016,  soul tied

WITHIN THE past four months, Xana and Aonung spent most days together. It was soon to be Aonung's birthday which also meant that he would be becoming Olo'eyktan meaning that he would have to mate with Âvi, who was picked to be his mate since birth.

But Aonung knew he didn't want to mate with her. They had barley even spoken more than a few sentences with one another growing up. Aonung wanted one girl, and one girl only.

He had already had a small conversation with his father about how he felt. Of course, his father told his mother about the situation. At first, Ronal wasn't happy. But deep down the older woman knew Xana was perfect for her son.

Aonung had asked Xana to meet him by the beach, and she did just that. The sun had already set as several stars decorated the Pandora sky. Aonung interlocked their hands as he guided them into the forest. Xana had only been in the Metkayina forest a few times to practice on her skills. It was pretty, but nothing compared to her home.

A laugh escaped Xana as they edged closer to the Metkayina Tree of Souls. Xana ran her hands over the glowing antennas as she stared in awe. Aonung stood a few feet away from her, observing the girl in front of him. "I hear you are to be mated with Âvi. She is a beautiful girl." Xana began the conversation. Xana winced slightly at how jealous she sounded. But she couldn't help it.

"I don't want Âvi." The knowing tone in Aonung's voice sent shivers down Xana's spine as she looked over her shoulder, making eye contact with his siren eyes. As Aonung took a step closer, Xana down around to face him. As he stared down at her, he couldn't help but feel weak under her gaze. "I want you." Aonung whispered, only loud enough for her to hear — though it wasn't like anyone else was around.

Aonung brought his braid over his shoulder knowingly as Xana slightly tilted her head to the side. "Are you sure you want this?" She asked. Xana seemed to have trouble believing he would want a girl like her.

"Yes." He breathed out, watchingng as she held her braid up. As he held his up, their tendrils interwinded. The couple felt the same jolt being sent through their body as their souls because one. Xana's eyes fluttered open again, as did Aonung's. Xana smiled brightly as she flung her arms around Aonung's neck, raising on her tip toes, before pulling him in for a kiss.

A small groan left Xana's body as she sat up, feeling the weight of Aonung's arm which had been draped around her waist the entire night. The newly mated couple had decided to sleep deeper within the forest that night, giving Xana a sense of deja vu.

They had planned to return at sunrise, so nobody would suspect anything yet, but Xana could tell from the blue sky that it was far past sunrise. Xana lightly slapped Aonung's cheeks, making his eyes shoot open. "Rise and shine, sunshine." Xana spoke with a smirk. Aonung reached up to lightly slap her around the head, but she dodged him as she ran back towards the village with him quick on her heel.

Xana looked over her shoulder to see if Aonung was still following her when she ran into a body, almost sending whoever it was to the floor. Xana turned back around to apologise as the persons eyes widened. "Xana? Where was you? We've been looking for you all night! You can't just disappear like that, skxawng." Lo'ak vexed, slapping Xana around the head.

"Chill, bro." Xana dismissed him as she spotted her parents and Aonung's parents hurrying towards them. "Fuck." Xana mumbled as Aonung halted beside her, flicking her ear. She sent him a glare as the four parents stopped infront of them.

"Where was you?! You both had us all worried sick!" Jake began as Xana dropped her head. "They have mated." A familiar voice spoke. Xana looked back up, spotting Aonung's grandmother. "What?" Jake breathed out. "Can you not see? It is very clear."

"Is this true?" Neytiri asked, his eyes flickering between the two. "Yes." Xana responded, not bothering to hide it from her mother. Neytiri was left dumbfounded. It was not like she could judge, after all she did mate with someone who wasn't even born a na'vi and neither could Ronal judge since she mated with someone she wasn't meant to.

"You are well suited." Aonung's grandmother spoke with a smile as the small woman stepped forward, squeezing both Xana and Aonung's cheeks, forcing them both to awkwardly smile.
