This takes place in season 1 episode "gathering forces" after Ezra uses the darkside.

Ezra's pov

I couldn't believe it, I had just used the darkside..... Kanan must be so disappointed in me, he probably hates me...... The funny thing is.... I don't blame him. We were currently heading home. Soon this will be over, soon I won't hurt anyone anymore. Soon...

4 hours later

The moment we landed on lothal I ran off instead of heading towards the ghost. All I heard was Kanan calling my name. Don't worry master, I'll fix this.......
I'll fix everything......
When I came to halt in the grassy fields of my home planet I pulled out a blaster I had on me and set it to kill mode. Ironic how my life started and is going to end here. I pointed it at my head as tears slid down my face, some landing on the ground. They hate me, they never loved me, I never deserved their affection in the first place. I prepared to pull the trigger and then everything went black.

Kanan's pov

I saw Ezra run off and called his name. I know he's upset but what is going through that brain of his. I ran after him, sometimes stopping a moment to catch my breath. I then tapped into our bond, hopefully I'll get some answers. That's when I heard it. "They hate me, they never loved me, I never deserved their affection in the first place." I started to cry. O Ezra how could you think that? I suddenly felt fear come from the bond and.... Saddness? Nonono don't do it! I ran in a panic searching for him and saw him standing at a far distance, blaster aimed at his head, and shaking. "Noooo!" I screamed. He prepared to fire and I did the only thing I could think of at the moment. I  with the force, reached out my hand and forced him unconscious. He fell to the ground with a thud as I ran to his side. I cradled him into my arms, ripped the blaster out of his hand, and held him close to my chest. I almost lost him... To himself. What kind of master am I? What kind of father am I. He started to stir and opened his electric blue eyes. The moment he did so he wept. I brought him into my chest once more "Shhh it's okay baby boy I'm here." The next thing I knew I was singing to the shaken child to calm him down.

Ezra's pov

I suddenly heard Kanan singing to me, it was beautiful and soothing. I felt him gently rub my back as he sang and I relaxed into the feel of the moment. Sleep then took over.

Kanan's pov

When I finished the song I heard soft snoring and looked down to find Ezra fast asleep in my arms with a faint smile on his face. I smiled too and wished this could last forever. I picked up Ezra gently and headed back to the ghost.
