Gabriella Hastings was dead.

Well not really.

Or not yet. However you wanna say it.

But to her, it sure as hell felt like it. She felt like she did the day Wells got poisoned and she accidentally cut herself with the poisoned knife from his chest. Just this time, she was the one with a doctor standing above her as a hot knife was pressed against her stomach and she was the one letting out screams of agony.

When the knife moved away, she was met with teary eyes of Bellamy Blake as he brushed away the sweat on her forehead and it only made her close her again. She tried to melt in the feeling of comfort his embrace gave her because if she was going to die, she wanted it to be like this.

Bellamy's look of relief was short-lived the second he saw her blue eyes flutter shut and the hand that was cupping her cheek, started shaking her head, "Gabi, stay with me. Come on, just wake up. I need you to open your eyes. Come on, show me your blues."

Gabriella couldn't fight it this time. The only comforting thing about dying was the fact that she had someone fighting for her to stay alive. And as terrifying as dying was, Bellamy's presence alone made her feel like she was only falling asleep. His pleads for her to stay awake were the last thing she heard before falling unconscious once again.

Bellamy Blake felt like the air was knocked out of his lungs.

The second Clarke flipped the switch and Kane was back to normal, the two of them returned to the throne room, only for Bellamy's blood to run cold at the sight of Wells standing above an unconscious Gabi with his hand pressing against her bloody stomach.

"Keep your eyes open." he heard Wells order, tears falling down his cheek, "Ella, I swear if you don't stay with me I'm going to bring you back and kill you myself."

Gabi didn't seem to hear him at all because her eyes squeezed shut and the next words she muttered broke Bellamy's heart to pieces, "It hurts."

"Ella." Wells muttered, shaking her head, "Ella. Ella. Ella! Wake up!"

His yells drew everyone's attention towards them. Bellamy didn't get the chance to see Kane's heartbroken face or the way all color seemed to drain from his sister and Clarke's faces. He didn't do anything but keep his eyes on her and the second her eyes fluttered closed, he was finally able to move again.

He fell down on his knees on the opposite side of Wells and was finally able to get his brain to work enough to move his fingers underneath her jaw, sighing in relief when he felt her pulse was there and felt his own heartbeat slow down, almost matching hers completely, "She's alive."

"For now." Wells muttered under his breath but Bellamy still heard him and stiffened slightly. The younger boy didn't even give him an apologetic look like he usually was and instead snapped his gaze towards Abby and gave her a heated glare, "Get over here and save her life or her blood is gonna be on your hands."

His words seemed to snap Abby out of her state of shock and she gave her now awake daughter a lingering look before hurrying towards the trio and replacing Wells' hand on the bottom of Gabi's stomach.

"What the hell hap ── " Pike's voice died in his throat and Bellamy snapped his head around to see his sister dragging her sword out of his chest and the former Chancellor's lifeless body fell down on the floor.

But Bellamy didn't have time to think about his sister. Not this time.

He turned back around to see Abby putting her hand on her lower back and she sighed, looking between Wells and Bellamy, "One of you two is going to have to take out her bullet."

-

Bellamy couldn't stop staring at the dried blood on his hands. Gabi's blood.

The blood he didn't even have the energy to wash out after they climbed back down to the bottom of the tower. Not even when everyone else has left the small room, leaving him alone to look after Gabi, praying to whatever gods were up there that she would wake up. Because in all honesty? He had no idea what the fuck he was going to do if she didn't.

According to Clarke, the world was ending already and to him, it really did feel like that. But for an entirely different reason.

His thoughts were overflowing his head and making it feel like it was going to explode.

He blamed himself.

But then again, when didn't he?

It was one of the first things he realized he and Gabi had in common. Even when it wasn't necessarily their fault but it was just the people they have become when they took on the leadership roles.

Bellamy cursed under his breath and looked back down at Gabi, gently taking her hand in his and sighing when he felt how cold she actually was. He knew she wasn't fragile. She was far from it really. But seeing her lifeless body bleeding out on the floor was going to be a picture forever tattooed in his brain.

"𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰? 𝘌𝘭, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯." Raven's voice pleaded through the radio in Bellamy's back pocket.

He ran his fingers through his curls and put the radio to his lips, "Raven? You okay?"

"𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩." came back her shaky reply, "𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦."

Bellamy nodded to himself, glad that at least someone was doing alright, "That's good. There's something you have to look into though. Clarke will explain everything better once we get back though."

"𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦." Raven quickly shot back, probably hearing how stiff his voice was, "𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵." she hesitated, "𝘌𝘭𝘭𝘢? 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴?"

"Wells is fine."

He could hear her swallow, "𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘌𝘭𝘭𝘢?"

Bellamy let out a shaky breath and then stated, "She got shot. Abby shot her when Gabi was trying to kill Clarke while being chipped." he rubbed a hand over his forehead, "Her heart stopped, Raven."

"𝘚𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?" the urgency and fear in Raven's voice was clear and it took him a second to get his thoughts straight to answer and she got impatient, "𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺?"

"She's fine now." he cleared his throat, "She's still unconscious but we should be getting her back to Arkadia now."

He was going to explain the end of the world to her, just for the sake of taking his mind off of things but his attention was soon taken away from the radio and towards a panting Wells standing in the doorway, "We have to go. Now."

"She isn't awake."

Wells let out a huff, "Well then carry her. Roan got shot and Alina is on a damn murder spree. So we have to get out of Polis as fast as possible."

-

Gabriella's entire body felt sore the second she became conscious. There was a sharp pain in her side and everything came rushing back to her.

ALIE.

Wick holding a gun to Bellamy's head.

Taking the chip.

Abby shooting her.

Dying.

She fluttered her eyes open and the first face she saw was Bellamy's. She hadn't managed to even get a word out before he was rushing towards her and cupping the side of her face with both relief and concern in his eyes.

"Hey, Gabi."

Gabriella swallowed, trying to ease up her dry throat and then tried to offer him a weak smile, "Hey, Freckles." she cleared her throat and noted it was dark outside through the windows of the small room, "Where is everyone?"

"Wells is distracting Alina and Echo while Octavia, Abby and Clarke are sneaking into a building secured with Ice Nation guards to save Roan." Bellamy sighed, his words making her eyebrows shoot up in surprise.

"Fun." she deadpanned with a small smirk, "Why am I always missing out on all the fun?"

Bellamy, on the other hand, wasn't amused. He shook his head, "You almost died."

"But I didn't."

"Yeah, you actually kinda did ── "

His words were broken when someone cleared their throat and both of them turned their attention to the doorway.

"Give us a second, Blake." Murphy stated, giving Bellamy a dismissive look. In return, the oldest Blake leveled him with an annoyed glare.

"No."

Murphy's eyes narrowed at him, "I wasn't asking."

"I'm not in the mood, John." Gabriella scowled at him. She took in the backpack thrown over his shoulder and the rifle in his hand, "I see you're doing what you do best. Leaving. So how about you go back to that and leave me alone? Or even better; say what you want to say in front of Bellamy. I'm not staying alone in a room with you."

"What does he have that I don't?" Murphy shook his head with a bittersweet look and the words were out of Gabriella's mouth before she could even think twice about it.

"He stayed."

Murphy clenched his jaw tightly and visibly swallowed, "Is that all I had to do? Is that really all I had to do?"

Gabriella scoffed and then nodded, "Yeah, John. It was that simple. And to answer your question about us. Yes, you have lost me forever."

An almost defeated expression passed Murphy's face as he returned her nod and took a step back, "Good to know." he turned to Bellamy and gave him an emotionless look, "Take care of her."

"You know I will." came back Bellamy's immediate response and this time, Murphy didn't even look back as he left again. Just this time, Gabriella wasn't the least bit surprised.

Bellamy let out a sigh and turned to Gabriella with a worried look on his face, "You okay?"

"Nothing I can't handle."

"I know you can. It doesn't mean you have to, though."

-

Not even ten minutes later, Azgeda guards led by Echo came barging in and practically dragged them to a dungeon where the rest of their friends were. Apparently, their mission to save Roan was a success but it backfired with him being the one to lock them up.

That's what happens when Gabriella doesn't come up with the plans.

In the few minutes she and Bellamy had before they got locked up, he filled her in on what Clarke found out before she flipped the switch in the City of Light. The world was ending.

Again.

And this time. There wasn't a Becca that could save all of them. So it was safe to say they were pretty fucked.

The sound of chains being dragged along the floor snapped Gabriella out of her thoughts and she moved her gaze away from Bellamy's fingers she was previously playing with and towards Abby moving closer to Clarke.

She watched as Abby cupped her cheek and touched her face softly with a small feeling of envy bubbling in her chance. The last memory she had of her mother was when she hallucinated her in the woods after eating too many nuts.

"I loved her, mom." Clarke realised a sad sob and Gabriella's eyes softened as Abby whipped her daughter's tears away. Her eyes involuntarily moved to Wells, who was watching and listening to the interaction carefully and with an emotionless look on his dirt and blood covered place.

As if he was feeling her eyes on her, Wells snapped out of his daze and looked at her and then back at the ground, almost like he was caught doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing.

She threw him a sympathetic look just as the doors of the cell were unlocked and one of the guards barked out sharply in Clarke's direction, "Wanheda, on your feet."

Clarke hurried to her feet with wide eyes, "Where's the king?"

Gabriella lifted her head from Bellamy's lap and stared between Clarke and the Ice Nation men with furrowed eyebrows. Her head snapped in the direction of the doorway to see Echo slowly walking inside with a small smirk on her face.

"Hey, I need to see Roan." Clarke told her but in response, a bag was thrown over her head, muffling her words. Abby tried to reach for her daughter but two guards held her back, allowing her to only scream out for them to stop along with Wells while they dragged Clarke out of the room.

"Echo, come on!" Wells yelled after the grounder desperately but didn't receive an answer, only leaning his head back against the wall with a clenched jaw.

"I know you have all come here for an execution, but no one else will die here today. The City of Light has fallen and there is no Commander left to rule us. Until another Nightblood ascends; I, King Roan of Azgeda, eldest child of Nia, son of Elijah, grandson of Theo, am the caretaker of the throne" Roan lifted the flame in the air for the entire crowd to see, "and keeper of the flame."

Everyone besides the few Skaikru people in the back gasped in surprise and started to complain. Gabriella on the other hand, could do nothing but lean on Bellamy in support and stare between Roan and Alina on stage with an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach.

In return for letting them go, Clarke told Roan all about the world ending and also made the ( possibly dumb ) decision of giving him the flame. Gabriella had no idea how she was supposed to feel about it.

She didn't trust Roan one bit but Alina seemed trustworthy enough. It would be so much easier if she was crowned queen instead of her brother. She didn't feel good about Roan being in control of the clans. Actually, she didn't trust anyone in Azgeda at all.

"𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩! 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙮." a girl that looked just a little younger than eighteen yelled out and Gabriella couldn't help but notice the way Indra stiffened at the words but she blamed it on the stress of everything that happened recently.

"𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙮." Roan shook his head, "𝙊𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧. Until another ascends, Azgeda honors and will defend the coalition of the last true Commander, Lexa Kom Trikru, including the thirteenth clan. Let it be known that an attack against Skaikru is an attack against us all."

Gabriella couldn't help but raise her eyebrows in surprise. Especially when the crowd seemed even more doubtful at Roan's words.

As much as she didn't like him, she had to admit he had a bigger talent at pissing people off than Bellamy did at pissing her off when they first landed on Earth with the hundred.

The pain in Gabriella's side was only starting to increase as she watched Wells walk away from Alina with a bitter scowl on his face.

She raised an eyebrow at the pissed off look the usually calm boy was wearing but he ignored her and nodded towards the gates of the city, "It's time to go."

"We'll do our best to keep the king on his throne." Kane gave them a tight-lipped smile and put a hand on Gabriella's shoulder, gently squeezing it with a soft look in his eyes that made her want to roll her eyes.

Of course he was going to be the only person to forget just how much she hated when people walk on eggshells around her after something shitty happens.

"We'll find a way to beat the radiation." Clarke told him.

"You're not god Clarke." Gabriella sighed and this time, there was zero venom in her words as she looked at the fellow blonde with a frown, "I don't think there's anything we can do to stop this from happening."

"She's right." Wells nodded, "But we can still try to keep as many of our people safe as we can. There must be bunkers we can find or something."

Octavia let out a sigh and raised an unimpressed eyebrow, looking between Kane and Clarke, "If either of you screw this up, we die. No pressure."

Gabriella snorted at her words in brief amusement and felt Bellamy's body vibrate as a silent chuckle left his lips before the seriousness of the situation dawned on him and he composed himself, "If anyone finds out why Roan helped us, it'll be every clan for itself. The king will fall and they'll come after us."

"It's getting dark." Clarke chimed in, "Let's do this."

The Hastings bit her bottom lip and limped away from Bellamy, opening her arms and raising an eyebrow Octavia's way. The brunette girl faintly smiled and quickly accepted the hug, wrapping her arms around her neck.

"Don't do anything characteristically dangerous." Gabriella whispered in her ear and heard Octavia let out a soft breathy chuckle.

"Only if you don't do anything too reckless while I'm gone."

Gabriella gave her an amused smile when they pulled away, "No promises."

She moved away from her and let the Blake siblings share a goodbye hug, only to be greeted by Kane pulling her into an unexpected hug.

"We seem to do this a lot lately, huh?" Gabriella said, awkwardly hugging her uncle back and tapping his back.

Kane gave her a scolding look when they pulled away, "Only because you almost got yourself killed."

"Good to know that's the only reason." the blonde gave him a sarcastic smile and almost let out a sigh of relief when a hand was thrown around her waist and her hand almost instinctively went to Bellamy's shoulder.

He helped her limp towards the gate and Clarke and Wells trailed behind them. Bellamy raised an eyebrow, looking down at Gabriella, "So . . . what now, Bambi?"

"We save as many of our people as possible." Gabriella responded after staring at the floor in silence for a few seconds, "And then I get some more sleep because my head is killing me."
