Cara walked home from school, her footsteps echoing in the darkness. The moon was hidden behind thick clouds, casting an eerie shadow over the familiar path.

As she made her way down the gravel road, the sound of the river and the nightlife surrounded her. But then, a chilling sound cut through the night - a woman's cry.

Cara turned around, scanning the dimly lit surroundings for the source of the haunting cries.

"Who's there?" Cara's voice quivered as she cautiously advanced towards the eerie wails.

As Cara approached the source of the sobbing, the ground beneath her shifted from gravel to dirt, then to mud, the eerie sound of the river getting louder. In the distance, by the riverbank, stood a woman no taller than 6'5, dressed in a drenched, white wedding dress, her black hair clinging to her ghostly pale face.

"Señora, are you okay?" Cara whispered as she cautiously extended her hand towards the woman's shoulder.

The woman's pitch-black eyes bore into Cara's soul as she looked up from the river's flowing water. Cara gasped in shock at the unnatural eye color and quickly withdrew her hand from the woman's shoulder.

"Mis hijos..." The woman's voice was raspy, sending a shiver down Cara's spine as the woman's cold hands took hold of Cara's. "Where are they?"

"I don't know where they are, Señora." Cara answered.

The woman's grip on Cara tightened, as the woman spoke again. "Where are they?"

Cara's heart raced as she felt a sense of dread wash over her. The woman's eyes seemed to pierce through her, demanding answers that Cara did not have. The eerie atmosphere and the woman's desperate plea sent chills down Cara's spine.

Suddenly, the woman's expression changed, her face contorting into anger. "You will pay for your ignorance." she hissed, her voice now filled with malice.

Cara stumbled back, fear gripping her as she realized she was in the presence of something otherworldly. The woman's ghostly figure seemed to flicker in and out of existence, her form becoming more demonic by the second.

Cara, trembling with fear, attempted to flee, but the woman's iron grip on her hands prevented her escape. Struggling to break free, Cara's cries for help were silenced as the woman forcefully plunged her into the icy depths of the river, her cold fingers tightening around Cara's neck, preventing her from resurfacing.

Cara struggled in vain, her lungs burning for air as the woman's grip tightened, dragging her deeper into the murky depths. As the darkness closed in around her, Cara's desperate struggles ceased, dead to the suffocating embrace of the water.

The woman let go of Cara, allowing her lifeless body to float down the river. The woman stood up to her height of 6'5, and started weeping.

"Mis hijos..." The woman cried.
