-Here's another old one haha. Hope you guys enjoy it! Also, I don't know who requested this anymore. :(-

So, (?) gave me a bunch of ideas and one of them was something along the lines of Hera puts Kanan's hair back into a ponytail. Like always, I put my own twist on it haha. Wrote this pretty quick so it's not perfect, but I think it turned out decent enough. Anyways, enjoy! :)

"The good news is, it will heal. Take care of yourself and you'll be back to normal in no time," the medic said to Kanan Jarrus.

Kanan did not acknowledge the medic in any way. All he did was stare in the general direction of the man who was speaking to him.

"Some bacta-gel might help speed the healing process, but that's the most we can do. Like I said earlier, take care of yourself and be patient with yourself. It will take time to adjust to your new life," the medic said kindly. He turned to face the rest of the Ghost crew. "He's going to need a lot of support and guidance."

"We understand," Hera replied. She looked at Kanan who seemed to be in another world. He said nothing at all and barely moved. "But he will be okay?"

The medic nodded. "Yes, he will be okay."

-

But he was far from okay. Hera hadn't seen Kanan like this in all the time that she had known him. He was more distant than ever and barely came out of his room. And it had only been three days since the event. How distant would he become weeks from now?

Hera sighed and put her datapad down. Every time she had tried to help him he pushed her away and insisted he was fine, but he wasn't.

And then there was Ezra. The poor boy constantly blamed himself for what happened to Kanan. Multiple times Hera tried to tell him that he wasn't the reason Kanan was blind, but he too pushed her away and left.

Nothing was okay.

Hera stood up from the cockpit and went to check up on Sabine. She seemed fine on the outside, but she could tell the girl was suffering in her own ways from the overwhelming changes in their lives. Lately she had been doing an excess amount of sketching and painting.

"Hi Sabine," Hera said quietly standing in the door frame."How are you?"

Sabine shrugged and looked up from her sketchbook. "It's not so much me, but I'm worried about Kanan and Ezra."

Hera looked down and sighed. "Me too."

"I just hope they'll be okay," Sabine said woefully. She looked back to her book and started sketching again.

Hera nodded and sighed. "Let me know if you need anything."

Hera turned and started to walk but stopped in front of Kanan's door. She took a deep breath and walked in. Kanan was sitting on his bed lost in thought. He moved his head in the direction of the door and waited for a response from whoever came in.

"Kanan," Hera said softly. She watched Kanan's facial expression for any sign of anger indicating he didn't want her there. There wasn't any. "How are you doing?" she asked sitting next to him.

Kanan looked down and said nothing. If he told Hera how he really felt she'd worry about him non-stop and he didn't want that. Not at all. "I'm fine."

There was that response. Again. "Kanan. I know you, and you are not fine right now. I've barely seen you in the past few days and-" she sighed and looked down. That wasn't the right wording. She barely saw him and yet he hadn't seen her at all. "What I mean is, please come out. We miss you."

Kanan sighed. "Hera, please I'm fine. I'll figure this out on my own. I don't need your help."

"You may not need my help, but I want to help," Hera said staring at Kanan. His bandages hid his eyes, his hair was no longer tied back away from his face, and his body language read that he was insecure and uncomfortable now that he could no longer see. Malachor changed him.

She glanced around the room and picked up the old strip of wool he used to tie his hair. She sat back next to Kanan and tied his hair back away from his face.

Kanan looked confused. "Hera, what are you doing?"

"Helping you, Kanan. The medics said you'd need our support."

"Putting my hair up won't make a difference, Hera. I'm blind," he said bitterly.

Hera sighed. "It might not seem like much, but it also might help you feel more like yourself."

Kanan let out a heavy sigh wishing to say nothing more.

"Maybe you could join us out there? Would you like a cup of caf? Anything?" Hera asked quietly. She stared at Kanan waiting for a response.

"No, I'm fine," he said. He looked down and went back into his thoughts.

Hera stood up and stopped in the door frame. "Alright, I understand, but don't forget, we're all here for you Kanan."

Kanan nodded slowly in response. Hera left and sat back in the pilot's chair and sighed. She couldn't expect Kanan to be the same person he was, nor could she try to push him any further then he was comfortable with, but she hoped things would be okay. For both Ezra and Kanan.
