"It's been three hours. What are they waiting for?" Bellamy complained for what felt like the hundredth time in the past half an hour.

"Can you stop whining?" Gabriella snapped, gripping the wheel in her hand. Although she was starting to get impatient herself. They have been sitting in the rover for more than three hours after the grounders ambushed them and made a tree fall in front of the rover. Wells nodded in agreement and Gabriella saw him give Kane a deadpan look through the rearview mirror while he spoke, "We can make a run for it. There's literally nobody there."

"No." Kane shook his head, "That's what they want us to do."

"The boy is right." Indra drew out slowly, "They can wait longer than we can."

Gabriella allowed herself to turn around and face the others after three hours of staring through the windows and saw Kane staring at the floor in deep thought, before he sighed.

"Okay, Bellamy. Get in the turret, and you cover for us. Once we get to that ridge over there, we'll cover you."
Shaking her head, Gabriella didn't even try to hide her dislike for that plan and scoffed while glaring at Kane, "Yeah, absolutely not."

"It will be fine." Bellamy pushed, his eyebrows raised in slight surprise at her outburst but he was quick to recover and turn back to Kane, "Copy that. Run fast."

"Bell ── "

"I'll be fine." the Blake brother assured her and didn't give her a chance to argue further as he opened the hatch on top of the rover and pushed the top of his body out of it. Gabriella bit her finger nails in anticipation, her body going completely still when she heard Bellamy's shaky voice from the outside.

"They're here."

All four of them inside aimed their weapons towards the hatch when they heard a male voice yell, "Everybody out or the boy dies."

Gabriella couldn't exactly put her finger on it, but she could have sworn that she heard that voice somewhere before. She didn't even get a chance to say anything, before the other part of Bellamy's body was pulled out of the rover completely.

"Woah, woah, woah." she yelled, voice noticeably shaking in panic, "We're coming out. Just don't hurt him, alright?"

She got up from the driver's seat and brushed past her father to open the rover doors, being the first person to come outside. Wells was quick to rush out behind her, but neither expected to be tackled to the floor. Gabriella's eyes widened and she looked up from the floor to meet Bellamy's eyes, who was also struggling on the floor.

"All targets are secure!" a woman's voice yelled out, making Gabriella's eyebrows furrow in confusion. That certainly didn't sound like a grounder to her. She didn't have much time to think about it, because a second later, Monty was tugged up on his feet and a masked person in front of him was holding their beacon up, "Found it."

"It's mine." Monty struggled out, "Give it back!"

"Monty, let it go." Bellamy yelled towards him and Gabriella could barely see one of the masked people halt in their movements and let out a gasp.

"Monty?"

Everyone there seemed to freeze at the women's words, while Monty's eyes widened and he uttered the words of disbelief, "Mom?"

Wells blinked, taken aback, "Mom?"

"Mom?" Gabriella repeated under her breath, feeling the person holding her down loosen their grip on her hands. She angled her head so she could look up properly, only to see one of the people dressed in grounder clothing take their mask off to reveal Hannah Green, Monty's mom. Monty stared at her in shock while she instantly launched herself on him and tackled him into what looked like a bone crushing hug. Gabriella awkwardly listened to the silent sobs her friend and his mother were letting out before she looked over her shoulder and narrowed her eyes.

"So are you gonna let me go now?" she asked blankly, feeling like her neck is about to snap because of the position she was laying in.

The person hesitated, but let go as soon as a voice from behind them ordered, "Farm Station, stand down."

Gabriella got to her feet and grimaced at the sight of Charles Pike standing in front of them. 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘶𝘺. He was one of the most arrogant and annoying people she has ever met. She hated his guts, especially after hearing he beat up a few kids in Earth Skills. He was also her Earth Skills teacher for a while but she wasn't allowed to attend class that often in the Sky Box.

"Pike?" Kane gasped with shock written all over his face.

"You have no idea how good it is to see you." Pike chuckled with a grin, helping Kane get to his feet.

The two shared a brief friendly hug and Gabriella took the moment in which they were both distracted to look at Bellamy, who was wearing a bored look on his face, and Wells who looked as annoyed as ever. 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘑𝘢𝘩𝘢 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴?

"We didn't think you made it." Gabriella briefly heard her step-father slash uncle comment and chose to ignore their conversation and turned to Bellamy and Wells instead, mainly looking at the former.

"You okay?" she asked him, genuinely concerned, "You didn't get stabbed or anything right?"

"All good, Artemis." Bellamy said, chuckling a bit under his breath with a small teasing grin on his face, "Happy to see you care."

"Don't worry, I won't make a big habit out of it." Gabriella shot back and just to prove her point, she turned to Wells with a sarcastic ( but almost flirty ) grin, "You feeling alright, Charming?"

The corner of Wells' lips twitched upwards as soon as Bellamy rolled his eyes and he gave the blonde a nod while also trying to keep his laugh in, "I'm alright, Ella."

"Perfect." Gabriella grinned and raised a pointed eyebrow at Bellamy before she turned around to face the others. She turned around just in time to hear Monty ask his mother, "Where's dad?"

"Your father didn't make it." Hannah admitted sadly, making Gabriella's face fall as soon as she saw the tears gathering in Monty's eyes. Jacob Green wasn't always Gabriella's favorite person ( due to him always judging Monty for how much time he spent with Jasper ) but she knew how close he and Monty always were. He was the only reason Monty started training as an engineer in the first place and that's how she met him that soon in her life.

While everyone else gave Monty and Hannah sympathetic looks while they hugged, Gabriella swallowed and took a step towards them as soon as they pulled away. She gave Hannah a tight lipped smile while putting a comforting hand on Monty's shoulder, "Hi, Mrs. G."

Hannah's face brightened up slightly at the sight of the blonde, "Gabriella it's so good to see you again. Are you still looking after my boy?"

"Always." Gabriella confirmed and as soon as Hannah moved away, she hugged Monty's arm and leaned her forehead on his shoulder to whisper, "You wanna head back? Clarke can wait."

When she looked up at him, Monty shook his head although she could still see he was holding back tears. His voice was shaking when he responded, "I will be fine. We have to find her as soon as possible."

Monty has never been the person to bottle up his emotions. Especially when he was grieving. She saw it first hand whenever they lost someone in the dropship. He was easy to read and walked around wearing his heart on his sleeve which made Gabriella love him even more but she also knew he would only break harder when he loses one of the people closest to him. Like now.

Obviously sensing her uncertainty, Monty squeezed her hand back, "Ella, I'm gonna be okay. I just need a second and then I'll be ready to go."

"How many of you are there?" Kane's question tore them out of their silent conversation.

"Sixty three." Pike informed him, "The rest are camped in the mountains North of here. Grounder killers one one and all. Am I right?"

The rest of Farm Station responded with loud war cries that made Gabriella purse her lips awkwardly and share a look with Wells that practically screamed 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬?

Bellamy cleared his throat awkwardly and took a step to the front, "I hate to cut this short but we need to find Clarke."

"Clarke Griffin?" the former teacher raised an eyebrow, "If only all of my Earth Skills students were as good as her. Of course not many came close to ── "

Gabriella's cough cut him off and made him turn to her, "Me?"

"Well I'll be damned." Pike chuckled in surprise, not noticing her lack of enthusiasm, "Gabriella Kane."

"It's Hastings now actually." the blonde corrected, her clenched fists crossed over her chest.

Bellamy raised his eyebrow at the glare Gabriella was sending towards Pike and instead of calling her out, he turned to Pike with his hand extended, "It's good to see you, Sir."

Pike accepted his hand with a laugh, "Yeah. You too."

As soon as he was out of earshot, Gabriella stepped close to Bellamy and scoffed under her breath. Her next words came out as a provocative whisper, "Suck up."

Bellamy scoffed, actually looking a little offended, "I am not a suck up."

Gabriella gave him a side glance and raised her eyebrow, "Yes you are."

"No I'm ── "

Their quiet bickering was cut off when Kane cleared his throat and gave them a pointed look. When they both looked up, Kane solemnly turned to Bellamy and nodded towards the tree that Farm Station crashed in front of the rover, "Bellamy, help them move the tree."

While a few of them were moving the tree, Gabriella joined Kane's side in front of Pike. Her uncle furrowed his eyebrows at Pike, "You said Sixty three but Farm Station left the orbit with three times that number."

"We landed with that number too." Pike told them bitterly, turning to glare at Indra, or more specifically the grounder clothes she was wearing. That was the first time Gabriella noticed how they all looked at Indra. Like they were the hunters and she was the prey. They were ready to kill her any second.

"The Ice Nation can be ruthless." Indra hissed with obvious distaste on her face and in her voice, "Take pride in the number you saved."

Kane took a deep breath and turned towards the grounder woman, "Indra, this is Charles Pike. He was a teacher on The Ark."

"And a dictator." Wells coughed falsely, walking behind Gabriella and resting his elbow on the rover. His words made the blonde in front of him snort but as soon as Kane looked at them with a scolding look, she covered it with a fake cough.

Deciding to ignore their childish behavior, Kane turned back to Pike, "Pike this is Indra. She's the leader of Trikru and a trusted ally."

Indra and Pike had a long stared down when the latter broke the silence, "I'll have to take your word for it."

-

After Gabriella gave Farm Station coordinates so they could make it back to Arkadia safely, Pike 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘺 volunteered to come with them along with Hannah and two other guards. Gabriella wasn't sure who was feeling more uncomfortable through the drive in the rover, she, Indra or Wells who were stuck in the back with Pike while she was driving and Bellamy was sitting next to her.

By the time they arrived at the place Indra told them Clarke was last spotted at, there was already loud yelling coming from a wooden hut in the middle of nowhere. Gabriella didn't hesitate to raise her rifle and soon saw the others doing the same beside her, while Indra took out her sword. Bellamy was the first to rush inside, instantly firing his gun.

Gabriella blinked at his urgency and hurriedly inside to see a wounded blonde woman on the floor and an unconscious man lying next to her, probably dead.

After warily checking if anyone else was inside, everyone entered the hut and Gabriella brushed past Bellamy to carefully walk towards the unfamiliar woman. She lowered her rifle and checked over her injuries with her eyes before asking, "Are you alright? Did he hurt you too much?"

The grounder shook her head and Gabriella nodded, turning around to see Wells checking the pulse of the man Bellamy shot. He looked up to meet her gaze, shaking his head at the silent question, letting Gabriella know that he was dead.

"Bounty Hunter." Indra breathed out in realization, staring at the dead body and then turning to the fellow grounder in the room, "𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥."

"English." Pike exclaimed, his rude tone making the muscle in Gabriella's jaw twitch and her fist clench. Kane didn't seem to like his tone much either, because he turned to his old friend with narrowed eyes and ordered, "Pike, go outside. Take Monty and Hannah. Search the perimeter. Make sure he was alone."

Pike hesitated, before doing as he was told with Monty and Hannah hot on his heels. Now that he was gone, Gabriella could see the tension leaving Indra and she turned to the blonde grounder more gently.

"𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙝𝙚𝙙𝙖."

"So was he."

Wells rubbed a hand over his sweaty face, "Please. Her life is in danger and we need to find her."

"You're Skaikru?" she asked, head tilted to the side curiously.

Gabriella nodded immediately, "Yes."
After hesitating, the woman spoke, "She was here last night."

"Did she say where she was going?" Kane was quick to ask but received a shaky response that didn't help them at all.

"No. She was here when I fell asleep and gone when I woke up."

𝘚𝘰 𝘢 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥? 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦. Gabriella mentally noted while whistling under her breath, "Seems like Princess has a type."

Bellamy's eyebrows shot up in surprise at her bluntness, Wells cleared his throat and Kane simply gave her another scolding look.

Gabriella felt heat crawling up her neck and crossed her arms over her chest, "Sorry, did I say that out loud?"

"Yes, yes you did." Kane informed her in an annoyed tone and then kept with the interrogation, "Did she give you any indication of where she might go?"

"No . . . but he did." she nodded towards the dead Bounty Hunter, "He said that his partner came back for her. He was Ice Nation. I hope you find her."

"Thank you." Bellamy nodded just as Monty practically ran back inside.

"Good news. I found fresh tracks." he informed them, making Gabriella nod with a brief smile.

"Perfect." she said, "Let's get going then. Back in the rover of awkwardness we go."

"That's the bad news . . . " Monty said awkwardly, "there's too many trees. We have to go on foot."

𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵.

-

An hour later, they were walking on foot and Gabriella didn't even feel sorry that she was more worried about her car they left behind than her former friend they were looking for. Clarke has been one of the most important people in her life once upon a time but now that she realized how much of a selfish coward she was, she couldn't care less about what happened to her.

And as much as she hated to admit it, the only reason she was here and not back in camp trying to stop Jasper from drinking himself to death was Wells. She had a feeling he was going to do something incredibly stupid. And she's thinking 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘳𝘬 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘐'𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 kind of stupid.

"You haven't told me what happened to dad." Gabriella heard Monty whisper to his mom while she was walking behind them besides Bellamy.

Hannah sighed, "All your father wanted was to find you. He loved you. That's what matters."

That was all she said before she picked up her pace and walked away, leaving her son to be stuck in the middle of Gabriella and Bellamy. The former gave Monty a worried look, which he brushed off and then hurried after his mother. Gabriella sighed and felt her shoulders fall down. Just because she spent the last few months completely ignoring her feelings, it doesn't mean Monty needed to take a page out of her book and do the same.

"Can I ask you a question?" Pike asked her and Bellamy, appearing behind them. When Bellamy nodded, he continued, "Last report we got on The Ark, you were under attack by grounders. What changed?"

"People died and we had nothing else to fight about after that." Gabriella stated bluntly, swallowing and avoiding his gaze.

Bellamy looked at her and waited a moment before saying, "It turned out that we had a common enemy."

"What happened to them?"

"We won."

"Quiet." Indra hissed from her spot at the beginning of the line. Everyone went silent and Gabriella faintly heard the sound of war drums in the distance.

"War drums?" Wells asked with furrowed eyebrows, coming to stand next to Gabriella and Bellamy and receiving a simultaneous nod from them in response.

"Azgeda." Indra spoke, her voice low but still loud enough for everyone to hear. Monty blinked in confusion, not sure if he heard her right, "You can tell it's Ice Nation from the sound?"

Indra scoffed under her breath and pointed towards three dead bodies in the grass not far from them, "No. From them."

Gabriella didn't hesitate to reach for her rifle. She noted the way blood still seemed to be coming out which only meant that whoever killed them shouldn't have been far.

"We need to get those bodies off the field." Pike exclaimed, "Unless you're with them thinking we did this."

Kane surprisingly nodded in agreement, "Go. Hurry."

His niece scoffed, rolled her eyes and jogged to where Wells and Bellamy were looking through their rifles. She lifted her own up to look if she could see anyone just when Bellamy's urgent voice spoke up, "Wait. There's two people at twelve o'clock."

Gabriella's jaw tightened and she looked more closely and when she saw who it was, her rifle almost fell out of her hands. 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘯 aka 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘢.

She was gagged and an unfamiliar strong man was carrying her around while she was obviously putting up a fight and trying to get away. Great, another Bounty Hunter.

"It's Clarke." Wells gasped in realization, his eyes lighting up with hope. After months of his not so subtle sneaking out to look for her, he finally found her.

𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘵. Gabriella couldn't help but think. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭.

Wells didn't waste a second to try and rush after her, Gabriella's eyes widened and she ran after him, gripping his forearm tightly to stop him from going further. Pike obviously had the same idea because he stepped right in front of him, successfully blocking his way.

"Hey, hey. You'll never make it in time."

Gabriella hated to agree, but he did have a point, "You're gonna get yourself killed and I'd rather not carry your dead body back to Arkadia. Just calm down and we'll find her soon."

"They're right." Bellamy spoke up and nodded towards the other side of the field, "Look."

Looking through her rifle, Gabriella sighed in frustration at the sight of a bunch of Azgeda warriors getting closer.

"There's no way we get across without being seen." Monty added, Pike nodding in agreement, "We should lay low, let the army pass. Then we find Clarke."

Wells clenched his jaw in annoyance, meeting Pike's stare with a heated glare that almost made Gabriella's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. The small staredown was broken by Monty, "Guys, there's a cave."

Everyone turned around to see where he was pointing out and there in fact was a big opening which was most likely a cave. And it was the safest place they could hide in while the Azgeda army passed.

"We just got lucky." Pike chuckled, but it was cut off by Indra, who shook her head with a frown.

"I can't go with you."

Gabriella furrowed her eyebrows at the grounder, "Why not?"

"Ice Nation has crossed the border." she informed them, "They're marching against my Commander. I have to warn her."

Kane hesitated before nodding, "We'll get Clarke."

"You better." Indra said, "If the Ice Queen gets her first she'll be dead and we'll be at war."

Gabriella hesitated before asking, "Aren't we already? We have been at war since we landed and I'm sure the twelve clans have been in one much longer than that."

Sighing, Indra nodded slowly, "You're right but if they have the power of Wanheda they will be unstoppable."
With those final words, Indra was walking away and Gabriella took one last look at the army before she hurried to the cave after the rest.

-

Wells released a sigh in frustration while pacing around the cave, "We're losing her."

Gabriella tried not to groan at his complaining. They were practically back at the beginning, just this time Pike's annoying ass was there too and they were in a dark cave very close to being killed.

"Relax." Kane told him, "Save your energy."

"Kane's right, son." Pike agreed, "The army will move soon. You'll need your strength for what comes next."
Wells only seemed to become more annoyed at Pike chiming into the conversation and he glared at him as soon as the words left his mouth, "I'm not your son."

"Jesus fuck." Gabriella muttered under her breath, remembering that the last time Wells had an outburst towards an authority figure, it was back when The Ark first landed and they had to be in a meeting with Jaha before they were meeting Lexa for the first time. The blonde took a note on the way he looked like he was about to explode so she chose to drag him away to the opening of the cave, away from Pike and Kane.

"You need to calm down." Gabriella whispered to him as he sat down on a rock. Bellamy scoffed in agreement once he reached them, obviously hearing her words and added, "You look like you're going to rip that guy's head off. Chill out."

"Chill out?" Wells asked him in disbelief, "Clarke is out there about to get killed and we're just sitting here."

"Yeah, the same Clarke that left us months ago." Gabriella told him, "Listen, lover boy, your loyalty is my favorite thing about you but right now? Clarke isn't the person that deserves it. She's not worth you getting killed."

Gabriella and Wells used to be too similar to their own good. Well, before Gabriella's mom died and before she started resenting everything about Alpha Station, and Wells' only living purpose became impressing his father and Clarke. They used to be so alike that now, it was a bit scary to think about it. They were both too selfish for their own good but now the only thing different was that Gabriella knew who deserved it and who didn't. She knew damn well Clarke didn't.

"Ella . . . " Wells trailed off, his shoulders falling in almost defeat, "It's Clarke."

𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦. Have been the words going through Gabriella's head all day and for the last three months. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘭𝘭𝘢? 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦.

Yeah, the same Clarke she's been best friends since they were practically babies. The same Clarke she gossiped about her crushes with. She had her first sleepover with her. Hell, she was even her first crush. But 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 Clarke wouldn't abandon her. So that wasn't their Clarke. Wells just didn't accept it yet. He needed closure.

That's why, when Monty started asking about his father again and Hannah started explaining what happened with Pike's help and she was sure Bellamy wasn't paying attention, she crunched down so she and Wells would be face to face.

"Help me take the clothes off the two guys on the floor and be subtle and quiet about it. After we do that we're gonna sneak out of here and go after her."

She could easily see the wheels turning in his head before his face softened, he realized what her plan was and nodded.

-

Five minutes later, they were on the edge of the woods, with their backs on one another and changing into Azgeda clothes. Gabriella was done first and turned around to see Wells putting his shirt on with his back still to her. She rolled his eyes at his slow pace and let out a quiet but annoyed, "Turn around."

Wells huffed in annoyance but turned around to give her a half-hearted glare, "I'm not a dog."

"Well you sure as hell are acting like a little bitch right now." Gabriella shot back, snatching the old clothes Wells was wearing and throwing them in a random bush, leaving the boy gaping at her in surprise, "Ella what the hell?"

"Why do you think I told you to leave the guard jackets in the cave?" Gabriella retorted, giving him a bored look, "Now let's get going and save your girlfriend before we die trying."

-

They followed two pairs of footsteps that led them to the direction Clarke's Bounty Hunter was taking her in and tried to be as quiet as possible ( aka not step on any dry leafs ) while doing so. Gabriella noted the way the footsteps stopped and looked up to see a big trace of blood on a tree. She looked around and caught sight of an opperning on the floor.

Tugging on Wells' forearm, she nodded towards the opening and pulled out her sword. Wells hesitated before doing the same with his own sword and following her inside. The two slowly walked in, trying hard not to make any noise. They simultaneously stopped when there was no sight of anyone in the room. Only a blonde tied up on the floor with her hands behind her back.

𝘉𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘰.

Gabriella caught sight of a small smile of relief appearing on Wells' face that was soon replaced by a guilty frown and a second later, he rushed towards her. Rolling her eyes at his dramatics, Gabriella followed behind and watched as Clarke looked up at them in shock.

"We'll get you out of here." Wells promised as he took her gag out, "You'll be fine."

He missed the panicky look in her eyes, but Gabriella didn't and turned around just in time for the Bounty Hunter that was carrying her earlier to step out of the shadows and slam the back of his sword into her head.

-

When Gabriella woke up, everything was silent. She blinked at the small ray of sunlight hitting her eyes and squinted before sitting up. Her eyes widened when she saw that Wells was unconscious beside her, laying on the floor completely still.

𝘏𝘦'𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥. Was the first thing that popped into her mind before her head shook in denial. No, it's Wells, he can't be dead.

She shook the thoughts off and hurriedly rushed to his side, putting a finger on his jaw and trying ( hoping ) to feel his pulse. Her shoulders slumped in relief at the sound of it and she looked at his body for any trace of injuries, nodding to herself when she only saw there was a knife wound in his thigh.

𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯. She thought and then put pressure on the wound. She took a deep breath before using her free hand to slap him across the face.

She hissed in pain at the sting when he flinched and his eyes shot open. He instantly glared at her and exclaimed, "What the hell was that?"

"You were unconscious. What else was I supposed to fucking do idiot?" Gabriella hissed back.

Wells must have realized what happened before because all annoyance was gone from his face as he hurriedly sat up and looked around the room in panic, "Where's Clarke?"

"Gone." Gabriella told him with a sigh.
"Then we have to go after her." Wells hurried out, climbing to his feet quickly and limping a little. He was about to fall back on the floor, when Gabriella caught him and wrapped one of his arms around her shoulders to try and keep him on his feet.

"Not until you get some medical help." the blonde simply told him and helped him walk out, ignoring his complaints as she did.

They didn't expect to see Bellamy, Monty, Pike and Hannah running straight towards them when they got out. Bellamy huffed in frustration at the sight of them and rushed to help Gabriella help Wells by putting his other hand over his shoulder. He didn't pay any attention to the boy between them as he clenched his jaw and looked straight at Gabriella, "You, please don't do that ever again. You could have gotten yourself killed."

Gabriella didn't have a chance to reply as Kane took his turn at lecturing her too, "We told you to wait for the army to move."

Monty took a more gentle approach and looked at them in concern, "What happened?"

"We almost had her." Wells panted, the pain and tears in his eyes painfully obvious to everyone.

"Pike, find their trail." Kane ordered but the former teacher shook his head, "It's useless. He knows he's being followed now."

Wells took a deep breath before trying to remove his arms out of Gabriella and Bellamy's holds and trying to walk forward, only to have Kane step right in front of him and block his way, "You can't even walk."

The youngest Jaha scoffed at his words and glared up at him, "Yeah well walking is overrated. We can't just let him kill her. It's Clarke."

Those words made Gabriella snap and meet his glare with her own, "Trust me, Wells I want to find Clarke too. But not like this. You'll probably die from losing too much blood before you even see her again."

"We can't lose Clarke, Ella!" Wells exclaimed, a couple of tears falling down his cheeks, "𝘐 can't lose her."

"You won't." Gabriella promised softly, "But dying won't help her either. We'll figure something out once we get back to Arkadia and ── "

She was cut off by her own hiss of pain and grimaced at the sharp pain on the back of her head. She would fall over if Monty didn't catch her. His gentle hand touched the back of her head and his concern depended.
"Ella you're bleeding."

"It's probably just a concussion, I'm fine." Gabriella brushed it off, but started to get dizzy.

"𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 a concussion." Bellamy mocked under his breath but she barely heard him. Her eyes squeezed shut and she felt two arms catch her from falling down, only hearing three words before falling unconscious again, "I got you."

-

"You could have been killed." Bellamy ranted as he glared down at Gabriella laying in the hospital bed. They were back in Arkadia again and Bellamy hasn't left her side since she woke up four hours ago.

Gabriella couldn't help but scoff at his words, "Stop doing that."

"Doing what?" the Blake brother asked with annoyance obvious in his voice.

"Caring."

Bellamy cracked a smile at her words, "Well if you got yourself killed then I'd have to start sleeping with people I actually like."

"And who could possibly want that?" Gabriella frowned mockingly, "Who needs attraction when you can have strong dislike?"

"Oh, Artemis, I can have both." Bellamy chuckled under his breath, moving his hand to hold her own. He squeezed it in a surprisingly tender manner as he watched her with a gentle expression.

"Just don't do something like that again." he paused before adding, "At least not without me."

Gabriella barked out a laugh of disbelief, "So that's what this is about? You're jealous."

Bellamy raised an unimpressed eyebrow although his face twitched slightly at the accusation, "I don't get jealous, Artemis."

"Sure you don't." Gabriella taunted with a small smirk, "Don't worry though, I don't have any interest in dating anyone. Especially not Wells."

She didn't catch the way Bellamy's face seemed to fall slightly because she was too busy staring at their entangled hands, wondering just how true her words actually were.
