"Terrance Chandler, my old friend." The masked figure hissed. He faced Terrance from the other side of a table in a large dark room. "It is good to see you again. It has been far too long."
"Indeed. I wish I was here on a more pleasant errand." Terrance stated. "I need you to kill someone for me."
"Of course. That's my job." The masked figure answered. He was not lying. He was the leader of a group of assassins known only as the League of Silence. They were called this because of the silent manner they used to kill their victims. The members of the League all took the names of birds, which was reflected in their masks. The leader's name was the Owl, reflected by his white owl mask. "Now, who exactly did you need dead?"
"The Steam Riders." Terrance growled.
"The two vigilantes?" The Owl inquired. "They pose no threat to us."
"You underestimate them, my friend." Terrance explained. "They have shut down many of my branches across New London, and many of the other Sky Cities, all the way to Port Avril. The New London Mafia can not survive as long as those two continue to breathe. I'm planning something big, and I do not need those two getting in my way."
"Say no more." The Owl said. "The League's existence does depend heavily on the success of the mafia. I'll have my best men on it right away. Now about payment..."
Terrance rolled his eyes. "Of course. Money is no object. I will pay you as much as it takes."
"Then let's say... 50 000 gold, each." The Owl said. Terrance scoffed.
"Mere pocket change." He said "We have a deal then."
The two shook hands, sealing their contract. The League were the best assassins in New London, and Terrance would need all the help he could get to get rid of those two Steam Riders. They had interfered with his plans far too many times. They truly were a force to be reckoned with.

Karina McNeill snored loudly as her alarm clock rang. She groggily opened one eye, rubbing the other with her hand.
"Dammit, it's 6:00 in the bloody morning." She groaned. "Wait..." Her eyes shot open as she sprung upright in bed.
"It's 6:00 in the bloody morning!" She exclaimed. "I'm gonna be late!"
She hopped out of bed, scrambling to clothe herself. The small screen of her audio/video communicator flickered on, showing the face of her friend and colleague (technically, he was her boss), Martin Richardson.
"Karina, are you awake?" He asked.
"Yes! Just getting dressed." Karina responded. She made sure she was out of his view as she put on her clothes. Her usual outfit was a brown vest and corset, along with long high-heel boots and a long dress.
"Oh, my apologies." Martin said. "I was just checking in. We have to leave in a few minutes."
"But I'm not ready yet!" Karina whined.
"I'm not allowed to stay at the dock for too long, Karina." Martin responded. "Otherwise I have to pay another 100 gold."
"Okay, okay, okay, look." Karina said, adjusting her goggles on top of her head. "Stay for another five minutes, and if I can't make it, I'll just take the jetpack."
"That should work." Martin nodded. "I guess I'll see you then." He tipped his top hat and the screen flickered off. Karina groaned and opened her closet, seeing the jetpack hanging inside.
"I always hate using this thing." She said to herself. She hoisted the jetpack onto her shoulders and opened the window. New London was a beautiful city, partially thanks to it being just above the cloud layer. It was no wonder it was often called the City of Clouds. But Karina had no time to admire her city. She quickly jumped out of the window onto a rooftop below.
