*Seven months later (September)*

~Madison

"Happy eight-month anniversary babe!" I said planting one on his lips, as he accepts the bouquet of pink roses.

"Is that cherry lip gloss I taste?" Cameron said joking around, licking his lips.

"It was pomegranate."

"Well I was close. Thanks for the flowers babe, they're beautiful. I can't wait for tonight, I can't believe it's been eight months; it's gonna be a night to remember." He said, giving me another kiss. "Well, plus Carter and Macy."

"Why'd you decide to bring them again?" I said in disgust. Even though I normally wouldn't celebrate eight months, but it seems pretty special to me, and we haven't been out on a date in a long while.

"Because it's they're anniversary too and Carter doesn't want to be alone with her. It is his first girlfriend." He said, sweetly.

"Yeah, but why her? She's so different. And I'm talking about the bad different."

"And I can recall Nash not liking you when we first started talking, but now, you guys are the best of friends."

"Yeah, you're right." I hated when he saw the good in everyone.

Lunch nowadays weren't as fun anymore either, our comedian Matt was gone, and since Carter added his girlfriend to our clique, it's been more about her, and less about all of us. Worst thing about it, Carter believes she's the sweetest thing ever, and that we should hang out more, but Macy is the last person I'd want to hang out with.

"Sup weirdos," Macy said, sitting down at our table. "Hey babe." She said, kissing Carter on the lips.

"I missed you babe? How was class?" Carter said, running her hand.

"Can you pass me the salt?" She said, totally ignoring his question.

"Sure," he said, giving her the salt. "By the way, I though it would be a great idea for you and Madison to try out for cheerleading after school today." Carter said, blushing at her.

"What are you, stupid? You know I hate cheerleaders and it's not my thing. And I'm sure Maddie has other things to do."

"The name's Madison, and I don't mind trying out. You don't have to make the team, if you don't want to." I said cutting in.

"What's the point of trying out, if you're not gonna make the team? Are you stupid too?" She said eating her lunch. Sometimes, I really wanted to punch her right in her fake nose. "And that captain is totally a bitch." She said snapping.

But she was right, the new captain of the cheerleading team, is beyond worse than Brooklynn ever was; Tess Woods. If I didn't know better, I could say those two were related.

"Macy, please?" Carter said getting her attention, and then giving her the puppy-dog look anyone could fall for.

"Fine. We'll go straight after school tomorrow." Macy said annoyed.

Getting up to throw my tray away, I could see the big cheerleading poster. Just the thought of cheerleading made me nauseous with disgust, brought back memories of Brooklynn.

And speaking of thoughts, I lost my focus of it, when I collided into Tess, and Jack Gilinsky, Tess's new arm candy, who were ironically, locking arms. He's also new to the school, and it was pretty obvious because he was dating Tess. No guy that good-looking, tall, with a perfect smile, would date someone like her. He must have some potential, or probably none.

"Watch it, you weirdo." she said bumping me even harder, as Jack and I locked eyes for a quick second. "Jack, let's go!" She said pulling him away from the scene.

Cam was almost here, and I wore a beautiful pale pink dress, with the most gorgeous necklace, which was a gift from my dad, who actually agreed to this. He's been very open-minded with Cam lately, and Cam's been giving him more and more reasons to approve of him. Dad's been really getting the hang of the father thing; but as for Mom, nobody knows where she's been.

"You look beautiful dear." Dad said walking into the room. "I just wanted to wish you luck on your double-date. I don't know what your mother would say-

"Dad," I said stopping him, it's cool. I'll be home before 11p.m." I said kissing his cheek, as I walked outside to Cameron's car.

Once I got in the car, I was drawn to Cameron, in the most dashing suit I've ever seen him in; he looked so handsome, and was really cleaned up nicely. This morning he was wearing sweats, and went to school with bed-head, but even looking like that, he still looked adorable. Carter and Macy were wearing black and red, and knowing Macy, I believe she planned the whole thing.

"Babe, you look amazing." I said, after kissing his cheek.

"Not as good as you. These are for you." He said, giving me a bouquet of pink roses, it somewhat matched my dress.

"Cam, they're beautiful. You did not have to yet me these." I said, planting one on his lips.

"Uhm, Carter, you didn't get anything for me? Where are my roses and attacks of kisses and love?" Macy said, giving him the most disappointed face.

"Hey guys, do you think we could drive by the store and get some roses for my sweetie?" Carter said, a bit pitchy with fear.

"Sure, if you got that gas money." Cam said, placing his hand out.

"He didn't bring money, he assumed you'd be paying for everything." Macy said applying lipstick.

Yep, this is gonna be a long night.

**Later that night, 10:35p.m.**

Later on that night, Cam dropped off Carter and Macy, then pulled up to my driveway, walking me to my front door.

"Listen babe, I'm really sorry about tonight, I thought I was doing Carter a favor, and this would be a night to remember, but it wasn't. Carter and Macy nearly broke up, and I'm almost broke from paying for Carter's dinner. And now this isn't a night to remember, and it's all thanks to me." Cam said, looking like a long-lost puppy.

"Cam," I said grabbing his hand and rubbing it with my thumb, "It's okay, this was a night to remember, it wasn't the night, but it was still a night. Sure you only get one eight-month anniversary, but we have more anniversaries to go. Thank you for the romantic evening, it was sweet of you to put all of this together. I love you."

"I love you too." We kissed for nearly three seconds, and it felt like I was standing on the sun. We went inside to talk more about the date, and after turning on the lights, I wish I hadn't.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" She looked like a deer in headlights, though I would be too if my only daughter saw me in an intense make-out session with my divorced husband, who I had been avoiding for months.

"Maybe I should I leave, I'll see you tomorrow babe. Goodnight everyone." Cam said, leaving. Though him leaving, didn't make it less intense.

After that weird scene, I just locked myself in my room, and tried to forget it, but I couldn't. What made Mom want to kiss Dad? Their feelings for each other's were no more, and I wouldn't think she'd be on a dating spree again after finding out her fiancé was Mr. Dallas's killer.

Maddie, Honey," Mom said opening the door, "Can we talk?" I haven't heard those names in forever. Mom was the only person (besides Dad occasionally) that I would ever allow to call me 'Maddie'.

"Sure, you can explain to me why you're here."

"Sweetie, I came for the week, and your dad said you were out. We were just talking about you, Cameron, and how our lives have been, and then it just happened. I'd hate to confuse you with all this, but I'm sorry sweetie. I wasn't expecting you to come home so early, and that's not a side of me I wanted you to see as well."

What am I supposed to say to my favorite person in the whole world who's been avoiding my visits, calls and messages after they say something like that?

"It's fine, okay, no one's confused, or hurt. I just want to know what the kiss felt like, and why you've been gone for so long."

"Madison, I'm just here to help raise you. I'm just here for the week. Now, get some rest." She said, kissing my forehead.

"Wait, Mom, I have one last question; where have you been?"

"We'll talk about this another time." She said shutting out the lights.

But with her going a-wall, I didn't know if we had another time to talk. Suddenly now, I am confused.

~Author's Note

A bit too much for the chapter right?

Who's loving the story? Thanks a million to anyone who's reading my sequel, this truly means a lot. 💕

I'll be posting a question at the end of each chapter and would love to hear your response, so:

~How would you describe yourself in just three words? I'd say I'm quiet, observing, and imaginative.

Thanks for reading, and sorry it was an extremely short chapter.
