I put in my headphones and put on my music as I walk through the small town of Derry Maine. I look to my right to see missing Kid posters "Poor kids" I sigh out. You see I'm new here My name is Veronica Martinez I moved from Brooklyn Down here with My Father, and two Brothers. Now you might be wondering why my dad wanted to move from beautiful Brooklyn to a disgusting shit hole. Well you see my dad got offered a job as a business manager so he dragged me and my brothers down here. Now here I am walking past a few people stopping by a candy shop, I always had A sweet tooth. I walked in the sent of sugar hit my nose as soon as I entered. I looked around at all of the colorful sweet treats a small smile found it's way to my face as I stop by the jawbreakers. "You ain't from here, huh?" The old man at register said. I slowly turned towards him my smile flatten a bit as I took in his appearance.

He looked nice but a bit scary. I opened my mouth thinking of words to say. "No sir" i smiled kindly "Just moved here" I said as I walked over to the desk.
His eyes followed every step I took, making me shiver. "Where you from" he asked his eyes never left my body. "Well I'm from Brooklyn" I said softly "Brooklyn.." he paused "I can tell" he gave a deep chuckle as he looks down. He then looked back up his face serious now "Listen kid be careful" he growled out getting closer causing me to back up a bit. "There is something taking children, you don't want to be next" he says pointing a long finger at me. That was enough to make me incredibly uncomfortable.  "U-um yes sir" I say softly as I quickly turn to the door. "Be careful kid" he said harshly.  I just nodded and walked home as quickly as I could.
