Hello my lovely readers,

As mentioned in the blurb, this is a tweaked version of a story I wrote on another pairing almost 6 years ago.

Neil's POV

"Is this seat taken?", a soft, melodious, female voice asked. Due to the earphones and my doziness, my mind wasn't registering the question fast enough. I pulled out my earphones and looked up.

I looked into two chocolate brown, almond shaped eyes of a girl. She looked at me questioningly and pointed at the seat next to me. Finally understanding the gestures, I nodded, still a little bewildered, because it wasn't usual that someone came to sit next to me in this particular bus. She mumbled a quiet 'thank you' and sit down with a sigh, putting down her huge bag on her lap, which looked heavy. She squinted her eyes and slightly massaged her temples before rummaging in her bag to take out her earphones, putting it on and leant back in her seat.

I, too, went back to my previous position and closed my eyes. But somehow now, it was difficult to do so. So, I sat up slightly and opened my eyes. I was still surprised that the seat next to me was occupied. Even though there were many seats free, she somehow decided to come sit next to me.

Unconsciously, I started observing the side profile of this girl.  Her long black hair was done up in a messy bun, her cheekbones were defined and without her smiling, the dimples were evident. Her skin looked soft. She was wearing casual clothes, neither was it traditional nor modern and the raincoat which she had put over her bag indicated him how much it was actually raining outside. She was holding her phone in a firm grip as if she was afraid that someone would get it away from her. Her right wrist was covered in simple, thin golden bangles.

Just as my eyes moved up again to her face and noticed how she was not wearing any make up, she opened her eyes slightly and looked at me. Startled, I blinked a few times. She didn't say anything but sat up and rubbed her eyes. To not make her feel uncomfortable, I turned my head and watched how the raindrops hit the bus window incessantly.

With a slight jolt, the bus stopped, and I saw from the corner of my eyes how she stood up, wore her jacket and shouldered her bag. The song I was listening to, came to an end and so her voice was clear and teasing.

"Staring is impolite, nice song, though.", she said, the corner of her lips moving into a slight smile. 

Stunned, I looked at her and was not able to return a single word as she winked at me and left.
