttered sadly at the end. But Kallus heard.

"If you hog the blankets I will shove you on the ground." Kallus scooted over and lifted his blanket up.

Ezra brightened up and curled up next to him.

Kallus may be his uncle, but he also was kinda of a dad.

"Good job! Zeb, you alright?" Kallus asked.

Zeb looked like he was going to puke. "M' fine. Just gonna sit down. Uggh!" Zeb flopped down on the sparring mat.

Ezra winced and sheepishly rubbed his neck. Ezra sparred against Zeb and in seven minuets he had him feeling like he was going to puke and won.

Ezra just reached his hand out at Zeb's head and did something where Zeb felt sick.

"Uh Zeb, you good or should we get you to the medic?" Ezra asked, feeling guilty.

Zeb could tell and slowly sat up. "Nah kid, I'm fine. You just got stronger that's all and I'm proud." Zeb ruffled his hair.

Ezra chuckled and Kallus grinned. This is what a family felt like.

Hera walked in and frowned. "Uh Zeb? You alright?" She asked, concerned.

"Peachy." Zeb groaned and flopped back down. Hera frowned and looked at Kallus.

"I've been looking for you. Kanan wants to talk." Hera said and Kallus nodded.

"See ya Ezra." Kallus ruffled his hair and Ezra chuckled and helped Zeb.

Hera said nothing as she left after telling Kallus where Kanan was.

Kallus walked to the lonely hills as the sun set.

Kanan had his arms crossed behind his back and slowly turned when he sensed Kallus.

"What do you want?" Kallus snarled. Kanan widened his eyes at the anger.

"I was just going to ask some questions about your father but what's wrong with you?" Kanan asked.

Kallus glared at him. "Is it sad that I know more about your 'son' than you?" He growled, challenging him.

Kanan glared at him. Kallus wanted to run at that glare but he didn't.

"What do you mean my 'son'? Ezra is my kid–!"

Kanan was met with a punch by Kallus who was fuming.

"Then prove it! I've been taking care of him! He's angry at himself because he feels like he disappoints you!" Kallus yelled. He didn't know why he decided to get angry but then he remembered Ezra.

His face sadness. Filled with pain amd guilt for something that he never did. Confusion on why Kanan couldn't just be there even if for a moment.

Kanan frowned. "He doesn't. I'm proud of him. What do you mean you've been taking of him?" Kanan asked.

Kallus bitterly laughed. Kanan, was an idiot.

"I get you want to find my father and protect everyone but Ezra needs you. He's been going to me when he has nightmares, he talks to me, and he wants me to train him and actually, I think I've been doing better than you! He's my nephew but sometimes he's my son!" Kallus yelled.

Kanan instantly got angry. He glared at Kallus and Kallus was sure if looks could kill, he would be dead.

"Your son?! I'm the one who opened up to him and I was the first he opened up to! He called me father! How dare you say he's your son! He's mine! I'm his father!" Kanan yelled.

"Then act like it! I've been training him and he took Zeb down in seven minuets! I've been taking care of him! I have the right to say he's kinda like my son!" Kallus was a second away from punching Kanan again.

"Really?! I'm trying to protect everyone! I want to be there for Ezra but how can when I have to find your father because you can't even talk about it! Are you scared of something for once?!"

  Kallus lunged at Kanan.

He punched him twice before Kanan grabbed his fist and twisted his arm backwards.

Kanan then got flipped on his back. Kallus pressed his knee into Kanan's stomach and raised a fist but Kanan blocked the punch.

Kanan kneed Kallus in the stomach and pushed him away.

"Hey! Knock it off!" Zeb yelled.

He quickly kicked both of them away from each other and stood between them as they stood up.

"Either talk it out or walk away!" Zeb ordered. Kallus held his bloody nose and sighed.

Kanan felt guilty. "Kallus, I'm sorry." He apologized.

"I'm sorry and apology accepted. But you should be apologizing to Ezra. After all, you are his father." Kallus mocked him and then walked away.

Kanan looked down. Zeb looked to the sky.
