So basically what happened on the way back from Malacore

They had escaped. Kanan, Ezra and chopper had escaped Malacore, but at a price. Kanan was blind, Ahsoka was killed and Ezra nearly lost his own life when Vader tried to kill him.

Ezra cried his heart out all the way back to the base. He can't comprehend what had just happened. He trusted Maul, the man who now has blinded his master. But yet it was all Ezra's fault.

If Ezra didn't trust Maul, Kanan wouldn't been blinded.
If Ezra didn't trust Maul, Ahsoka may still be alive.

But no.

Ezra trusted Maul.
Ezra trusted Maul and now look what happened.

Kanan was blind because Ezra trusted Maul
Ahsoka fought Vader and is now dead because Ezra trusted Maul.

The thought of Kanan now hating him made Ezra cry even more. Kanan must hate him now. Kanan must hate him for trusting Maul. Ezra then remembered how he said that Kanan needed to trust him. And when Kanan did, he got blinded.

Ezra cried even more. He then felt arm's wrap around him. "It's over" said his now blind master. Ezra was silent, tears still running down his face. How could his master forgive him for what he did. How can he forgive him for trusting Maul.

"It's over Ezra" Kanan reassures him. With that, Ezra started started crying his heart out once more, hugging Kanan, like if he let go of him, he would disappear. Kanan hugged Ezra tighter.

Kanan was silent for a few moments before speaking. "There's nothing we can do about it now" he told his padawan, also feeling like crying but did not. He had to stay strong, but that was hard at this moment.

For the rest of the way back to the base, Ezra cried, while Kanan hugged him and reassuring his apprentice and saying things like "it's okay" or "it wasn't your fault. Non of it was".
