Kim Taehyung

Peering down the narrow skylight situated high atop the slanting roofs of the Royal Palace of Adele, I could easily make out one of the rings of Adele, securely encased in a glass box.

Down went my sturdy rope, and within a few minutes, I was hovering over the glass box in which lay the most precious jewel I ever laid my fingers on.

As the most renowned thief in the whole of Southern Friosk, take my word for it, I have seen many.

But what about it's other pair?

Still holding onto the rope and virtually hanging in mid air, I looked around for it, but it seemed that the grand hall was dedicated only to this valuable heirloom, it's doors flanked by guards from all sides, too many of them for any thief to set his foot in, and again, too few to stop Taehyung.

Finally I let go off the rope, and landed softly on my barefoot, careful enough to not make any noise. Even if a pin drops, it echos so loudly in this chamber that you have the nasty guards of Adele on your feet, closing all doors of escape.

In quiet, cautious steps, I advanced stealthily towards the raised support on which the ring was placed, keeping well in the shadows cast by the weak light of the candles.

Very confidently, I was about to remove the glass encasement, but I jumped back as I saw another pair of hands removing them, until a two shiny eyes popped up from behind the support. Those eyes widened as she saw me, and had it not been for my reflexes, she would have screamed out in surprise, which would as well mean the death of me, or us, is she was also here to steal the rings, as was apparent.

It has been twelve long years doing this, and you cannot expect me to not be prepared for this kind of a situation. Wrapping my scented handkerchief around her mouth, I had her unconscious before even a gasp of surprise could leave her mouth.

I opened my eyes into an unfamiliar room, my head hurting like hell, my wrists sore from the tight ropes digging into it.

Last night when Samantha shared her worries about the prediction of my destiny been wrong, I had made up my mind to flee.

"I strongly suspect that King George is not your destined partner. I know that my Crystal Ball has never been wrong before, yet I clearly remember my first acquaintance with him, where I had noticed that his eyes were blue, not brown".

" But it showed him to be from Veraenao didn't it? Does he have a brother? "

"He had. But people say he died when he was just three" .

"What do you mean by 'people say'? "

"They never found his body. He fell off the cliff".

" Good morning ", I jumped as a husky male voice sounded from behind me, as I turned my head I was greeted by an unfamiliar man sitting across the room at a desk on which was sprawled a game of chess.

He had been sitting there all this while?

" Hope you don't feel uncomfortable at my service, which,I am afraid, might not be up to the mark of your expectations, " he remarked sarcastically as he got up from his chair and advanced towards me, "For you are someone special, considering you had had the guts to sneak right into the Chamber Of Jewels of the Castle of Adele".

I scoffed. Being bound to a chair with ropes cutting right through your skin definitely felt comfortable.

" Why don't we talk about your specialty first, since you too, could manage to achieve the feat of getting in there? ".

His lips curled into a mocking smile as he chuckled lightly, " Maybe I wouldn't be doing that. I dare to have the audacity to assume that you already know the specialities of Kim Taehyung, don't you? "

"You- you are what? "

His smile widened at my gasp of surprise.

"So I see that you know who I am. You might be also knowing that I hate beating about the bush so without any further delay", he moved close to my face, locking his eyes with mine, " Tell me where the other ring is".

I gulped subtly, trying my best to not let my helplessness show. It isn't everyday that I, the princess of Adele, looses her calm in a dangerous situation.

Not everyday did I find myself bound before the most dangerous thief, Kim Taehyung, known to having his hands over the most dearly protected gems and jewels. And I knew too well that the ring which I had stolen was no longer in my pocket.

The only advantage I had was that he didn't know who I really was. Last evening when Samantha shared her worries about the Crystal Ball's prediction being wrong, I had made up my mind to flee. It was a good thing that I had changed into the maid's clothes before making my way out through the castle window, else he would have known my real identity and no way could I have protected the rings.

My plan was to flee with both of them, for I could not let the Rings of Adele go to wrong hands. It was that I didn't quite get myself to trust Prince George yet.

What if he isn't destined to be the possessor of the Rings?

"If you don't want to tell, don't. Then maybe I'll hold you back for a few days till I get to know where the other is, and believe me princess, I have my means to", he remarked not moving an inch, as he held his stance and practically challenged me right on my face.

But Princess? Does he know?

I racked my mind trying to figure out how in the wide world would he guess my identity, for I know no princess who gets caught at her act of stealing the heirloom which rightfully belongs to her. No answer did I receive as I started back at his dark brown eyes, but only questions when the realization struck.

His eyes were dark brown.
