Summary: Charlotte Watts dreams had come true. Living in France and planning excursions for families of children with special needs, she had accomplished her lifelong goal of becoming a French resident. The transition had been more difficult than she had anticipated, but life in Paris was worth the adjustment. Not to mention, the frequent interaction with Henri de Ettel, a French soldier assigned to guard the famous monuments in Paris, was the highlight of her new life.

Henri had never planned to spend his days marching in formation around the most famous attractions in Paris. His plan had been honoring the family line of military heroes by becoming one himself. Plans never seem to work out the way one thinks, and Henri's assignment to protect the treasures of his homeland became the only way he could fulfill that plan. Meeting Charlotte had made the dull job brighter. She was smart, beautiful and witty, something he found more than appealing.
