Finally. First month was over for them. Another month to pass for the teen couple. Complications between them happened of course, some misunderstandings.. y'know, couple stuff.

Lately, Star's been noticing that she haven't visited her family in a while. It made her homesick. In all honesty.. she actually missed everything about Mewni. The fresh sweet aroma of Corn, the bickering villagers, the constant visit of outside monsters, and of course.. her home; the royal castle.

She sulked, sitting on her chair. She looked out the window and thought:

Earth and Mewni are really different.. I didn't have a Marco there.. but I did have a Tom.

She sighed. Gaining unwanted attention from Marco. The brunette looked at her in confusion and concern. Wondering what could be boggling her mind.

Definately something that could distract her from basic algebra, that's for sure.

He thought.

It seemed like Star's been distancing herself. Sometimes, she'd be with Janna or Starfan13. Or maybe she's alone.. in the bathroom. Star in the bathroom. All by herself.

Marco however, didn't seem to care. He thought, maybe it's a part of a relationship. Maybe she needed some space. So he did. He gave her some space.

Star was already in her own space, she didn't need more. She was comfortable. She felt.. home.

Still looking through the glass, she studied the view. Waving through the window, as a student passes by. Smiling at them, but she remained unnoticed.

Maybe they didn't see me

She shrugged the thought of being forgotten, and turned her focus to the board. She then felt a piece of paper on her elbow.

It is paper.

Star took the paper and read what was written.

"Hey, is everything fine? You're oddly quiet today" - M

Realizing who it was from, she turned to the boy next to her. Marco.

She wrote.

"I'm fine. Don't mind me"

Afterwards, she secretly sneaked the small piece of paper on Marco's table.

She said she was fine.

Clearly she isn't.

Waving through a window.

But nobody noticed.

I want to go home.

I jotted down some notes for Math and answered some seatworks. I'm improving. I had a D+. That's progress right?

I'm really trying hard to reach higher grades. I want to be successful! Not only because I was born to be, but because I worked hard to. I don't want to be known for being the princess who's future was set in stone. I want to be the princess who gave it her all!

So that's what I'm doing.. studying hard. Even though I hate it, I'm trying to endure it. How do people have it soooo easy?

I mean, "who brings their 'x' in the equation?! What's done is done! You can't go around finidng you're 'x' if you already broke up with them? That's why you're always asking students 'Y'- just don't find your 'x'! That's ea-'z'-ier" I said. Without the right state of mind, realizing that I said that out loud.

"Is there something you want to share, Butterfly?" Ms. Skullneik asked.

I stared at her like a deer in headlights.

Everyone was looking at me, confused.

"Nothing, I-I was just uhm.. uh.. solving for.. 'x'..?" It turned out more of a question that an answer.

She didn't seem convinced.

"Then would you mind answering what's on the board?" She pointed at the given problem.

I stared at it. How could I embarass myself so much like this?!

"Uh... uhm.. I.. i-is it.. uh..."

I didn't know what to say!

"Well?"

"I uhm.. it's uh.. 12?" I smiled nervously.

"12? You sure about that?" She said.

OKAY LADY! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH 'X'! ALL I KNOW IS HOW TO GET RID OF THEM!

But I didn't say that. I nodded slowly.

"Heh. Looks like you're learning after all, sit down" she scoffed. I exhaled the breath that I've been holding. I sat down. Marco looked shocked.

"H-how did you answer-r that?" He stammered. He looked at me as if it was impossible.

"uh... lucky guess?" I smiled a bit.

The class went on.

As Marco and I got home, I went straight to my room and tried answering my homework. I ended up having no idea what to write.

I snuck into Marco's bedroom, I was about to get his notebook to copy the answers. Until I got caught.

"Uh.. what are you doing?" He asked me. I looked at him. I felt my body moving throught the air. My spine had a temporary lift to arch my back properly. I felt my feet start it's motion towards the door. One foot after the other. Step after step.

"I was never here.." I said. (More like, I was never "Heere" amirite 😂😂😂)

"Star. What the heck."

"I uh... need help with my Math's homework?" I showed him my notebook.

"Sure! I'd like to help you" He said. My heart fluttered from his words. He wants to help me. Isn't he mad that I was going to cheat, using his own homework?

"T-thanks!" I blushed profusely. Stuttering at my words.

He led me to his bed. I sat, while he took his notebook and sat next to me.

"Okay so here's what you do.." he explained the formula perfectly. He had the right set of words to say what he needed to express. I looked at him. He's so cute when he's focused.

My heart kept beating.

Please.. not too loud! He's going to hear you!

I told my heart. Why did he have to be such a cute idiot?! Without even realizing, I was staring at him.

"And that is how you get the 'z'. Do you understand?" He smiled at me.

I nodded slowly.

"Then I guess, you can answer this on your own" he handed my notebook back to me.

"W-what?" I asked him.

"Answer your homework?" He was waiting for me to grab my notebook back.

"So uh.. here's the thing.. I don't actually understand any of what you just said" I gestured over my notebook.

He sighed.

"You're waiting for me to answer this for you, aren't you?" He looked at me, displeased. I smiled and nodded a yes.

He walked towards his table, my notebook in his hand. He sat down and started answering.

"Thank youu!!!!!" I exclaimed as I laid down in his bed.

"These stupid things I do.." He sighed once again. I took a short nap as I waited for him to finish answering.

I closed her notebook. I made sure that I forged her handwriting well.

Ughhhh I can't believe I'm doing this again!
Things I do for love...

I rested my eyes for a bit. Messing with my hair. I opened my eyes and looked at my bed.

Where Star is lying down.

Where my girlfriend is lying down.

I smiled. I walked over at her to wake her up.

"Star.. star? I've finished your homework... Star?" I shook her a bit.

Her eyes fluttered open. She sat up and yawned. "Oh hey Marco, you didn't have to go to my room" she mumbled. Her voice slurring.

"Star. You're in my room" I said plainly. She grabbed her notebook and walked to her bedroom. "Oh thaaannkksss Marco!..."

"If you need me! I'll be in Mewniiiii!!!" Her voice becoming more muffled as she made her way to her room. I chuckled. She's probably joking again.

Only, she wasn't. I heard the sound of a portal being ripped open. I ran to Star's room. And I saw her about to step into the portal.

I grabbed her hand, stopping her from entering the abyss.

"STAR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I looked into her eyes. Her eyes were gleaming.

She was silent for a minute.

"Tell me what's wrong" I asked her.

"I-I just.. wanted to go home" She averted her eyes.

"Star, you are home" I told her.

"I meant Mewni, don't get me wrong- I love Earth, I just feel really homesick" She looked at the portal.

"I want to visit my family..."

"If you did that.. you won't be gone for a long time aren't you?" I asked her once more. She can't just leave without saying goodbye.

She didn't say anything.

"You'll be back.. right?" I held her hands.

"R..right, I'll be back before dinner" she pulled her hands away from mine.

"See you, Marco" she said before entering the portal.

The portal closed.

"Later, Star"

{ N a r r a t o r ' s   P O V}

It was all dark and empty, where Star wandered for a few minutes.

The princess sighed. Looking through the different portal openings to different dimensions.

Bounce lounge? No.
Cloud city? I don't think so.
Pony head's kingdom? Nah.

She kept looking for an open portal for Mewni.

And there it is. She saw it. Her portal to home. She felt happy just by seeing her castle. Star started walking towards the open entrance.

And in a snap. She was home.

"I'M BAAAAACCKK!!!!" She exclaimed as she kicked the castle door open.

"Goodness!- Star, is that you?" Her mother, Queen Moon, was startled to see her daughter.

"Heeeyyy mommy!" She tackled her mom to the ground, hugging her.

"Star, what are you doing here?!" The queen tried to fix her crown.

"Oh y'know, just visiting my faaaam.. where's dad?" She sat up, standing off of her mother. She helped Moon up.

"He's busy teaching the town's people. He's lecturing" Moon dusted her gown.

"Sure sure 'lecturing'" Star did the quote-unquote sign.

"Nevertheless, can I get you some tea or any beverages? We have biscuits in the pantry" She offered.

"No thanks mom, I'm fine. I just wanted to check up on some things" The rebel princess smiled.

"Oh, I see. Well, sorry to say this but,we're really busy right now. You could come back tomorrow"

"But I just got here!"

"I suggest you go home"

"BUT I AM HOME!"

"Back to Earth Star!"

She was dead silent.

"If you didn't want to see me, you should've said it better" she started to march out of the castle, opening another portal.

She walked through the hole. It wasn't the same now, there are people who are walking by her.

Travellers

She thought. Dimension hoppers, just like her.

She looked left and right, finding a place to chill in.

She walked straight through an entrance.

"The apocalypse of the damned, level nine: THE CAFETORIUM!" I exclaimed.

I was in the middle of my game, a game that no one else in the underrealm could buy but me.

I heard a knock on my door. I groaned.

"UGGGHHH WHAT IS IT NOW?! I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF AN IMPORTANT... MISSION!" I shouted.

Silence..

I continued my game.

It was going great until-

Knock knock knock knock

"uuuggghhhh" I said before pausing my game and made my way to the door.

"What do you wa-" I calmed down when I saw who it was.

"Hello Tom"
